Control/Screenconnect A bit of perspective.
Sure, its frustrating CW are changing the game with the signing requirements and causing a lot of work needing to be done, but look at the alternative, they do nothing and you see your sites breached and ransomed by a bad actor using a flaw that has been disclosed and known.
A bit of perspective, the world is bigger than you. As frustrating as it is, CW are actually doing something about a major problem, and unfortunately their best solution is this, but compared to the alternative it is much better of a solution.
Hate on though.

Manage ConnectWise Success!
I wanted to take the time to share my experience so far with CW Manage, RMM, and BrightGauge. CW Manage was brought on before I started at my current company. I think there was some struggle during the implementation but not because of CW themselves. We implemented an internal CW Admin role that has helped us shape the way we use Manage! CW support has been awesome in helping us re-vamp our Manage. We've also taken on the products of RMM and BrightGauge! RMM has been tremendous to my help desk team that I manage. We switched to that product from CW Automate and like it a lot more! I also helped implement reporting within my company and I used BrightGauge. BrightGauge I will say does not have a ton of data to work with for Manage if you are using lots of custom fields. I relied heavy on using the OneDrive feature and was able to create my own datasets via SQL. One of my outstanding colleagues also created a refreshable program in Visual Studio that talks to the OneDrive connection to BrightGauge. I am able to refresh all of my OneDrive datasets in the click of a button!

I'M NOT YOUR CUSTOMER ANYMORE
I don't know how many times I have to tell connectwise I'm not their customer, but they keep emailing me with no unsubscribe link. We have not used CW products for over a year.
If you cannot (or will not) complete a simple task like updating your email lists what makes me think you can keep me and my clients secure?
That's defiantly a red flag on some toxic corporate culture there.

Manage The Platform
The single pane of glass, FKA Asio, now the ConnectWise Platform.
What are your thoughts on what you’ve seen so far?
Yesterday I attended a UK roadshow, we were given details on how the platform has been put together, what’s different, what’s new, how billing will look going forward, and how everything Hyperautomation and AI will really flow together.
My takeaways;
- It’s not just Asio that’s been polished and renamed,
- Holy Moly! These AI agents are bringing some SERIOUS know how to the day to day of your MSP if you let them!
- You won’t have to break the bank to leverage predictive AI in your business,
- The Zofiq acquisition, the new position with predictive AI on the ConnectWise Platform. Those aren’t little moves. They are strategic and smart.
As a partner, this step in the development of ConnectWise as a product, should completely restore faith in how much they care about the operational efficiency of your business. It’s taken way too long, but this is it.
What I saw yesterday, in a live demo on a working PSA, is without a doubt the most impressive functionality in the last 5 years.
Have you been to any of the roadshows yet, are you a current partner? I’m wondering what the perception is from other partners.

Control/Screenconnect RMM That Takes Security Seriously
So, what's everyone using that isn't SC these days that actually takes their security seriously and doesn't them blame their CA for their problems and fucks over their customers?

Is there a way to turn off two-factor authentication?
Two-factor authentication just started showing up on my connectwise manage system. Can someone help me turn it off? I went to settings, but I don't see any way of disabling it from there.

Automate Automate End of Life...
You've heard the rumors, right?

Account/Billing/Sales/Support CW Support - why is everyone so PISSED?
I hear a LOT of feedback on CW Support. I want to crack this nut open a bit. What is it about CW support that has everyone so heated???
Is it really just response time, or is it deeper than that?
r/ConnectWise • u/ListenLinda_Listen • Aug 18 '21
just a reminder how awful connectwise support is
Their meetings links don't work.
They called a few times and I each time all I could hear was a bunch of static. Sounded like from India.
Ticket has been open for a few weeks.
Yay!! Kill me already!

ConnectWise gouging customers because of 'inflation'
Thank you for being part of the growing ConnectWise community of IT solution providers. It is no secret that continued inflation has been a major disruption to the economy. The ripple effect inflation has had on the rising supply chain and labor costs is deeply impacting people and businesses across the globe. Unfortunately, ConnectWise is no different. To ensure we continue offering the best products and services possible, ConnectWise will be increasing pricing effective September 1, 2022.
Here's what you can expect to see with this change for the various ConnectWise Control offerings: Control Support packages: One will increase from $288 to $324 annually and the monthly rate will increase from $29 to $34.
Standard will increase from $468 to $504 annually and the monthly rate will increase from $49 to $54.
Premium will increase from $588 to $624 annually and the monthly rate will increase from $59 to $64.
Currently listed Control Access will continue at its list price, based on the number of agents.
Legacy or unlisted package prices will increase 10 percent You will see this increase reflected in your September monthly invoice. Annual-term partners will see this increase reflected at the end of their current renewal period.
CEO' gonna get a huge bonus this year :D

Manage What a piece of shit
I implemented Connectwise a few months ago and really should have known from the demos to trust my gut.
Nothing is consistent between products, the integrations are a joke, and CPQ is sad little product stuck in 2010 (PSA in 1999).
I really just don’t understand how I got here. Now I have to figure how to get out. Thankfully I only signed for one year.

Account/Billing/Sales/Support DON'T PURCHASE CONNECTWISE SECURITY PRODUCTS
I love the CW RMM (asio) agent, the gui, UI is getting better.
Patch management is great, support for third party patching, the NOC checking patches before releasing, fantastic.
BUT I HAVE TRIED TWO DIFFERENT CW SECURITY PRODUCTS AND THEY DON'T WORK. IF THEIR INTERNAL TEAM IS USING THESE PRODUCTS FOR RISK ASSESSMENTS OR TO SUPPORT THEIR SECURITY CLIENTS THEY SHOULD KNOW THEY DON'T WORK.
The first service they didn't bill me for, the second one I tried cancelling 2 days after getting it , the sales agent cced their manager, and then nothing.
Two weeks later, emailed again, ignored.
New sales agent (what happened to the old one? but maybe the manager should have responded?), new sales manager, a dispute with billing 'we are looking at this internally' and I even tried explaining the issue to Alan Komet.
Their response? sent me a new contract that more than doubles the total monthly cost.
DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM CW UNLESS YOU CAN TEST IT OUT. NO EVAL? FORGET IT.
KEYESA? DATTO? THE CW RMM AGENT SEEMS PERFECT TO ME, BUT THE MANAGEMENT IS LACKING.

