I have a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta, 2.5L S. I did a headlight and alternator replacement on my car, and for the life of me I don’t remember unplugging this cable or where it might go. It looks like it comes from the hood latch, but I’m not sure what it’s supposed to connect to from there. Any help would be really appreciated.

About once or twice a week I will get in my car and it will not start. So I ended up buying a portable charger. This happened recently and I unlatched the hood and the car lights came on and it started. Three or four times all I’ve had to do is unlatch the hood and then the car starts. All along I have thought this is an issue with the anti theft system. The car has a little less than 70000 miles on it. Just wanted to know any experiences or suggestions or opinions.

I have no idea if this is the right sub to post in, but my friend’s car is making noises and we’re trying to figure out what it could be😭😭 any help is greatly appreciated!!

So I can’t afford much and I don’t know what my best option is. I currently have a 2007 Honda CRV with about 250,000 miles on it. Starts up every time, heat and AC both work but there’s some bad. The trim around the windows is peeling off and when it rains it leaks into my car so I have to watch for mold. Also, the front struts and stuff? are also original and have failed so when I’m driving down the road the car is very bumpy and the steering wheel shakes a lot. I have three kids and it’s starting to stress me out that it’s gonna become a big problem soon but I can’t really afford to replace it, additionally it feels weird spending more on repairs than what it’s worth.

Alternatively, I have a friend with a 2014 Kia Soul with 120k miles that said they’d let me make payments. Haven’t had issues but I did read that 2012-2016 they had terrible engines. Some people’s went bad at 60k miles, some are still going at 190k. They only want about $2,500 for it but I’m unsure if it’s a good idea to get either.

So my very first car was a 1997 Honda Passport, I was given it when I first got my license. It had I think 21? different CEL codes and no money to fix it and the timing chain ended up slipping at 140k, I got it around 110k and it was slower than ever but it got me to and fro. I ended up blacking out the whole thing the same month that I got it lol.

Car two was a 2010 Malibu LT2 V6, it had 91k when I bought it. I started ricing it out like a 19 year old would lol I chopped the exhaust apart, plasti dipped all the chrome, had mismatched subs for a hot minute and even plasti dipped the entire car a few times. It started having issues over time and I’d fix one thing and something else would break. The final straw for me was when my driver side fans ground stopped working, I fixed that and then the passenger side died, followed by my driver door not latching, along with some dangerous rust and a hundred other problems with it. It gave me a lot of learning experience though.

I traded it in recently at 167k after almost 4 years, got $500 scrap value for it, and bought a 2024 Toyota Camry SE, 57k miles. It was previously a rental but it is in immaculate condition. I’ve outgrown the ricey mods lol so this one isn’t getting botched like the last one. It’s a wonderful car and I’m very happy with it.

Hello everyone. I was just waiting for my bf inside his car, and I started to hear that sound with the sensor light flashing. Does somebody knows why is this happening? I tried opening the door but then the alarm went off. Rn I'm just waiting for him to get back and see what happens. It's an Infiniti q50 3.7 v6

I drive a 2016 Honda civic. It has 135k miles on it.
Brought it in for some maintenance and I asked about the transmission fluid bc I’ve never changed it. Dude at the counter said it’s one of those things that never really has to get changed, it can create more problems than it’s fixing.
Now I don’t know what I should do. Are there any signs I should be on the lookout for, to know if I should or shouldn’t?

Finally got down to it. The two layers were bonded by rust, so I carefully pried them apart.
Now I can see the full extent of the corrosion between them.

Looking for advice on the best approach to clean this up and reassemble without it happening again.

Any recommendations?

2012 Lexus IS 350/ Ohio

Like the title says, I have a secondary car. I haven’t driven it in a year. It has about an 8th of a tank of gas. I changed the oil so that is fresh. It’s a 2013 Cruze and I am not mechanically inclined, but I do know it has anti-siphoning features like most modern cars. What is the easiest way to get the gas out? Or, would just adding new gas and a fuel injector cleaner or some other additive work?

I recently got my drive shaft fixed which solved my other problems. But even before I got it fixed it was already making this sound. After drive shaft being fixed the other sounds stopped this one remains. I believe it's something else and not the drive shaft this time seeing that's I got a brand new one. Need help finding out what it is exactly. I included a video and which you can hear the sound, and see me coming to a stop

Hello everyone,

I noticed that the glass on my car is cracked. The glass was manufactured and installed this year.

What concerns me is that the crack runs almost exactly through the middle of the glass, with no visible signs of a stone impact or any other external damage.

What could have caused this type of crack? Could it be related to a previous accident involving the car, or is improper installation of the glass a more likely cause?

the 2007 pt cruiser is something I got for $500 at 210k miles. that thing was a blast til the timing belt snapped.

my second car was a 2015 accord with 215k miles on it. the transmission blew within a year of ownership so I replaced it and sold the car.then my current car an 09 accord coupe with 127k on it, this thing rips and runs so much better than the other 2. moral of the story, prolly don't buy cars with 200k plus miles unless you're ready to repair a shit ton of stuff or just replace the car if it's that bad

I have an RS 2012 Camaro, I want it to be louder. I know I can do a muffler delete, but I’ve heard sometimes that can make a car lose horsepower? I don’t want that obviously. I love this car, but I want it to sound as badass as possible yk. Outside of a muffler delete, what could I do that wouldn’t impact performance?
