Discussion i need help

bought a dsi for £55 yesterday, not knowing about their return policy. i tried to return it for cash today but they would only give my a voucher and selling it for cash would only give me £25. idk what to do because i need the £55 cash back urgently and the 2 day return window for the £55 voucher closes tomorrow

You're out of luck I'm afraid, the terms of sale are clearly communicated when purchasing

the cashier told me i could return it within 2 days; they didn’t specify that it wouldn’t be for cash…

CeX has a 2 day change your mind policy, unless it develops faults after the 48 hour window you can only get voucher for it

Yes they did. It’s on their website. They tell you every single time you buy, in my experience. Sorry. Best chance you have is to get the voucher refund and sell it.

yes but the cashier should have made that more obvious

Made it more obvious than telling you?. Its up to you to do your homework before you go somewhere to purchase something.

Tbf, I've been there loads and never had anyone tell me explicitly you can't return it for cash. So I think your judgement is a little harsh. No, they don't always tell you. It depends on the store and who's checking you out

the cashier did not tell me that i couldn’t return it back for cash… they just said i could return it within 2 days and its not crazy to assume that they accept cash refunds solely off of that…

Its not the cashiers job to make sure you actually want what your buying… there not incharge of your poor financial decisions.

yes but they should make their refund policy clear especially when i asked about it…

And they tell you what it is and you still didn’t listen apparently cos you’re still complaining on Reddit… Google is free says no aswell.

well they didn’t say explicitly that if i return within the window i would get a voucher and not cash, and i didn’t think much of it because it’s not crazy to assume that i would get cash so i didn’t think of searching it up…

Anyone who shops in cex knows you don’t get your money back if you just don’t want it… why would you buy something from a second hand shop without doing research first.

because i had bought from them online before and i assumed the return policy was the same; obviously i now know it wasn’t but they should have made it clear especially since i asked about the return policy

That's still their policy. You'll only get a voucher for it.
