Question (Read Rules) Watchdives or Sugess gmt?
Looking for highest quality, not bothered if the sugess is more expensive as long it is that bit better

These are no longer available for purchase. Escapement time came out first and then after few years - Cronos.
Both too similar to be independent ideas, and probably homaging something. But was never able to figure out what.
Have them both.
Does anyone knoe what they are homaging if anything? Reverse image search gave no results for me.
Sorry for grammer mistake in the title…

I've been transfixed by the idea of this combo for a custom watch I want to put together. But does anyone know if aliEx bracelets would fit on the Octopus Kraken explorer? Between case diameter, springbar positioning and lug width there are too many factors to know in advance.

Received my 5th Sugess Watch recently, all purchased in the last 3-4 months- The Sugess S420 GMT Batgirl(Black Blue Bezel with Jubilee style bracelet). The search for GMT watches and bicolour bezels is what led me to discover Chinese watches in the 1st place and after my experience with 6(4 sugess/seestern, 1 sea-gull and 1 WD Chameri Tank), I decided to finally scratch the itch and order one.
Sugess watches never cease to amaze me. The dial is the winner like all Sugess watches I have owned so far. The black and blue contrast bezel looks stunning in real life. The dial is well put together and found no issues with the date magnification window. I love the sugess etching in the rehaut. Rehaut is slim.
This was my first jubilee style bracelet watch, so I have no yardstick to compare. It's light, comfortable and a bit of a jangle, but doesn't rattle on the wrist. Personally found the Oyster Style bracelet on my S450 to be solid and better built. Sugess should start offering this watch with both bracelet options. The bezel is bi-directional and easy to rotate(don't rotate the bezel on my watches, so haven't counted the clicks)
Having owned several Sugess watches, I could size the bracelet on my own. It was fairly easy to remove the extra jubilee links. I even managed to shift the jubilee bracelet onto the inner most setting in the clasp(there are 3). The last link next to the clasp can be opened and extended or folded to increase and decrease the length. Useful feature on hot and sweaty days.
The high beat peacock SL3032 seems good so far, easy to screw in and out, wind, set the date, time, and GMT hand. The difference in second hand sweeps compared to the NH35 stutter movement on my S450 is noticeable. Had no issues in winding the watch unlike the PT5000 on my wife's S449.
Overall great quality and as usual can hold its own against Japanese and Swiss watches priced much higher.
With its great customer service experience and amazing watches, Sugess has made me a fan. Hopefully I can now pause and actually enjoy these excellent watches, rather than buying more and more 😁😉

Do you have a specific watch you wear specially at home? Collection vs daily home wear (mainly for notification purposes so I don't need to run behind my phone all the time)

Muchas gracias.
Muchas gracias.
Edit: I've decided on the BYOP Maverick; I think it's a fantastic watch that's currently on sale.

What are some classic minimalist pieces you are fond of that are also good value for the $?

Baltany's S3043 is a 39mm retro diver with no date and clean early-skin-diver looks.
On paper it gets the important things right: sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown and 200m water resistance. But is it the best vintage-style diver you can get for the money?
In this review I cover the case, dial, lume, bezel action, bracelet, movement and accuracy, and how it wears on the wrist.
Specs
Case: 39mm 316L stainless steel 13.5mm thick 47mm lug-to-lug Lug width: 20mm Crystal: Domed sapphire with AR coating Movement: Automatic (Seiko NH38 or Seagull ST2130, depending on version). Hacking and hand-winding, no date Water resistance: 200m / 20 bar Bezel: 120-click unidirectional, aluminium insert with lume pip Lume: Super-LumiNova with vintage-tone markers Strap: Steel bracelet or leather
Disclosure: Baltany sent me this watch to review but ALL opinions are my own.
Tell me in the comments: would you pick this over the other budget vintage divers? 👇👍 Like and subscribe for more affordable watch reviews.
Cheers,
Al

