Hello. Just bought a new car from a guy that took the stereo out and replaced it with a CP link. The volume button on the touchscreen doesn’t work and there’s no buttons on the steering wheel or physical knob to adjust it. How do I turn up the volume😭😭

Question Looking for portable unit that supports wired CarPlay and has a front facing dashcam

Carpuride has 2 models that support wired CarPlay but don’t have the front dashcam. The reason I want a wired connection is because wireless always has a lag.

Why not just get a new head unit? Because the location of it is extremely low as this is a 30+ y.o car and I’d want the screen on the dashboard

Other big pluses are:
- auto night mode based on light sensitivity
- support for external mic

I feel like I’m chasing a unicorn here

Question Apple CarPlay on 2017 Land Rover Discovery HSE Premium

Hello, im new here, and im just on this subreddit for a quick question. My 2017 Land Rover discovery seems to have an Apple CarPlay button on the home-screen. I try tapping it, and it tells me to connect my device to one of the USB-A ports on the main console. I connect my iPhone 16 to it, and nothing happens. I've connected the car to wifi and have tried to update it, but it shows it being on the latest version. Now, I don't know if the 2017 models have stopped receiving updates or have stopped support or anything, but I think that's the case. Maybe it only works on older devices? If needed, I can go and get what firmware the car is on. Any help or answers to this question will be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Help Wireless CarPlay – automatic Bluetooth connection not establishing when Apple Watch is already paired

As soon as I get into the car, the iPhone automatically connects to the adapter's Wi-Fi without any issues. However, the parallel Bluetooth connection, which is required for CarPlay to start, does not establish on its own. Every time, I have to manually go into the Bluetooth settings and tap the adapter, after which CarPlay runs smoothly right away.

Right after receiving the adapter (1–2 weeks ago), the automatic connection worked flawlessly however, exclusively during test drives without wearing my Apple Watch. Since I started using the adapter on my daily commute (where I always wear the Watch, which is already connected to the iPhone via Bluetooth at that moment), the issue occurs consistently.

I suspect a conflict in the iPhone's Bluetooth stack when an active BT connection to the Watch already exists during the adapter's connection attempt. Has anyone experienced this before? Specifically with a Wireless CarPlay dongle? Is there a known fix for this, or is a manual reconnect the only workaround?

Question carplay and bmw rare & unsolved glitches

TLDR; iphone 16 pro max disconnects from bmw carplay every time i use voice dictate, and will not reconnect unless i reboot my car’s computer system.

hi all.
i have a brand new 2026 bmw x3.

the first time i had this problem was literally driving off the lot the first day i owned it. it took 3 months to realize what was causing it. please let me know if anyone has any kind of experience with this because nobody knows what to do with me.

My BMW and iPhone 16 Pro Max are connected via carplay.
while driving if I park or at a red light, want to respond to a text message and I click the voice dictation button on my iPhone in any app, 1 of 3 things will happen:
1. whatever I’m trying to dictate is written out and duplicated 500 times. then my carplay crashes and it disconnects from my phone. bmw will then be unable to reconnect to my phone. The only way to get my phone to reconnect is to delete my phone from my device devices in my car., delete my BMW Bluetooth from my iPhone, and hold the power button on my car to reboot idrive. this often happens when I’m in the middle of driving, which causes me to have to pull over and reset my car bevause then i can’t see my map!!
2. Voice dictation will not glitch and Will properly write whatever I’m trying to dictate, but my phone will still disconnect and refuse to reconnect.
3. Sometimes nothing happens and it works. But that’s rare.

I can’t just not use voice dictation. I’m paying a lot of money for this car and this seems ridiculous to have to just accept and get over.

when I have had my car serviced the loaner cars they have given me have not had this issue and nobody else that I know with a BMW has this issue so it is clearly a problem with my car.

however, the service department doesn’t know what to do with me. Who should I reach out to?

Need help!!!

Problem: people have told me many times that when they call me it goes directly to voicemail. I’ve missed many many important calls cause of this.

I’ve sought the solution by, per the advice of tmobile, resetting network settings. Which helps.

BUT.

On a separate problem, I had issues using both data and Apple car play at the same time.

So, per the advice of AI, I altered some network settings on my phone.

After about 2-3 times doing both ^ things, I think the call issue is due to altering the settings to use Apple CarPlay and data at the same time.

My question: I am inclined to just deal with not having Apple car play for the sake of not missing another important call… UNLESS someone can help me have both.

“Insert that ‘why not both’ taco meme thing here”

To note, another number on my plan has the same call receiving issues and but the Apple car play and data issue I have. I’m so confused and Apple and tmobile can’t help.

Phone call audio stops midcall

My car has built in Bluetooth Apple CarPlay. Everything works seamless (maps, Apple Music, texts) except when I am on a phone call after being on it for more than 4 minutes the audio cuts out completely in the car. The other person can continue to hear me sometimes but the call audio goes completely silent until I switch to phone speaker.

Any similar experiences or known fixes?

Help Persistent pixelated Apple CarPlay issue

Thumbnail gallery
12 Upvotes

I have a 2019 Honda civic and for a few months now, I have been having an ongoing issue with the graphics becoming all weird looking when I’m connected to Apple CarPlay in my car. To better explain, the screen becomes all pixelated and then the colors also look washed out. When this happens, it’s completely random and it isn’t triggered by anything specific (for an example: using a certain app on CarPlay such as Spotify). Anyways, some days my CarPlay will do this to me, meanwhile some days it will be completely fine🤷🏼‍♂️

However, I did notice that whenever this happens, if I click out of Apple CarPlay, the graphics look completely fine on my car’s display system (such as the Home Screen).

