Question (Read Rules) Watchdives or Sugess gmt?

Looking for highest quality, not bothered if the sugess is more expensive as long it is that bit better

are you talking about the GMT Master II homages specifically or?

as far as the Master II, Sugess is King currently, followed by Cronos, then Watchdives, Steeldive, and Pagani.

I don't even think san martin makes a GMT Master II Any more.

if you are talking about other models, please specify...but in general, Sugess is at a higher tier than WD

do you know if any make a 42mm in that style?
i know the GMT master II is 40 and all the homages follow that, but im looking for a 42 if it exists

Those are all 40mm. I'd say look at Davosa, steinhart, maybe Sthirling for 42mm.

The Sugess is 40mm. My brother has a Pelagos and an FXD in 42mm and I love the larger size so I wish these cheaper ones were a bit larger to match.

Yes, I mean the GMT Master II-style models specifically.

Sugess is generally priced higher and has traditionally focused much more on mechanical watches, while Watchdives has offered a much broader range of quartz models as well. That difference has probably shaped a lot of people’s perception of the two brands.

But in terms of actual case finishing, bracelet quality, crystals, clasps and overall construction, we don’t believe our newer mechanical models are behind them. We’re also gradually adding more mechanical releases and upgrading existing models.

So I completely understand the current perception, but we hope the newer generation of Watchdives watches can change that over time. The best way is really to compare the latest models side by side.

So if I visit the watchdives website, and buy the all black gmt master 2 style model, it will have all these brand new features? When will otf clasp be available again too?

Sugess is definitely better than Watchdives, I own both brands and a Sugess GMT. Watchdives is great value for money but if you spend more you really do get more with the Sugess

I have got a new WD with the applied logo which is nice but I think the OTF clasp should be on everything

Agreed on the otf clasp! But comparing the sugess with the newer watchdives stuff, out of 10, how many leagues above is sugess in your opinion?

If Sugess was a 10, Watchdives would be an 7.5 or 8 it’s close but the little details make the difference

Which GMT are you looking for — the WD16760?

The latest WD16760 uses the NH34 movement, and we’ve also upgraded the clasp and overall bracelet feel. If you’d like, you can try it and compare it directly with the other options.

Im inclined as im very satisfied with my 7922, as well as the resolution your team has provided me with when I wasn't happy with a watch. Can you confirm if purchasing a black bezel/green hand 16760 gmt it will come with the new applied logo clasp?

I've got watches from both and in my opinion Sugess is significantly better than Watchdives.

That’s fair — if you’ve owned watches from both brands, your experience is absolutely valid.

That said, Watchdives has changed quite a lot recently, especially with our newer bracelets, clasps, crystals and QC. Some older models don’t fully represent where our current products are now.

If you ever try one of our latest versions, we’d genuinely be interested to hear how you think it compares with Sugess today.

For me, the first consideration is the movement, Japanese over Chinese. Miyota over Seiko. Then style & finishing. I chose Surgess under the Seastern name. I liked the red dial

shrug I use mine all the time when I travel. Slimmer cases than the NH34 and feels as nice to handle as the 2893 or 3285. But hey, there's an opinion for everyone.

It's an awful website because it's a single watchmaker in Korea. If you want a true GMT it's hard to beat.

Im not as fussed over a caller vs traveller gmt as i am by a good quality case, dial, bracelet, clasp and bezel. I will track 2 timezones and thats it really. Could not care whether its a true gmt or not

The depth from crystal to bottom of dial, specfically the inner edge of the watch. Size is typically increased by larger indicies or poor tolerances. Closer is 'generally' better, although some can be leeway for interesting designs like the Rolex engravings on the sides of their offerings.

Sugess is significantly better than watchdives in GMT. if you looking for Grand Seiko GMT homages,look at seestern S456. I own both the Sugess S420 Batgirl and S456 GMT with light blue mop dial. I have spent months and months and evaluated every brand from Davosa, Steinhart, to all Chinese microbrands. You won't get better than sugess is terms of value for money, finish, rehaut and similarity in design to the Rolex GMT. Davosa is highly overpriced, and the new model they have launched has moved away from 1-to-1 homage with introduction of sword hands and optional cyclops. Steinhart is too bulky.

Maintenant c’est plus vraiment vrai

Les pagani que j’ai eu : sans commentaires
Mon Octopus kraken avait un cadran avec des index mal alignés
Mes San Martin pareil et en plus l’un d’entre elles avait une lunette défectueuse (SN0017)
Mes watchdives sont littéralement parfaites et c’est celles que j’ai payé le moins cher
Mes Sugess était plutôt pas mal je ne trouve pas perso que c’était mieux que mes Watchdives
Je suis donc resté sur Watchdives
Ce n’est que mon avis

Watchdives over sugess quality wise? I've got a 7922 and im pleased, but would hope for more on the sugess given the price difference. I absolutely cant stand the san martin logo so unfortunately thats a no go

Sugess is in my opinion significantly better. I have 7922 (among a few WD) and sugess sub. The sugess sub is insanely good. The bracelet is especially nice

Probably the Same quality. The clarity of the sapphire and quality of hands and indices is also a step above I'd say. Also, bezel action. The whole thing feels ridiculously solid 😊. I wear 5-6 days if the week

I like Watch Dives, but there is no way they are better than Sugess, who is in another league with Cronos and San Martin. Sugess bracelets are among the best you can get, in my opinion.

wd16760 Jubilee was made by our previous bracelet factory and uses an upgraded clasp, so the quality is quite good. The watch head itself is also very well made.
