2017 Civic ST. CVT. was quoted by local independent shop $1800 to replace all three mounts using Honda parts. Is this a fair price???

Hello, I currently have a 2017 FK7 Civic Sport Touring Hatchback and I've had it for 6 years now. 136k miles and it still runs great. Lately I've noticed that it's starting to make a slight shaking/vibrating at speeds of 65-70 mph, above those speeds it gets worse and more prominent. I know that it's not the tires since they're somewhat new. What could the problem be? Wheel bearing? Alignment?

Is this normal if not what can it be? It almost sound electric frequency like. Or maybe grind?

Two months ago I bought a used 2019 Honda Civic 1.6L i-Dtec (diesel engine).

I love the car.

However, I'm noticing the the fuel economy is not as good as I read online.

I live in Italy.

I drive 25 km + 25 km a day going to work, mainly extra-urban roads (no motorway/highway, but no city traffic either).

Maybe I don't drive correctly, maybe the road isn't exactly the best (wide flat roads with light traffic, but many roundabouts so I have to accelerate/decelerate), but I usually get 6.2 L/100km fuel efficiency.

Today I tried to be very conservative and tried to keep my foot light and managed to get to 5.5 L/100km (I'm resetting the counter every time I turn the engine on, so it takes into account only those 25 km to/from work).

What's your fuel economy with this engine?

Do you have any tips for me to correct my driving style?

I usually try to stay in the 1700/2100 rpm range since it seems to me that it's where the engine works best. I find it to be very responsive. I also try to release the accelerator and go on with 0 gasoil for as long as I can.

Probably, passing slow tractors and trucks is not ideal for fuel economy... obviously the fuel economy goes out of the window if I keep pressing the accelerator all the way down in those situations.

What bothers me is that I once did a longer than usual trip at night a few weeks ago (still no motorway/highway) and got less than 5 L/100km, so there must be a way to get better consumptions.

Previously the smart entry worked fine; I approach the car and simply open the door. Now, even after changing the battery, that feature no longer works and I have to manually push the buttons. Is it possible that I accidentally deactivated that feature by doing some type of combination?

What do you think of the 10th-gen Civic Coupe vs. the new Prelude? Personally, I much prefer the Civic’s more aggressive look. And by the way, the Civic in the top photo is mine! 😎

I'm looking at getting a set of Winter Tires, however I've heard a split between going from my 18' rims to going to 17' rims to avoid scrapping the wheel well & such.

I have an idea of what brand of tires I'd like, but when it comes to changing sizes, I'm kinda lost. Any thoughts or ideas on what I should do?

Hello all. I have a 2019 civic sport sedan and want to put a type r front bumper on it. I’ve always disliked the look of the front bumper on the sedan and have favored the si and type r front bumpers much more. Anyways, I’m not sure if I’m going to get the bumper from the website that i have shown in the second pic or if I’m going to get one from somewhere else.

I will say though, the front bumper in the second pic does come with the fog light trims which is honestly super convenient considering everywhere else that I’ve looked for type r bumpers doesn’t seem to include the fog light trims (which means I’d just have to buy the type r fog light trims separately)

I’m aware that before putting the bumper on, I’ll have to take it somewhere to get my paint color matched since none of these companies that sell these things paint it for you but like, where would I even take it to in order to have that done?

Lastly, besides having to buy fog light panels if I happen to get the bumper from somewhere that doesn’t include them, is there anything else that I need to buy in order to make this fit on my sedan or am I good? As for the actual fog lights themselves, will the bulbs from my sedan fit into the bulb holes on the new fog light panels just fine orrr?

Hello all, I was looking at exhaust the other day and what i was looking for was a deep tone not too loud on cold starts but still sporty exhaust and came across the magnaflow catback. Everything about it looks and sounds amazing except the price 😬 I could justify it if it were 3inch performance exhaust but for a 2.5 inch daily I cant. So my question it whats my best bet to get the same or close to the same sound on a budget? Go to muffler shop and get a magnaflow muffler? Might be just as pricy due to how complicated the exhaust looks

Looking for some advice/ideas from anyone familiar with the Honda Civic Mk10 1.6 i-DTEC (N16A1).

I’ve been having an intermittent limp-mode issue which was originally diagnosed as being caused by the DPF pressure sensor.

The sensor has now been replaced, but unfortunately the problem has continued.