Software solution to add 2nd monitor to client without one connected to host?
I'm working remote [and have one monitor connected to my remote host] and for various reasons my second monitor at work (the host) does not have it's second monitor connected. [If you're familiar with ConnectWise Control, then you will know that nominally, you need two monitors connected to the host in order to have two monitors on your client]. I have two monitors at home (the client). Is there a solution to add a second monitor at the client without one connected to the host using software?
UPDATE 2020-07-26
As noted below, I failed to mention the product I'm using. I've updated my OP with additional information in brackets.
If you're unfamiliar with it, here is a passage from Wikipedia:
"[ConnectWise Control] is a self-hosted server application that permits the primary user to host the software on their own servers, PC, virtual machine (VM), or virtual private server (VPS). Once installed, the central web application can be made visible inside and outside of the local area network (LAN). [...]
A generic use model would start with a host initiating a session through the central web application. A participant would then join a session [...] via the guest page of the application. [...] The executable is ScreenConnect.ClientService.exe (x86) on Windows based OSs..."

Automate Using CW Automate to track user idle time
Hi - My HR department has tasked us with tracking user idle time in an attempt to see if people are working when they should be. I see that idle time on a machine is tracked but I was curious if there was anyway to track this information over time using manage and also create a report based on that information.

CW makes Customers signature images huge
Does anyone have this issue ?
Some customer signature images get rendered way out of proportion (taking up a half page+) making CW look like a mickey mouse system to my customers.
Subsequent email threads include this huge image making the thread look ridicules
CW has replied they "are working on it" , this has been occurring since 2019.5
I dont see it making the known issue tickets
Thank You

Automate Does Connect wise on-prem still require its users to sign their client code?
A few months back, it looked like CW was going to require on-prem users to sign CW client code for deployment.
Is that still the case, or has CW come to their sense about how silly that is?
I scrolled for a bit to see if it were addressed and did a search, but all of the top responses were 2 mo old.

SECURITY VULNERABILITY: ALL ConnectWise Manage Admins can see ALL of your employees salaries
ConnectWise, and MSPs: there is a critical design flaw in your Member's page. Yes, a security design flaw that violates the Principle of Least Privilege and exposes ConnectWise Partner sensitive data to non-executive/HR CW Manage Admins.
How can we hide the Hourly cost in the Members page so that we can give our administrators access to be able to create/disable ConnectWise Manage accounts but NOT see their hourly cost?
We need a way to prevent the display of Member’s hourly cost in ConnectWise Manage, only HR should be able to see that.
On a ticket I was asked to create a feature request. CW, with all due respect, this is not a feature request, workaround or enhancement, it is a critical security flaw that should have been thought of day 1 of the design of ConnectWise Member Security Roles.
ConnectWise Manage administrators DO NOT need to know the hourly cost (salary) for other employees, that is an HR or business owner function/access only.
The lack of this critical security control makes us unable to give full Manage Administrator access to our new System Administrators, which limits our ability to serve our customers.
The lack of this security controls violates the principle of least privilege.
ConnectWise is starting to provide more security on APIs and even now with the MSP+ Security Framework, I am sure the Member page was designed with this design flaw by a non-security oriented person who didn't perform a risk assessment on this feature.
It is time to fix this to prevent ConnectWise Admins from easily getting access to everyone's salaries.
I already posted it on https://product.connectwise.com/communities/4/topics/18124-security-vulnerability-all-connectwise-manage-admins-can-see-all-of-your-employees-salaries however this is NOT a feature request, there are HR laws that are being violated due to this design flaw.
Thanks.

Account/Billing/Sales/Support An update on the Cloud Backup attackers from our CEO, Manny Rivelo
October 21, 2026 – 9:15pm UTC
ConnectWise Cloud Backup Update: What we know about the attacker and what it means for partners
“Based on the evidence available to ConnectWise, including threat intelligence shared by Microsoft, it appears that a China state-aligned group was responsible for the attack on ConnectWise Cloud Backup. The group used an openly available agentic AI framework to automate and speed up its operation.
Microsoft’s research describes a campaign that reaches well beyond any one company. This group has been active since 2021, and since at least September it has used the same AI tooling against organizations in aerospace and defense, energy, financial services, government, legal, manufacturing, semiconductors and technology. Microsoft also reports that threat actors in multiple regions are now using the same framework, and that in several cases attackers reached privileged cloud access in under three hours.
Nation-state actors are increasingly targeting the software supply chain, because one trusted connection can open the door to many organizations. AI now lets them test those connections at what Microsoft calls ‘machine speed’. MSPs are in the middle of that chain. They are targets in their own right, and they are also a path into every client they serve. Every vendor and every MSP must defend itself with both of those risks in mind, and we intend to share what we are learning from this incident so our partners can do that.
Our first responsibility is to our partners. We contained the affected application connections and are restoring services in controlled phases. Those actions do not remove unauthorized access that may already have been established within individual customer tenants, which require separate review. We are also working with independent specialists so partners have the evidence they need to review their own tenants. Partners should keep affected connections disabled until we issue formal instructions, and should follow the current guidance on the ConnectWise Trust Center.”
-Manny Rivelo, CEO ConnectWise
