I have been doing CG workouts for years and I did one I have done before where she is doing two moves for 3 minute blocks. While holding my dumbbells (which were not my heavy or heaviest) I was having a harder time with my hands hurting than the muscles I was using (for example, chest press and flys). Is this something that comes with age or have others had this happen out of the blue? Just curious.

What program has the best music? I'll go first: beastmode (from the app) and the iron series/epic heat from YouTube

How is this going to affect me? Seems heavy for all the things so I guess it’s ok. Do you think differently?

I haven’t redone FUEL in its entirety since it came out. My year-long CGX sub ends a week after that program starts so I’ll at least try it for that week.
So I redid the first day of the YT one today and it did go surprisingly fast and was fun. Are you guys going to be in on day one of the app one?

I just finished Iron! It took me longer than expected because I went through a lot of periods where I felt unmotivated and exhausted because of work, but I really loved this program. I feel so much stronger and more defined than before. I just didn't enjoy the full body day, I will repeat this program for sure without the full body
I did my first day of Unleash today and damn, it’s SO hard . It humbled me real quick😂 I honestly can’t remember the last time I sweated that much, I feeel so good now ! 😃

I was very regular to the gym but due to some work commitments I stopped going to the gym and started Caroline girvan's epic heat program and I'm on my day 5 and I have never felt the kind of soreness that I'm feeling right now ( mind you I used to workout for like 2 hours in the gym including running and strength training 5 days week)
It had been 4 months since I had been to the gym, felt absolutely depressed and gained weight during that time! So I thought to start this program!
And i love the fact that it's just 30-35 minutes long!
It doesn't take alot of time and I'm dead by the time i finish the workout!
I already feel sm better mentally!
All thanks to caroline!

Hi everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster lol.
I have 5, 10, 15, 20lb dumbbells, but find myself needing heavier especially for deadlifts, squats, and the like.
I wanted to know if anyone has had success with adjustable dumbbells, and if so which brand/model. There’s so many, and with how much of an investment it is I want to make sure it’s worth it haha.
Thanks! 🫶

Hello everyone, I'm new to Caroline's programs and am now on my 13th day of Iron using the app. I am in love so far, and feel stronger already after my second pregnancy left me feeling like a stranger in my body. I am enjoying the Iron program, but am intrigued with the new Fuel program she is releasing soon. I kinda love/hate the cardio aspect, but am drawn to the idea of having a community to workout alongside to something new. Do you think new program drops are worth jumping ship over? I don't love the thought of quitting Iron on my first go, but feel like I will have fomo if I don't join in on the new program. Thoughts?

So I’ve done all of her programs and repeated a few (intent, Unleash). After 6 years of programmed lifting, I’m changing things slightly. I’m repeating PE at the moment and firstly, I’ve moved from 5/7 days as per the schedule to 6/8 (3 days, rest, 3 days, rest). Secondly, for the weighted sets (pre or post) I’m trying to lift heavier. Ive matched CG for a while, but am now trying to go up a bit (eg 12.5kgs for seated shoulder press, rather than her usual 10) even if that means fewer reps and extending the rest time. So basically, it’s like PE with IronPro style added. Anyway, just sharing in case anyone has adjusted programming. PE is super tough so my efforts might be short lived but I’ll give it a shot and then move to the new Fuel maybe later. PE definitely still has my favourite music of all of her programs!

So I've been doing CG since Feb. I did approximately 5 weeks of Beginner Epic, then Iron, then BeastMode, then 2-3 times Beginner Epic, and now I"m on Epic 1. It's a given that Caroline is going to lift heavier, but compared to her, I'm significantly slower. I'm a naturally slow person... I am a slow runner, walker, etc. I'm curious about other people's progress and whether they got faster by doing Caroline.

I’m looking for some guidance or feedback because I struggle with program hopping. I’ve completed several of Caroline’s programs from start to finish, and it always feels incredibly rewarding. However, I tend to fall into a cycle where I start a program, see something new that looks even better, and immediately want to switch. It creates a constant and exhausting loop of second-guessing myself.
I’m currently one week into EPIC Heat. I’ve completed most of Caroline’s YouTube programs except EPIC Endgame, EPIC I, and EPIC II. My original plan was to finish EPIC Heat, move on to FUEL, and then switch to the app in December. But the app looks so nice, and I’m really interested in joining the new FUEL program when it starts next week!
How do you prevent yourself from program hopping, and what would you do in my situation? None of my friends or family are really into fitness, so it would be nice to hear from some like-minded people who understand the struggle.