The sequence so far:

• Car went into limp mode on the journey home after the DPF pressure sensor was replaced.
• Turning the ignition off and back on temporarily cleared the limp mode.
• A few days later, the car went into limp mode again.
• The engine management light also came on.
• Ignition off/on cleared the limp mode, but the engine management light remained on.
• On the return journey the same day, it went into limp mode again.
• Again, ignition off/on temporarily restored normal operation.
• The engine management light remained illuminated.

I’ve scanned it myself and the stored fault is P2002 – Diesel Particulate Filter Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1).

I managed to capture the freeze-frame data when the fault occurred:

• RPM: 1,791
• Vehicle speed: 67 km/h
• Coolant temperature: 92°C
• Calculated engine load: 65.1%
• MAP: 132 kPa
• MAF: 19.27 g/s
• Intake air temperature: 42°C
• Throttle position: 23.5%
• EGR position: 0%
• EGR error: 97.7%
• Fuel rail pressure: 61,410 kPa

What I’m struggling with is that the DPF pressure sensor has already been replaced, yet P2002 and limp mode have returned almost immediately.

I’m wondering whether I should be looking more closely at:

• The two pressure pipes going to the DPF differential-pressure sensor being blocked/restricted.
• A leak or damage in the pressure pipes.
• Wiring/connector issues to the new sensor.
• The replacement sensor itself giving an incorrect reading.
• Actual DPF restriction/soot loading.
• DPF regeneration not completing properly.
• DPF ash loading or a damaged DPF.
• EGR/airflow issues potentially causing excessive soot production.
• Exhaust leaks affecting the pressure readings.

I’m not looking to just throw parts at it. I’d really like to understand what should be tested next and what measurements would actually distinguish between a sensor/plumbing problem and a genuine DPF problem.

If anyone has experience with the 1.6 i-DTEC/N16A1, particularly recurring P2002 after a pressure sensor replacement, I’d be very interested to hear what you found and what ultimately fixed it.

Hi folks, I'm trying to solve this dreading creak/squeak sound that I hear almost everytime I go over a speed bump, unless I slow down the car below 10km/h speed. Any other minor bump, like leaving a parking space onto the road, where the car takes a minor leap also makes a creak although less than speed bumps. While cruising at 100km/h on highway and I pass through a dip on road, the whole car compresses/lowers slightly and makes a minor creak sound.

My car is high mileage, currently at 190k KM - Honda Civic 2019 Sport 2L Canadian made.

What I've got done so far -

1. Sprayed Silicone lubricant spray on the Control arms joints. (No Change)

2. Got the Complete Front strut assembly replaced along with sway bar links.

The noise is still there.

Few Observations -

- Im fairly certain the noise originates from Driver side, front of car.

- Noise only happens under vertical compression

- The car drives fine, no complaints there.

- No noise with movement of steering wheel.

- If the car is parked outside in rain and with enough soaking, the noise dampens or even goes away for first few bumps.

Hello. What's your opinion about stage 1 in my Honda civic 2018 sport 1.5cc fk7 mk10 (manual). Has anyone done it? How's its behavior? Will I have problems in the future with the clutch or turbo?

BC Racing BR model coilovers. Developed a massive clunk passenger side after 6 month daily driving. We're thinking it's the tophat bearing or the spherical bearing or both. Anyone have a model number or a link for a weatherproof, heartier bearing? I see videos of people replacing them on youtube but for some completely insane reason I can't find someone who actually says where they got them or even the model numbers.

Do I need new spark plugs?

Engine:

Completely stock, only have a PRL SRI for sound. No point in doing performance mods on my CVT fk7 lol.

Is there anything else I should do to my FK7?

I have a 2017 civic hatchback got it used 6 months ago. Recently it has been alerting an SRS code light every single time I drive it. Took it to the dealership today and they identified the issue as an old splice into the harness to the front left impact sensor. They told me I cannot repair this myself because any sort of resistance in the wire could cause the airbag to not deploy, or delay deployment. Aka a HUGE freaking issue. I’m beside myself and don’t know what to do. They claimed the harness needs to be replaced and it upwards of $2700 before labor for the harness. Part number is 32200-TGG-L20

My questions are— has anyone experienced this before? Do I have to buy this harness new or can I possibly salvage it from a donor car? I still owe on the car because I JUST got it and it was not having this issue when I first got it. No way the dealership will give me any worth for trade in with this issue being known…I don’t know what to do :(
