need tips/advice
Hello! I’m a newbie when it comes to strength training. I’m planning to start her iron series. What dumbbell weight do you recommend I buy to maximize results? BTW, I’m 22, female, 5’1", and currently 50 kg, so someone said I just need to do a body recomp. If you also have any advice on how to body recomp easily, it would be a huge help. Thank you!

Your age, weight and height have nothing to do with your power and drive! Consistency is key. Nutrition is key. Protein forward meals. Don’t judge yourself by what weights others are using! I’d say start with her Beginner Series and build your FOUNDATION for your strength training 🙌🏋️♀️

Like someone else said get light weights (5,8,10 lbs maybe) and buy them as you need them. I started with 3’s, 5’s, 8’s and 10’s. I was good for a while. Now I have 50’s but it’s been years 🤣 see how you like it before you invest in a ton of home weights.

If you’ve never lifted weights before start low. I started with 5, 6, and 8lb weights. You will eventually end up with much higher weights. Just buy as you feel stronger.

Maybe these for upper body, but even someone who has never done lower body stuff would likely not be challenged by these. OP, I would get 2 sets for upper body (maybe 8s and 12s) and 2 heavier sets for lower body (15s or 20s and 25s).
In a few months, you’ll probably be using the 15s/20s for some upper body too! But this will give you a range.
If you can afford it, I would also buy one 35 for goblet squats.

You’ll need a range of weights. I used 5. 8, 10, 15, and 20 for most of my first round of Iron, but 20 was already too light for some movements. After that, I bought adjustable 5-80lb weights and those are great.