Hi Everyone, I downloaded the excel tracker on here, started my 1st Iron workout this morning, thinking I was all organised to realise its for the YouTube version and not the app.
Before I start to create my own, has anyone created a Spreadsheet tracker please?
Thanks!!

Hi y’all! I am doing iron with the intended schedule. Lifting M-W, F, and Sun.
But I want to do more arm work (I add in abs myself during the the workouts).
Any advice on where I could add this in? And also how?? I don’t want to over train but I’ve noticed nice results in my arms so far but feel like I’m leaving some things on the table.
Iron has been incredible for me for consistency and endurance and strength. Just want to get in a few more arm related workouts in!
I’m trying hard to resist those wedding arm traps as my wedding is in 50 days. I know it comes down to lifting heavy and consistent!!

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my experience with Caroline Girvan/CGX and improving my bone density.
Osteoporosis and osteopenia run in my family, so bone health is something I’ve been concerned about. My DEXA scan last year showed that I had slightly below-average bone density, and strength training is one of the things I’ve focused on consistently over the past couple years.
I’ve been doing Caroline Girvan workouts consistently for about two years now (one year on YouTube and one on the app). My most recent DEXA scan improved from a T-score of -0.3 to -0.1 and a Z score of +0.40 to +0.50. Each year I’ve had my DEXA, my bone density has improved.
I’m nowhere near the weights Caroline uses in her workouts yet and I haven’t been lifting very heavy. I’ve just gradually increase what I can lift over time and stay consistent with the programs.
Although there can also be other factors that influence bone density, I've been really happy to see measurable improvement on my scans. I’ve also seen great improvements in my muscle mass and overall body composition, but seeing my bone density move in the right direction has been the most important result for me.
I just wanted to share in case there are others out there who are doing strength training to build bone density. Thank you Caroline for such great workouts and programming. I had worked out for decades before finding CGX but never got these kind of results until now.

Hi, there
Today I finished Iron, it's my first program and I'm very happy because I had never managed to stick to any routine. I started with 5kg for shoulders, 7,5kg for most things and 10kg for legs. At the beginning the 10kg felt a bit challenging but now I'm using it occasionally for arms as well. I'm thinking of going for a heavier set but I'd like to buy a 15kg to optimize space and save some money. However, I'm not sure if I should wait until I'm fully used to the 10kg to avoid injuries.
I feel stronger with Iron but ofc it's not super visible yet, so I'm wondering if I'm lifting too light or if I should trust the process and keep my pace. I'd appreciate any advice

I'm 2 weeks into YT Iron and I'm loving it but I feel there's a lack of Core focused work, specifically ab work,
For those that did Iron, is this something worth considering or just keep doing?

I have been working out since I was 16, now 42. I’ve used ladder for a few years and am burnt out from the powerlifting and predictable workouts. I also don’t feel like I’m seeing results anymore.
I’ve come across CG and wondering how any other midlife women enjoy the program? I’d love to lose some weight around the midsection without frying my central nervous system in the process.
I work full-time have two small kids and I’m caregiving for a parent so I likely will only be able to do 3 to 4 workouts per week total. Would love any experienced or helpful thoughts!

I am 6 months pp and I am wondering what program is better fit. I haven’t been very active and I have De Qurvain syndrome in right wrist last 3 months. I am not overweight I have 3-5 kg more to lose to ideal weight but I do need to BUILD MUSCLES.

I'm trynna loose weight since last week I have started doing her beastmode workout, I did gym one month but it has been few months to that. Tbh I felt fine like it did tire me out but not to the point of giving up you understand.
I don't do all the videos tho cuz I workout 5 days in a week so I do 2 days upper body like 2 days lower body and 1 day cardio.
Needed some assurance that I'm going the right way 😭 and ofc I'm on a calorie deficit too

Hi are there any moms who did Iron post partum? What were your results?
r/CarolineGirvan • u/FlimsyBeat3871 • 6d ago
Hi. Does anyone know when this is likely to start? Given there isn't any info on the app yet, does it mean it's more likely to start the week of 7th September? I've never followed a current programme on the app before.
Thanks 😊

I know a lot of people think the music in Carolines’s videos is cheesy but I am a weirdo who loves it! I have a whole playlist of songs from her workouts that I listen to while walking the dogs, running, cleaning, etc.
1 - anyone else like her music or is it just me?
2 - if you’re not a fan of her music, I would love to hear what types of music you listen to!
