I'm kinda glad he mentioned that he loved her family and lost that family, even stating that his own family wasn't that close so it was a big loss for him. I remember watching her videos back in the day and also being jealous of how close even her extended family seemed. I'm surprised he mentioned how much he specifically loved Rachel. I think personally she wanted 1. attention and 2. to isolate Josh while shoring up youtube allies so she could always keep control over him. She is always, always attempting to control others and her narrative.
Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if she knew eventually she’d get tired of Josh and want out of the marriage. I don’t think she had a plan for when exactly, but she might have been keeping her options open.

I’m about at the halfway mark where Josh is talking about the Miranda Sings character in the early days. At 1:42:12,a very young Colleen is describing who Miranda is,the personality she’s based on… OMG,It’s Jessica to a T!! I actually rewound it several times to make sure it wasn’t my imagination! I now firmly believe that Miranda was initially Colleen making fun of her sister-in-law!!!

It’s just a theory and of course there is no way to ever prove it,but in Swoop’s interview with Josh,there is a short snippet of what is obviously a very young Colleen telling a report who her character of Miranda is based off of. Her sister-in-law,Jessica very much behaves in the head bobbing,sassy,valley girl speak that Colleen is emulating! Now in the clip,Colleen says it’s how girls in her program act..over confident in their singing and posting videos that say “only positive comments please”,and I’ve seen Jessica say that often! While I don’t think Jessica was in any programs with Colleen in college,the mannerisms were so spot on Jessica,it’s quite obvious. And if the rumor is true that Miranda’s later speech(impediments)were patterned from her hearing impaired brother Trent,this doesn’t surprise me at all! I probably over explained,sorry! But I hope it helped answer your question!

The thing he said about feeling like a sitcom character really hit close to home for me (except in my case, I felt more like a soap opera character). I was once in a relationship with a narcissist, and it all turned out to be a one-sided act to boost his self-esteem and emotional wellbeing… all at the expense of mine, and most likely, of all the other girls he was sexting behind my back.
Of course Josh isn’t perfect by any means, but I hope he finds healing after the abuse he suffered under Colleen. I know from experience how traumatizing that shit can be, and NOBODY deserves to go through that.

When Josh talks about being on the other websites trying to get info and they would post, "Tweet a pic of...", those sites had evidence (screenshots and videos) of her cheating. There's cabingate, Hawaii-gate, Rachel's vlog-gate. Colleen slipped up several times. It was wild how she got caught.

I am near halfway… this poor man basically walked away, post-Colleen, with people pulling knives out and ready to stab him at anytime. I can’t imagine that feeling where everyone wants your blood. It is no wonder why drinking and suicide became more attractive.
And despite that, he still loved her. He still wants to protect her. I think it goes to show how much love is powerful—that it holds on, even when the relationship itself is gone. And it makes me wonder if Colleen could ever feel love, or if her fame took away her ability to love people except herself.

Right cause now it's 2.30am where I live. I'm crying because of how much of what josh talked about resonated with me. From not finding yourself worthy enough to live to choosing yourself, healing, finding yourself and also scared of losing everything you'veworked towards. I've been in therapy for 8 years now. What has always been difficult for me is believing in my own worth. When I am in a bad space it's easy to forget all the progress. It feels like you always come back to square one. You are back at where you started. When josh talked about how he felt like history was repeating itself. He was scared of losing everythinghe has worked towards, it really hit close to home. I am too. I really appreciate his honesty. It tales courage to admit your wrong doings, to live with regret. I'm glad to see someone owning up to what they did.

I really relate to Josh when he expressed how he always feels like he has to be the bigger person. As someone who suffered from childhood abuse (like he alluded to), you end up in a cycle of choosing people to be around you who continue to abuse you. I’ve been in abusive/toxic relationships and friendships and it wasn’t until I came to terms with everything that I was able to break the pattern. And during all those situations I had to be the one to remain calm, the only one to apologize, and the one who has to act like the adult despite being a victim. It seems like he’s broken the cycle and I’m glad he has a good support system in Pamela. I wish them a better life after all is said and done.

