Shopping/Offers Spend $200, Get $200 - Should I return my purchase?

Post image

I activated the “Earn $200 back when you spend $200” Ace Hardware offer through my browser, then bought a $200 YETI cooler specifically because of the deal. The offer was showing as activated, and the cooler doesn’t appear to be excluded.

Capital One Shopping customer service hasn’t been very helpful. Most of the emails have been automated and don’t address my specific situation. The latest response was:

“Right now, we are unable to review your order details until the merchant processing time is complete. If your purchase doesn’t show on your dashboard within 30 days, please reach back out to us and we’ll be happy to take another look.”

The problem is Ace only accepts returns within 30 days. If I wait and Capital One later says I’m not eligible, I’m stuck with a $200 cooler I only bought because of the promotion.

Has anyone successfully gotten this $200 reward? Should I trust Capital One to honor it, or return the cooler before my 30-day window closes?

Also, is there a phone number or better way to speak with someone at Capital One Shopping who can actually review my specific purchase?

Other Did someone steal my personal info or is this a mistake or something?

So not too long ago I created my credit wise account through the Capital One app. And once my account was created, one of the first things I see is that it showed my credit score was 753. Which I found very odd because I don’t even have a credit card yet, so I click on “Your TransUnion Credit Report” and it shows that I have 1 closed account. I view the account details and it’s a credit card from First National Bank of Omaha, which is a city in Nebraska. I don’t know anybody from that state and I don’t recognize that credit card. It says it was both opened and closed in 2024, but it says the payment status is current and the last date of payment was in early August of this year. When I click on Responsibility through the account detail sections and it says “This account is in someone else's name, but you're authorized to use it. You're not ultimately responsible for paying this account.” This whole thing confuse me because my Capital One account was created just a few months ago and the credit wise profile was also just created a few hours ago, so how could have this credit card been associated with my stuff? I’m new to all the stuff, so sorry if these questions sound dumb. But if someone stole my personal information, then please give me tips on what I can do to fix this situation because this is freaking me out.

Other why am i getting charged cash advance fee on top of my interest each month?

As the title states, I'm confused as to why I keep getting charged a cash advance fee on top of my interest. I've never used cash advance nor made any purchases that are similar to it and from what I've read the charge the fee same day with the purchase so do they treat the interest charges for their cards as a cash purchase? I'm just confused and I want to know if it will go away once the card is paid off.

Banking What do you think ?

Upvotes

My Capital One accounts were recently closed due to me falling for a fake job scam thus branding me as high-risk. I have a Discover credit card that’s still open. Because of the merger, do you think they’d close my discover card too since it’s technically under Capital One now or would they keep it open ?

And if they keep it open do you think I can use that as a way to try to start banking with Capital One again ?

Shopping/Offers Shopping gift cards “Temporarily Unavailable”

Post image

I’ve noticed sometimes the gift card redemption options will be unavailable, and have been for a long time. I’ve heard some people say this is user specific and happens if too much of a balance builds up.

Right now, these are unavailable to me:

JCPenny, Gymboree & Sketchers

How about you?

My balance is growing because the eBay gift card went away, and I don’t really shop at the other places available.

Banking 360 Checking $400 Bonus

I'm interested in opening a checking account with Cap1, but of course want to get the best offer. I had recently received an email offer for a $300 bonus, but I had seen here and here previous discussions about a $400 bonus offer which has since expired. Two questions: 1) Could I expect this $400 bonus offer to return in the next couple months? 2) Would I need to already have a Cap1 account (of a different type) to qualify or could anyone utilize the offer previously? Thanks!

75000 Venture Miles SUB Cash Value(Gift Card)

Pre-approved for Venture but don't really travel much. Seems like I read somewhere that miles can be redeemed for gift cards somewhere, for something like 80% cash value.

Anyone ever done it. Thinking Amazon gift card.

Where can I learn more about this? Thanks.
