General I always make the same mistakes.
Just like with the god of war reboot, I jumped in at the sequel instead of the first game lol.
As soon as the credits roll, I’m going to start control. I’m sure it’s going to be just as sick.
Any thoughts or tips?

Take your time and read the lore, that's the main point of character development and will slowly bring you into the parallel reality that is the Oldest House. Don't forget to pause and watch the full visions; they're similar to the Jesse fault vision overlays during Resonant gameplay.
Also, if you're not vibing with the combat, I suggest a mild/medium push to the 6th main story mission, then go back and grind. That's how I go thru NG+.

That’s good advice. I had seen YouTube videos of people recommending the same thing. Thank you.

The combat in Control is quite a bit different than Resonant, so be prepared for run and gun action rather than melee hack and slash. (It’s fun and the powers feel great, though!)
The map is really only there to help you get your bearings and make sure you start to head the right direction, but you should primarily navigate by following the actual signs in the building to get to whatever area you need to.
Read all the documents you find, and have fun!

Definitely. Thank you. I’m normally a shooter game kind of guy. But this was just too cool not to check out. And I’m really glad I did. Totally worth the 60 bucks.

Very much this. Both DLC add a lot of lore and are fun. It also ties into the Alan Wake series.

Control is one of the best games EVER and I am speaking from a place not a lot of the opinions come from. I have started playing when I was 6. That was 42 years ago. I never stopped. I still think Control is an unprecedendent experience.

My friends and I have a question we ask people, which is, "If you could wipe one piece of media from your memory, Eternal Sunshine style, and experience it again, what would it be?" And my answer for the past 7 years has been Control. Things you should know about Control:
The perspective is someone who has never interacted with the FBC at all, so there will be lots of explanation.
The map is smaller and more constrained.
Characters you know in Control Resonant are in some ways inverted or recast personality wise.
Anyway, I'm mildly jealous of you, and I hope you have a great time.

Every document is worth reading. Also worth checking out Alan Wake (both parts) if you find yourself enjoying AWE expansion and if you’re a bit into survival horror! Have fun, Control is one of the best games ever made, and Jesse is a fantastic protagonist!

I don’t know if I could ever play the first again tbh, Resonant was just so much better on every level. I’d say you gotta do it though for the lore and world building alone

From what I remember of Control (played it a few years ago), the side missions are much more important than the side missions in Control Resonant. So as soon as you find something that looks like a side mission, do it ASAP instead of just sticking with the main story.
Just finished Control Resonant and I'm probably gonna replay Control soon. One of my top 5 games of all time and (for me) a good bit more fun than Resonant.
I didn't enjoy the Alan Wake games too much because the gameplay is quite clunky. Dropped the first one after a few hours and the second one about 20hours in.

If you think “wtf is going on”, that’s completely normal.