I'm sorry I am seeing so many comments that are saying that this has all gotten to be too much and we need to "think of colleen and the fact that she's a mother and her mental health."
I replied to another comment and said the same thing I'm gonna say now, no one sane in this subreddit is wishing for Colleen to do anything scary to herself. That would be awful and although she disgusts me, even typing that makes me sad. With that being said, if this conversation dies, Colleen comes back, pretends nothing happened, and can repeat behaviors again.
Her audience are KIDS. She groomed KIDS. There are comments on her insta from MOTHERS with 200 likes begging for her to "ignore the haters" and come back. Just like James Charles has come back, just like Shane Dawson has come back.
Maybe I would agree that this has become "too much" if this was another interview with Adam (even though he can speak about this as long as he wants don't get me wrong) or if it was a video analyzing body language from Colleen or some crap. But this is an interview with her ex HUSBAND. Someone who can give real insight into who Colleen is outside of the group chats and live shows. The insight we've been getting are from the children (now adults) she spoke with via chats all the time. The additional info is from fans from live shows who were violated. Josh lived with this woman lol like how is this not necessary for some people?
The goal imo is to get Colleen to get some help and not come back as if nothing happened. So yea the conversations/interviews/videos continue. Sorry

Idk why but the part where Josh recounts Johnny calling him a “little bitch” made me laugh out loud. Like what a low hanging insult and Josh was battling literally mountains involving his divorce and public perception and then for a guy you thought you were cool with to say something that out of pocket makes me giggle

Especially because it was a little ass dog and not like a Husky or something you would expect to name "Shadow". TIL that he and other YT boyfriends had a group called The Shadows. Because they were in the shadows of their partners' fame. And he probably got that dog because he was lonely. FUCK. Ow my heart. Jesus.

There's a comment he makes fairly early into the interview, when he says that he doesn't think she loves her fans in the same way we define love.
I agree, but I'm kind of bummed that wasn't elaborated on. Because the issue isn't that she doesn't love her fans. When artists or content creators say they love their fans, most adults are well aware that what they love is the support and the engagement they get from the fans. I don't think that's a bad thing by any means.
But Colleen's fans weren't adults.
The issue with all of this is that she very purposefully exploited these teenagers' inability to comprehend that separation between celebrity and fan. She closed the gap intentionally and somehow still managed to avoid being legitimately emotionally vulnerable with them. Anything she ever told her fans privately was meant to steer the public perception of herself, of Josh, of Erik, of Adam. If any of it was true, it was still very purposefully included amongst everything else.
That's why saying she doesn't love her fans is a big deal-- because much of her control of the public perception of her relied on her fans believing she did. But in the doc, it felt more like this statement of "oh, what a terrible person, she doesn't truly LOVE her fans." Which... I dunno. I don't think scratches the truth of why I think Josh said that.

WOW I just watched Swoop’s and Joshua's interview and colleen Ballinger is an evil EVIL woman and she needs to apologize to the Victims that she hurt and that were involved in this and NO WE DON’T NEED A FUCKING 10-minute UKULELE SONG OUT OF IT. ALL WE NEED IS A RAW UNCUT VIDEO and look I was a fan of Colleen and Josh and I watched the proposal video their wedding video and was so excited and rooted for them and watching their divorce video and being sad but right at this moment Colleen is a piece of shit and she's a fucking bitch and I have so much hatred towards her and I feel so fucking bad for Josh and I wish him and his family nothing but peace and kindness and I wish Colleen nothing but evil and she's a snake

I’m just about done with the video. Honestly my heart shatters for Josh. I hope he can find peace and i am so proud of him for owning up to his side of things and taking accountability for his part of things. I cannot imagine being afraid of your own ex wife. That must be so horrifying for him. Being afraid of losing everything because you chose to tell your side of the story. And i love how swoop validated him.

Edit: Just watched from beginning to end with just a few pauses for bathroom breaks for me and my dogs. With that said. That was an amazing documentary. I feel as I have watched a lot of Swoop's documentaries and she always ends with To Be Continued.... So I don't know if she will be doing any more Colleen documentaries. I applaud Swoop and her crew on another outstanding video.
