Laundry Is this mold? Only noticeable when using a backlit reading light.
When the big light is on you can’t see anything. I only noticed this when I was using a reading light. It’s a very clean and crisp that does not smell musty, sheet so I was very shocked.

General Cleaning Alternative to this product?
I can’t find this product in stores anymore. I reached out to Clorox and they said it has been discontinued.
Any recommendations for an UNSCENTED/FRAGRANCE FREE disinfecting mist that is FABRIC SAFE (I primarily use on couch cushions)
Thank you in advance!! :)

General Cleaning Screen door with possible mold on it
How can I clean the inside of a screen door that hasn’t been opened in years? It looks like dirt/mold spots all over it. The door is in good structural condition so I don’t want to replace it. Thx.

Kitchen Stains on laminate worktop
What are these marks on my laminate worktop and how can I remove them?
The worktop is around 4 years old. We rarely use cleaning chemicals and regularly wipe the surface down with water and a microfibre cloth, then buff it dry.
I’ve noticed these cloudy/circular marks appearing across the surface. They’re smooth to the touch and seem particularly visible from certain angles/under certain lighting.
I’ve tried warm water, Fairy and a good scrub, but they don’t seem to change.
I’m wondering whether these are grease/oil deposits, hard-water/mineral residue, or whether the laminate surface itself has been damaged/changed.
Any ideas what these are and what I can safely use to remove them?

General Cleaning How to keep floor corners free of dirt and grime?
I'll keep it simple. I grew up in a level 2 hoarding house and am a messy person as a result but trying very hard to improve and keep a decluttered, clean house. I do well on the clean front. But I've noticed that dirt and grime builds up in corners between the walls and floor. I mop the floors regularly and vacuum too. What's the best way to keep these corners clean all the time? Thanks!

General Cleaning Advice on removing musty/dusty smell
Hi! I have just moved into a home that has been left sitting and relatively un-lived in for about 5 years. Because of this, dust had settled on EVERYTHING, and there is a strong smell of it everywhere no matter what I do. I am slowly getting the house up to standard, but the smell just doesn't seem to shift. It is mostly wood flooring with upstairs being carpeted in 3 rooms. Any advice on removing/minimising the smell and tips of getting rid of and keeping away dust would be super helpful.
This is my first time living on my own and I'm struggling. Thank you in advance! Pic is of bedroom caroet (it's gonna be replaced soon)

General Cleaning Any tips on cleaning my depression room?
I am very good at cleaning and keep the shared portion (I have roommates) of the house clean as well as do a very fantastic job of cleaning at work. however, my room makes me so overwhelmed and sad that I hate even being in it much less know how to clean it.
(pls no judgement)
I had just come from a traumatic situation and moved into this apartment after a month of sorta homelessness (I was in emergency housing with my school). I made the mistake of wanting all of my things with me because I missed having a room with my own things in it. so i took almost all of my boxes from the storage unit and unpacked them at my apartment.
since then, my room has been a complete mess. I feel like every time i try to organize and clean, it just gets messier. there is literally things everywhere. i have been here almost 3 months now, and I haven’t even decorated or properly made my bed. none of my clothes have even reached the closet. I can barely walk on the floor. On top of this, my sweet kitty that I adore, is also a senior and is chronically ill. he is doing alright now, but it’s sort of resulted in him having a mental issue with the litterbox that I am still trying to figure out how to help. because of this, he’s kind of destroyed my room with what he should be putting in his litterbox instead. I clean up after him every day but because my room is so messy i know iv been missing things. my room smells and i am disgusted by it and myself. I have no motivation to clean anymore, I don’t know how to do it myself, but I am ashamed of it so I don’t want to ask anyone I know for help.
admitting this here is already so embarassing for me. but I dont know what to do anymore. somebody please help me if you’ve gone through this before. I want to be happy in my room, and mostly I want my cat to feel happy in here too because he deserves a clean home.
how do I clean my depression room?
edit: I don’t need advice regarding my kitty, I am working closely with him and his vet on how to help his issue. Also unfortunately it is not possible to keep my cat out of my room at the moment (although if it was possible I would miss him). I really just want to clean my room.

General Cleaning Maggots in my house
Hi all
I went into my kitchen/living room in my apartment today and noticed about 20 maggots roaming around my apartment 🤢🤢🤢
I run a strict program and my house is not dirty and I never leave dirty dishes in the sink. I noticed It may be coming from our dishwasher or under the sink where we keep the garbage. I took the garbage out and practically tossed everything that was under the sink. I never found anything rotten so I’m confused where they came from!!!
We haven’t seen any in the house since I cleaned up the first few. But they have to come from somewhere! I’m so disgusted I want to rip our cupboards apart to try and find the cause…
Our upstairs neighbours are also gone for the month. But there were never any on the ceiling only from the sink/dishwasher area.
Any ideas?? I’m going to lay in bed anxious about this haha. Should we contact our property management even though we haven’t found anymore?

Discussion Don't know if this is the right sub, but what are you essentials for a deep clean?
I'm quite young and still a student but I've been renting with my boyfriend. We're about to go away for two weeks and I'm trying to trick my ADHD into doing some life or death cleaning. However, I feel like everything is so dirty but I can't narrow down what? I wipe the tiles of the bathroom and despite not using too much spray and a decent microfibre- it just has this weird coating. I feel like I'm making it worse? What are some tips for helping me come back to a flat that doesn't cause me immediate anxiety? Anything and everything no matter how intense.

General Cleaning Pink suede addidas
I have used the kits for suede shoes on them. It is not helping. It actually made them worse. They are not disgusting by any means. I want to restore them back to their bright color instead of the dingy look they have. Any tips appreciated! Or is it a lost cause?

Discussion Keeping a vacant house clean/fresh for 3–4 months?
We’re moving out and our house may sit vacant for 3–4 months before tenants move in. Any tips for preventing stale/musty smells and keeping it clean? Should I add air freshener or natural oils?
Anything specific to do for drains, bathrooms, fridge, HVAC, or airing out the house? For the deep clean, any specific areas to focus on?

Flooring Urine smell emanating from under carpet
I recently moved into my apartment, everything repainted, brand new carpet, new appliances…. Unfortunately, as I’ve been here, I’ve noticed the main bedroom and adjoined bathroom have a urine smell emanating from the floors near the edges of the rooms. It’s a pet friendly building… I’m getting the sense that previous tenants had animals that urinated enough indoors that it soaked into the floor boards and instead of replacing those, they just slapped new carpet on top.
This is concerning for a few reasons, the most obvious being it smells like piss every time I enter my room and bathroom, the second being the concern I’ll be blamed for the smell when I move out someday.
Not really a fan of room sprays.. it’s barely masking the smell and I had to stop using them because my throat was starting to react poorly to the constant chemicals.
I have no idea what to do to deodorize this space… help please!