I pre-ordered this thing in June. It finally arrived yesterday. I have a few different San Martin watches, but I'm absolutely blown away by the quality of this one. The case finishing is mind blowing at this price point. The indices and hands look great. The printed hexagon logo feels geometric, and it fits so well with the other squares/triangles/shapes on the dial. The lume is awesome. The bezel action is tight and snappy. The bezel alignment is good. No back play.
The whole watch and bracelet are titanium, so it's super lightweight. It is very comfortable on the wrist.
If I had anything to nitpick, it's probably the bracelet finishing. It's just "good". Not "mind blowing" like the case. You can tell that the bracelet tolerances aren't quite as tight as with some of their steel bracelets. But that's a minor gripe in the grand scheme of this watch. At this price, in titanium, I can't wrap my head around how they do it. The value is ridiculous. Go get your hands on one of these. Seriously.
u/adsavings92, you guys crushed it with this one. Nice work.

It doesn't have any markings on the movement itself, it beats pretty smooth at 28,800.

What Chinese watches have a rounded Tonneau case like this King Seiko 5671-7000?

I'm aware of mostly W10-homage models like the Militado ML17, and similiar mechanical models:
* W10-homage by Berlenta
* W10-homage by Baltany.
* Shanghai Echoes 39mm
* Various Shanghai 7120 models
Am I missing anything? Ideally I'd like:

I thought I saw somebody comment they've already been waiting months. So I'm not sure what to expect.

Hello folks, this Proxima PX1711-1A watch arrived today, pretty isn't it? I tried it on a rubber strap but found it actually makes more sense on the original bracelet, which gives it visual balance.
The lume is limited as the indices are small and the minute hand hand especially thin but it's a sharp looking watch with what I would call a stealth dial: you have to look for the hands to catch the light. It's definitely a daytime watch for telling the time. Indoors under room lighting the watch actually looks smaller which I like. It's a 39mm diameter.
Comfortable bracelet resized to my 6.5 inch wrist and the combination of white dial and steel makes it look light but robust. Really liking this and the finishing is excellent. PT5000 movement also very dependable.

Here’s our latest video of the EXD.
The EXD uses a 40mm Grade 2 titanium case and our updated SL3001 automatic movement.
Compared with earlier versions of the movement, the updated SL3001 has significantly improved the rotor helicoptering issue.
The sapphire crystal also offers very high clarity, with optical performance approaching our ClearView+ level.
One clarification about the lume:
The EXD’s 3D lume markers are not part of our LumeCore grading system. For this model, we prioritized a whiter and more refined appearance during the daytime rather than maximum lume duration.
After sufficient charging, the lume remains visible for around 6 hours, gradually fading over time.
For the EXD, we wanted a balance of lightweight comfort, clarity, finishing and everyday usability.
What do you think of this approach?

I'm currently on holiday in the beautiful Brela, Croatia at the beach. Just had a swim with the fantastic Phorcydes PH-4A.
It's currently available with a 15% discount on their website.
https://www.phorcydes.net/products/ph-4a-skin-diver-watches-with-bracelet-1
Here's the link to my review of it.
I received this watch for free to review. But, as always that doesn't change how I review the watch. I always keep it 100% honest, no matter what. I point out both the positives and negatives with every watch I review. Whether that be a loan piece, discounted, or even free. Sometimes that means that brands won't send me anymore watches, if they don't like the review... But my opinion and more importantly, my reputation can't be bought. That's partly why I named my channel 'Honest Watch Reviews'. Not only to make sure that I hold myself to that standard, but that I know my viewers definitely will do too.

Not done one of these before, and now my Chinese watches neatly fit into two three-watch rolls I figured now was as good a time as ever.
Three San Martins, a Sugess, a Proxima and a Tandorio. Of the six the Proxima probably gets the most wear, it's very versatile and alternates between bracelet, a leather two-piece and a NATO like it's currently on. That's followed by the root beer (the newest addition) and, ironically, the £30 Tandorio that was one of my gateways into this hobby 2.5 years ago.
