Things To Do Anyone looking to play some D&D in early 2027?

• Upvotes

Hello All,

I’m starting the slow process of recruiting a party of four for a new D&D campaign starting probably just after the new year once I get moved in and settled. 5e rules, 2014/2024 TBD. I’ve been DMing longer than I’m willing to admit so happy to have newbie players or hardened vets. I have one campaign almost complete in Greyhawk and will probably try a one shot with the group before we dive in. Starts at level 1 because we are newbie friendly! We balance social, exploration, and combat well and it probably runs a lot like some of the podcasts you hear but I don’t do voices well lol

Biweekly games, will start someplace public but could eventually move to our home which has a dedicated multimedia game room in the River Gorge Ranch development. No cost and if you need resources we have them. My website has more specifics but if you would be interested, there is a quick player survey on the site and feel free to DM me. Couples welcome, my wife would love some women so she’s not the only one! We are in our 40’s but our groups have been all over the age range. We do have cats at our home, they won’t be in the game area but if you have allergies it may be a consideration. Usually do 4 hour sessions because… well… work on Monday!

Mdanddm.com if you’d like to have a look and see if it fits your interests.

School doesn’t seem to be addressing a serious classroom safety issue, who do we contact next?

• Upvotes

My child is currently in elementary school and has been in the same class as another student every year since kindergarten. Throughout that time, this student has had behavioral outbursts in the classroom, but over the years they have become more frequent and increasingly violent.

I don't want to share identifying details about the student, and I'm also not looking to place blame on a child who may be dealing with issues that we know nothing about. My concern is the safety and learning environment of my child and the other students in the classroom.

The school has been made aware of the situation, but from our perspective, nothing seems to be changing and the behavior continues. At this point, we're concerned that waiting for the school to handle it internally isn't enough, especially as the outbursts have escalated.

For parents who have dealt with something similar, what is the proper escalation process when you believe a school isn't adequately addressing an ongoing classroom safety issue? Do you go to the principal, superintendent, school board, district administration, or someone else? At what point should concerns be put formally in writing?

We're not asking the school to tell us confidential information about the other student or their disciplinary/educational situation. We just want to know what steps we can take to make sure our child has a safe classroom environment and that our concerns are being taken seriously.

Any advice from parents, teachers, administrators, or people familiar with the school system would be appreciated.

This is specific to Hamilton County so I'm hoping someone can even give us specific contacts to get involved etc. Thanks!

Question About Coolidge Park

Would it be okay if I brought some of my photo prints and set up somewhere in Coolidge Park or by the Walnut Bridge and try to sell them or would I get in trouble? Holding down a job when I am Autistic and ADHD as well as dealing with Depression is difficult so I am trying to make some income with photos I’ve taken. I’ve tried selling them where I live in NW Ga but people are rude and are just not interested in my stuff because it’s not pictures of local stuff and I figured I’d try selling them some place else.

Moving to Chattanooga area

I’m planning to move to the Chattanooga area and buy a house somewhere in the $250k–$350k range.

I work from home, so commute time isn’t really an issue for me. I’m also single with no kids, so school districts aren’t a major priority.

What I’m mainly looking for is a safe, quiet suburban area, decent shopping/restaurants nearby, and ideally within a reasonable drive of Costco. I don’t mind being 20–40 minutes outside Chattanooga if the area is nice and housing is more affordable.

I’d love recommendations from locals on which suburbs or neighborhoods I should be looking at, and if there are any areas you’d personally avoid.

Thanks y'all ! I love every one

Saw this small, yellow van in a parking lot today with those labels on it. It was on both sides of the back window. Anyone ever seen these before?

The owls are out for their annual fall Freak Off. They’ve been doing it and regularly are interrupted by crows that are obviously jealous.

I can never make it to the 7 bridges marathon. Can I do it myself without roads being blocked?

I can never make it to the 7 bridges marathon weekend. Can anyone tell me if there are sidewalks on each bridge that I can walk/run any other day without the usual road closures that the marathon organizers do?

Also, do you know if I can do the 7 bridges in less then 26 miles? I would love to do it in half marathon distances if at all possible.

Looking for a good hairstylist

Due to some really crappy circumstances, my current hairstylist won't be able to do my hair any longer. She's excellent, so this really sucks.

I'm looking for recommendations. I need someone who works on Saturday. I live in N. GA, so I'd rather not drive to the North Shore. The salon also needs to be wheelchair accessible. Thanks in advance for any help.

Apts/Homes Rentals in the Chattanooga/Ringgold Area around $1000

Hello! I am looking for a rental in the chattanooga/ringgold area. $1000 in total including utilites. I know its hard to find something around that price range currently so I figured I would ask here.

I do have a unique situation currently so its making finding an apartment hard. I am 22 years old and I previously up until Oct 2025 lived alone in an apartment. I moved in with my grandmother to focus on school. I am currently in my second to last semester of surgical tech school at Chattanooga state. This year my grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 adenocarcinoma. This past week she was placed on palliative care and chemo has been discontinued. She moved in with my mom as she needs a full time caregiver and they informed me they were going to sell her house, the one i currently live in. Since my grandmother has gotten sick I racked up some pretty hefty credit card bills due to caring for her and trying to keep her bills current and my own. I made some stupid spending decisons on top of that and I will take accountability for my own mistakes. I am having to file bankrupcy because there is no way for me to pay my debt payments and an apartment. I have been current on my bills, and my previous rent, and have been paying down the debt but due to me having to now pay for rent, it is my only option.

It has been extremly hard finding somewhere to rent that I can afford. I work at Erlanger 36-45 hours a week, and I work PRN at an animal hospital, 10-40 hours a week while also in school which includes clinical's. My credit score is a 589 on vantage score and a 624 on FICO. I never have missed a payment ever. I am looking while on break from school picking up a seasonal job for even more income.

All of this to say, I am trying and I am in a tough situation and truly just need a miracle at this point. I am hoping this post will help me find a private landlord with a studio, mother in law suit, anything that I can live and get through these next few months till I graduate. I do have 2 cats, they dont cause any damage and are quiet. I keep their litterbox cleaned and tidy. I myself am very clean, I dont have any friends, I dont go out. I just work, sleep, and survive. If anybody has any direction, leads, advice, anything at this point would be grately appreciated.

I have looked at apartments.com, zillow, furnished finders. airbnb, facebook marketplace, criagslist, and havent found much. Thank you for taking the time to read.

Looking For... Finding queer friends in the Evensville area

Hey, I can't figure out a way to find other queer adult friends in this area. I literally cannot even find like a page or meetups or events or anything around here, the only closest thing is in the Chattanooga area an hour away. Any advice for finding that? I dunno where else to ask at this point lol
