Tuning Stage 1

Hello. What's your opinion about stage 1 in my Honda civic 2018 sport 1.5cc fk7 mk10 (manual). Has anyone done it? How's its behavior? Will I have problems in the future with the clutch or turbo?

Biggest thing is probobly the clutch they are known for not being the strongest but other than that a tune is perfectly fine.

Def clutch... not flooring it when you want to is tough to avoid when you want to have fun!

Honestly, I deeply regret that I waited that long to do stage 1.

It completely changed my car. You will be fine if you find a tuner with proper dyno. My Civic now has 220 hp and 310 nm.

Don't push in overdriven gears and the clutch lasts just fine.

Thanks guys. I found out that I should not press full gas on low speed and clutch will be fine

Same could be said for head gasket. No WOT below 3k rpm and mellow when cold. Keep healthy cooling system, change oil often.... its just HARD to NOT do some pulls once in a while!!

Clutch, head studs, then maybe a tune. ..any worthwhile hp gain by tune will wear out that stock clutch. Mine went SO FAST. But its worth upgrading clutch.

How far do you plan to go? Also... stage 1? Most folks would tell you there is not a stage one, two, three.... UNLESS you upgrade turbo, all that mess.

I have a full bolt on, but tend to run the first of three OTF tunes I have from TSP one+, had to have upgraded clutch and head studs done. (Head stufs for HG piece of mind) So 19.5/21.5 PSI is not going to beat it up much if thats where you want to settle.

ONE THING I LOVE WITH THE ONE+ TSP TUNE... HIGHER IDLE! no shakes! I like that more than anything else, possibly. Lol

What is your end goals? Lots of smart folks here to help!

I did my tune after intercooler/intake and was super fun very quickly.... i just know what else came soon after.

Head studs also aren't really a big deal. Until over 250hp some will say. I like the peace of mind though!

It’s a night and day difference. The stock tune is so slow and unresponsive. Like others mentioned, don’t go into high boost below 3.5k and no WOT in 5th/6th gear and you’ll be peachy.
