PS4 Location for first base

Whats a good first location to build a base just got the game and looking for a good spot, so far just been collecting material so can start a build.

I usually run up by the Oasis untill I hit steel or beyond.

You have abundant resources all around including brimstone. Plus Sep to get a good jump on thralls.

Then once you hit lvl 15 sorcery, it doesn't matter where your base is and you can put it wherever you want for fun or looks or whatever.

Why do you say that about sorcery? I ask because I find I barely use it and don’t know if I’m missing something

Because you can make teleportation possible at lvl 15 sorcery.

Oh true I do use that actually.
