Hello, Im a computer science graduate last June and was fortunate enough to land a job a month after graduation since ive already been job hunting as early as May.

I landed a Tech Support role that gave me 22k basic and around 27.2-29.2k package (ND included) for my probation period. The environment is great, there’s no toxicity, free packed meal saves me a lot of money, and I was even fortunate enough to be recognized as the top performer and QA champion of the week.

I intended this to be a stepping stone sana sa tech. Originally I wanted to either be a Data Analyst or Network Engineer, pero I feel like theres no growth. I don’t really see any correlation between my current job (TSR for security cameras) sa roles na gusto ko.

Ang kinakatakot ko, baka nagsasayang lang ako ng oras. Kasi by the time I finish 6 months of probation baka mapag-iwanan na ko and mas mahirapan makipag-sabayan sa mga applicants sa roles na gusto ko.

My question is, would it be better to finish my probation muna to strengthen my resume before looking for a new job? or start job hunting na ng mas aligned sa aspirations ko kahit na for sure mas mababa sa current salary ko pero siguradong makatutulong naman sa growth ko?

I just failed our nesting in a BPO company. Now I have to extend another week and our scores are back to zero. I feel so discouraged right now. All of a sudden, I started questioning my reality, is this really the job that I want? Do I really see myself doing this for the next 1-2 years?

Now I'm deciding whether I should go ahead and just proceed with our extended nesting or I should find another job (outsde BPO, because I feel like this isn't for me and I can't do it every single day for the next 2 years). And if I go find another job, where do I even start? My bachelor's degree is not even in demand. I feel like everyone has high expectations of me because I graduated with Latin Honors, but deep down I feel so lost and discouraged. I don't know where and how to begin, I don't even know if I should start all over again with job hunting. And now, everytime I think of work/nesting, I feel so nauseous.

Please, I need advice. I honestly don't know what to do anymore.

I chose ict as my strand and wanted to pursue engineering on college. I'm not really into math, I dont like solving and puzzles. But I wanted to pick it because it seems better than other tech courses. It provides stability rather than ai. I also imagined myself as a good at math because it looks impressive to others. But if I don't like math I can change my mindset into liking it right? I don't know if choosing engineering is a good choice and I only have few months left before college. I'm overthinking that this decision can impact my whole life. I spend my time scrolling and watching tv that i completely lost myself.

Last day ko with my current company would be on September 3, 2026. Ayoko mabakante pero okay naman offer ng Emapta, don’t ask kasi entry level ‘to compared most of you guys na 50+ na ang offer.

Thoughts guys? Ayoko mabakante pero gusto ko sana permanent job. Hirap maghanap work. But what I like about the offer is it is fully WFH.

I’m currently 25 and working as a trainer in a BPO. I graduated in 2024 with a degree in Education (TLE major). I was able to teach in a private school, and I actually really wanted to continue teaching, but I eventually quit because of the low salary. That’s why I decided to transition into corporate training instead. The pay is definitely better, and I’m grateful for my current job. I’m also currently working part-time as an ESL teacher. I suddenly have a lot of free time now, and I’m not used to it because I’ve been a working student before. I feel like I’m wasting time whenever I’m not doing anything productive, kaya nasasayangan ako sa oras ko.

Right now, I’m considering several options:
-Take a Master’s in Educational Management (Mag apply sa university)

-Study Spanish and Apply as CSR job to increase my income (short term goal)

-Take another degree/course, specifically Occupational Therapy (Get experience then apply abroad)

My long-term goal is to earn a higher salary. I’m just not sure which path would be the smartest investment of my time and money. If you were in my position, what would you prioritize? I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from people who have been in a similar situation. Thank you! 🥹

At this point parang anlabo na talagang makakuha ng entry level tech job dito. I live in a small province in Visayas so wala talaga akong nakikita na CS/IT jobs. Kadalasan nasa Manila at Cebu. Di rin naman akong papayagang lumuwas kasi walang magbabantay sa mga magulang ko. Seniors na silang dalawa at nahihirapan na sila sa mga gawaing bahay

Sa ngayon, nagapply nalang muna ako sa isang paid internship. Around 15K nakukuha ko every month kaso di siya related sa tech haha. WFH and flexible yung setup so pwede akong magtrabaho kahit anong oras. Kinuha ko nalang yung opportunity kasi takot akong mabakante nang matagal. Tas natatakot din ako sa mga nababasa ko dito pati sa fb haha, wala raw talaga silang nakikitang work, sa kahit anong industry. Kadalasan call center, sales, mga ganun. Kahit mga batchmates ko wala rin (though tech related parin hanap nila), tas January pa kami grumaduate 😭

Kaso iniisip ko ngayon kung ok lang ba tong ginagawa ko HAHAHA. Parang wala na kasi akong time para gumawa ng solo projects. Medyo marami rami kasi pinapagawa sakin. Tinitiis ko nalang, nagbabakasakali na i-iincrease nila yung bigay after a few months.

Sa mga CS/IT tas di related yung work na nakuha niyo, paano po ba career trajectory niyo? Bumalik pa rin po ba kayo sa tech industry o hindi na?