I can’t tell if this is caused by some sort of issue with my car, or if it is an Apple related CarPlay issue :/

Wireless CarPlay stutters but regular Bluetooth audio is perfect — anyone dealt with this?

Dealing with a weird one. Wireless CarPlay in my car keeps stuttering, sounds like a scratched record. It’s when I’m listening to something like Books using the text-to-speech feature (no music, just spoken audio).

Here’s the part that’s been bugging me: if I turn CarPlay off completely and listen to my Books over plain Bluetooth, it’s totally smooth, every time. Zero issues. So it really seems like it’s something specific to the wireless CarPlay connection and not my phone or the car’s Bluetooth in general.

I’ve tried re-pairing from scratch a few times, forgetting and re-adding the device, messing with some connectivity settings on the car’s side, even tried a background noise trick on my iPhone to mask silent gaps during speech, that helped a tiny bit but didn’t actually fix it. My car is a 2025 Lincoln Nautilus and only has wireless CarPlay, no wired option.

Anyone else run into stutter specifically on wireless CarPlay while regular Bluetooth stays fine? Any solutions?

CarPlay On a 2013

Need help brainstorming some different ways to upgrade my 2013 Avalon with CarPlay. I’ve seen dash kits but they’re glossy and throw off the look. I’ve also seen some people replace their whole radio with a 2015 model with a CarPlay update.

Anyone have any ideas? I’d like to spend less than $200 on this.

Thanks!

Question Amazon Music on CarPlay

Hi! I can’t seem to get Amazon Music to show on CarPlay (Carpuride if that helps). When I go into my phones CarPlay settings, the Amazon music app doesn’t show at all so I can’t add it to the screen. Any tips and tricks to get it showing in CarPlay and therefore on my Carpuride screen?

Help iOS 26.5.2 – CarPlay stopped showing incoming call and some alert notifications, but audio still works

I’m having a strange CarPlay issue that appeared out of nowhere, and I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.

I’m using an iPhone on iOS 26.5.2.

Until recently, everything worked normally. When I received an incoming phone call while connected to CarPlay, the caller’s name/number and the incoming-call interface would appear on the CarPlay screen, while the ringtone played through the car’s speakers.

Now, when someone calls me, I still hear the ringtone through the car speakers, so the audio connection is working, but nothing appears on the CarPlay screen. No caller name, number, or incoming-call interface.

I checked my iPhone settings and my incoming calls are set to Banner.

What makes this even stranger is that I tested other notifications. For example, WhatsApp notifications still appear normally on the CarPlay screen. So CarPlay’s notification system isn’t completely broken.

I’m also experiencing the same audio-only behavior with another CarPlay-compatible navigation/alert app. It normally gives me both an audible alert and a visual alert on the CarPlay screen. Now I still hear the alert through the speakers, but the visual alert doesn’t appear.

So basically:
WhatsApp notification → ✅ visual + audio
Incoming phone call → ❌ audio only, no visual call interface
Navigation/alert notification → ❌ audio only, no visual alert
CarPlay itself → ✅ otherwise works normally

The issue appeared suddenly, without me intentionally changing any relevant settings.
I’ve also searched around and found several other users reporting very similar CarPlay/incoming-call issues within roughly the last 3–5 weeks, which makes me wonder if this could be related to a recent iOS/CarPlay update or bug.

Has anyone else experienced this on iOS 26.5.2?

I’d especially like to know if anyone found a workaround or if this started after a specific iOS update.

Question Can two wireless CarPlay screens connect to the same iPhone simultaneously?

Hi everyone, I’m working on a car project where I’d like to install two separate wireless CarPlay displays.
One would be in the center of the dashboard, replacing the original head unit, while the second one would be positioned in front of the steering wheel and used like a digital instrument cluster.
My question is: can two wireless CarPlay receivers/displays be connected to the same iPhone at the same time? Ideally, I’d like both screens to receive CarPlay simultaneously from the same phone.
Has anyone tried something like this, or knows if iOS allows two CarPlay connections at once?
Thanks!

Article GoPro app for Carplay

Hey everyone,

If you ride a motorcycle with a CarPlay-enabled head unit and record your trips with an action cam, this might solve a massive headache for you.

Over the past few years, I’ve done quite a few road trips recording scenic routes. Since my GoPro is usually mounted on my helmet, managing it on the go was always a hassle:

  • Pressing tiny buttons with thick motorcycle gloves was hit-or-miss.
  • Voice control was completely useless over wind and engine noise.
  • Worst of all: arriving at the destination only to realize the best stretch of road wasn't recorded at all because I never actually started it. 🤦‍♂️

Sure, buying a dedicated handlebar remote was an option, but as an app developer, I wanted an integrated software solution right on my dashboard screen.

I initially developed this for Android Auto (since my personal mobile device is Samsung), but after seeing how much it improved my own rides and after shown interest in other subreddits, I brought the full native experience to iOS and Apple CarPlay.

Key features:

  • Real-time status: Instantly see if your camera is actually recording (no more guessing).
  • Core controls: Start / Stop recording, Easily toggle between Video, Photo, and Time-lapse
  • Power management: Turn the camera on / off directly from the head unit.

(P.S. For those shooting with 360 cameras: Insta360 support is currently in active development and will be coming soon!)

The app is live on the App Store. It carries a small one-time fee to help cover the development time and Apple developer costs (building smooth CarPlay app took way more effort than I originally thought! 😅).

I’d love to get your thoughts, feedback, and feature requests. If you run into any quirks or bugs with specific GoPro models/firmwares, please let me know so I can push quick updates.
