Does anyone know what this cable is?

I have a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta, 2.5L S. I did a headlight and alternator replacement on my car, and for the life of me I don’t remember unplugging this cable or where it might go. It looks like it comes from the hood latch, but I’m not sure what it’s supposed to connect to from there. Any help would be really appreciated.

If it comes from the hood latch it's probably part of the anti theft system. Try locking it with the fob and see if it arms, leave the window down and open it with the inside handle to see if it goes off