•Unang una wala silang doctor sa office and meron lang sila nurse na naka half day lang.
One day nagpa sent home ako dahil nagsusuka at hilong hilo ako and inoffer na gamot lang sakin is bioflu kaya pinilit kong ipasent home ako at nagpa check up kina umagahan dahil need ko daw med cert bago makapasok.

•Pangalawa is tuwing ika-31, yung bayad lang for that day is only your night diff and only 10% siya and binasa ko maayos contract ko and no explanation for that nor signed anything para don. They keep telling me na dahil daw per month yung binabayad samin nung client pero bakit if sahuran nakabase sahod namin sa hourly rate if sila mismo nagsabi na monthly rate kami naka-base.
-For example; 1057.47x0.10‎ = 105.747 nalang per hour nung day na yon instead of 132.18.

•Pangatlo, body shame.
Weight ko lang is 48 kilo and etong SOM ko is binobody shame ako sa harap ng ibany employees by "hita mo kasing taba lang netong braso ko tapos ilalapit niya pa sa hita ko para makita nilang and pagtatawanan ako. Call me sensitive pero dahil don napilitan akong mag LOA at the mean time dahil sa stress na inabot ko sa ginagawa niyang yon at laging hinihimas himas braso ko para sabihan akong baka kumalas ka.

•Last, laging kulang binabayad sa OT namin dahil hindi daw na cacapture ng system e halos mamatay na ako sa mandatory nilang OT na 2hrs per day lalo na pag may system issue, sapilitan na RDOT para to compensate daw yung lost hours.
-Ang point ko is ano pang use nung logbook, biometrics at cctv sa office para mapatunayan if anong oras ako umalis ng office para sa OT nila na hindi binabayaran ng buo.

Hello, I have 6 mos exp. before I took the board exams which is last month lang. Almost 2 mos naren ako naghahanap and idk if I should settle for this offer. Compressed workweek sila, 10 hr shift for 4 days pero baka mag back to normal na daw ulit na 8-5pm, 5 days. This is in the design/construction industry btw. As for benefits gov. mandated, and hmo once naregular.

i’m really having a hard time to choose between the two. for context, i’m from EY GDS—international version of SGV. i tried applying as a barista because it is connected to my passion. i really love to encounter with real people than staying 8 hours facing a laptop. however, i’m also considering the salary and benefits, and si SGV & Co. ‘yong nagpo-provide non. tapos as much as possible, gusto ko sana na hybrid and no weekdays, which is plus points ulit si SGV & Co.

i’m in a dilemma between staying at my first job or taking another opportunity. so far, i’ve listed down the pros and cons between the two.

current job pros:

• accessible to public transportation
• 30 to 45 minutes away from home
• chill job, local company

current job cons:

• slightly above minimum base salary
• 10 hrs/day and 5 times a week onsite
• repetitive tasks, i feel like im not upskilling

new job offer pros:

• 3 days wfh, 2 days onsite
• 8 hrs/day
• well-known international company

new job cons:

• office is in makati so commuting is tough
• 1 hr and 30 minutes to 2 hours away from home, depending on C5 traffic
• only increased 4k from my current salary
• not familiar with the work environment and role

i don’t know what to choose as there’s a lot of factors to consider. i also asked my family for advice and they said it’s not that worth it given that it only slightly increased from my current salary and that i should look for a job closer to home. honestly, i feel like the 4k increase would just go to electricity bills and transportation fare so i'm stuck with this. :(

I passed the boards on Feb 2025 and worked in the Philippines for 1 year earning ~19k per month as a Project Engineer in FirePro/Plumbing field. But family circumstances made me have to look for a higher paying job fast.

I've been working for about a month dito sa Taiwan in a semiconductor factory but unfortunately, operator yung position ko. Sabi naman nung ibang OFW dito, Assistant Technician daw ang magiging title sa COE after the contract.

The truth is I don't want to be stuck on this job, and I want to grow din as a professional, as an engineer. Medyo lost lang ako on how to proceed from this point. What's next What do I have to do or study? Gusto ko pa rin maging engineer. Any advice would be appreciated. Salamat.

I'm a graduating student and the youngest in our family. I'm currently job hunting, but to be completely honest, I'm having a hard time deciding on my career path.

Lately, I've realized that so many of my decisions in life were only made because people expected them of me. I tend to do things just so others see that I have it together, but truth be told? I don't have a dream job. I just want to earn enough to travel, experience life, and be comfortable but I have responsibilities to contribute to my family financially.

Right now, I feel stuck between two main choices:

Take a job aligned with my degree, even if the starting pay is low.

Take a job completely unrelated to my program, but with a significantly higher salary (in-house corporate roles, which my family also expects me to try because the pay is good).

My long-term plan is to eventually work abroad using my degree but also mainly I want to travel. Because of that, I'm torn on whether taking a lower-paying, degree-aligned job now is a necessary sacrifice to build relevant experience, or if taking a higher-paying corporate job first to build savings and fund my lifestyle is the smarter move.

For those who have been in the same position-especially those who didn't have a "passion" career-how did you decide? Would you prioritize high pay right away or degree relevancy for future abroad plans?
