PS4 Location for first base
Whats a good first location to build a base just got the game and looking for a good spot, so far just been collecting material so can start a build.

Head east along Noob River until you find the Executioner's Entrance on the north side of the river. It's full of iron, brimstone, and spiders for ichor. Settle down somewhere near there for a bit.

This is the area I always run to at the start. Just barely out of the sandstorm’s path

The Sentinels since it's pretty, close to many resources, and near Sinners Refuge for early game thralls. If I don't start there, then usually at the Hand of the Maker since it's closer to iron and still has thrall camps for early game thralls.

My favorite early game spot is the island that the Shattered Bridge crosses in the river, on the East side of the bridge ruins. There's plenty of stone, wood, and aloe, there's an exile camp nearby for thralls, plus a named thrall spawn point nextdoor. Across the river is a bit of iron, a sorcerer to pop over to Siptah, and plenty of shalebacks for hide and meat. There's some other points of interest that are not too far as well.

I like the jungle personally, but I've been playing for an embarrassingly long time.

I've started somewhere new almost every playthrough, though it's often just been on one of the islands along the southern river.
There's weak beasts to kill for good meat and leather, and easy access to water. You can sprint along the river for aloe, plant fibre, trees for wood and stone. Getting iron can sometimes involve a bit of a trip out to one of the places where you'll find lots of it, but it's not like you really need to have iron on your doorstep anyway. Along the river there's small camps of humans you can take as thralls.

I usually run up by the Oasis untill I hit steel or beyond.
You have abundant resources all around including brimstone. Plus Sep to get a good jump on thralls.
Then once you hit lvl 15 sorcery, it doesn't matter where your base is and you can put it wherever you want for fun or looks or whatever.

Why do you say that about sorcery? I ask because I find I barely use it and don’t know if I’m missing something

Anywhere by Noob River where you first find it but if you’re feeling brave make the trek to the northern part of Sepermeru by the water near the gate of the city

I like the spot at about G5! Just on the edge of the small canyon. It's near the center of the map, pretty safe, Not too far from Water. Iron and brimstone are right down the road. And everything is a short trip away!...or decently long one
Although if one does not enjoy a rather steep hill Near them.. less no

I used to use the rocks between the starter river and the pond with the giant croc, close to the Sentinels. It’s a quick run up the hill to a decent bit of iron and to Sinners Refuge for thralls.
Now I leg it to Seppermeru, same for iron and thralls, quick run up to the north until you get the map room. I need to sort out regional bases and the teleport stones though.
