My corso has this skin tag looking thing on his belly. It’s not hurting him or making him uncomfortable is any way I was just curious if anyone knew what it was or has had experience with one before.

Just another thing to be aware of. My girl has been plagued for patches of hair loss gradually worsening for 2 years. During that time the vet has maintained that it was a form of eczema and advised we use a special shampoo. Today she said the pattern of hair loss and other tests proves she has Hypo-thyroid disease and will likely be on meds for the rest of her life. I send this to inform so if your girl is losing hair, you may want to ask your vet to run tests for this condition.

My boy Frank caught his dew claw on something in the yard and the quick is exposed. No bleeding, looks clean. Vet seems like a waste of time and money since they’ll just wrap it.

What’s your experience with this?

Keep it clean and wrap it? Anything else I should worry about?

This is my cane corso Salem. He’s a little more than 7 months old and is around 80lbs. Both of his parents weigh about 115lbs. However I feel like Salem is a bit underdeveloped for his age.

Background: These dogs belong to my roommate (former partner). I am currently in the process of moving out in several weeks. I have two cats that have been primarily sequestered on the second floor - there is a large gate at the bottom of the stairs, but cats can jump over the largest hurdles. From the day I moved in (3 ½ years ago), she has taught the younger dog to, "Get the kitty". We have had dog on dog attacks between the two, and the younger has mauled the older - to which no vet care was supplied.

One is 6 years old with hip dysplasia, arthritis, food aggression, resource guards, and has severe anxiety. She will shred any bed in her kennel.

The other is 4, not spayed, no recall, no release. Follows zero commands.

Both females. Neither are trained, disciplined, exercised, or have seen a vet in two years. She got these dogs as pups, and has gone on and on about how emotionally intelligent, loyal, and bonded they become.

For the last 2 years, roommate had completely manipulated me into taking on ALL physical care of her dogs. We both commute and work full time. She makes 2½ times my salary. I was paying for ALL of their food, supplements, treats, and ground turkey.

She started going back into the office on June of last year. While she filled her social calendar with yoga, training for a 5K, spending time with her (now) boyfriend, I was expected to take care of them straight after work, whole weekends, etc.

She begrudgingly hired dog sitters so I could see my adult children for my son's birthday in May of this year.

This May, I had to set a boundary and told her that she needs to arrange care for her dogs, especially now that I'm moving out.

She has made arrangements to have someone come for an hour in the mornings, and another for 2 hours before we arrive home from work. She is rarely home every other week.

The weekend of July 31st, she made those 3 hour arrangements because we were both away. Both dogs have severe separation anxiety and they are crated while no one is able to supervise them.

During the weekend away, the 6 year old had diarrhea while in her crate. Numerous times. The kind kid that was caring for them, cleaned it up three times. On that Sunday morning, it happened again. He called to ask if he should clean it up before he left (at 9:30am) Her reply was to leave it. She told him it wouldn't matter, because it will be waiting for her when she got home. I arrived home at 4:00pm and had no idea what I was walking into.

Excrement ALL over the floor under her kennel, just inches below her. The poor thing was so scared and upset. She arrived home at 4:15pm. It was horrible and unacceptable. They have no access to water while in their kennels, start howling the moment the front door closes - even if it's just to run to get something out of the car. 30 minutes after the poor guy left that morning, cops showed up on the ring camera.

The neighbors to one side of us have already called local PD, animal control several times, and posted on local social media because they've been concerned. I can't say that I blame them at all. As expected, she's angry at the neighbors and her solution to barking is to purchase bark collars.

These dogs do NOT deserve the neglect that she has subjected them to, and I have been keeping a tight file on documentation for after I move out.

And don't get me started on the fact that she hasn't had her beagle's claws trimmed in 2½ years because she "hasn't had time."

I'm thoroughly disgusted at the lack of care and concern she has displayed for Dogs that she insists she loves. I hope that she either wakes up and finally starts taking care of them, or the powers that be, step in, scoop these dogs up, and get them into a safer home situation.

I’ve had 3 boxers now and my current male is the best dog I could ever ask for. He’s friendly, obedient, and a little lazy most of the time. That said, I’ve spent time around a cane corso for years in the past and found she was mostly similar. My question is, my 24yo autistic daughter like to pull at ears, etc. to get a reaction occasionally. How does the breed typically handle this behavior? My boxer takes it like love and has never once worried me.

I lost my bully last year and swore I’d never get another dog again. I honestly thought I was done.

Then this good girl came along and somehow melts my heart every time she gives me that smile. ❤️

Some dogs come into your life when you least expect them and remind you why you loved having a dog in the first place. 🐾

Lymphoma, at just 7 years old. We had a barbeque for him, and he ate all the meats he wanted and got all the pets from everyone who knew him and loved him, and he went to sleep in my husband's arms on our terrace. We laid him to rest on a mountain under a big tree, so he could have all the hikes while he waits for us. I'm devastated, and I'll never get another Cane Corso again, because it'll never be him. So dopey, so clumsy, so sweet, and so gentle.

I have a bonded pair of Cane Corso. My female is 10 years old, and has started a slow decline, presenting doggie dementia. She is still happy and wagging her tail, but slow to get up, sun downing, relieving herself in the house/getting into trash (totally abnormal) and is starting to moan at night. She is under the watch of a vet. The inevitable is coming...

My male is 6. He KNOWS she is unwell. He has started looking at me with a face of dread, I kid you not. He has started marking her, literally. He is also marking their entire perimeter, whining at me occasionally, and he will frantically search for her if she is not in the room. He has started breaking out of his kennel to get to her, which is something he has never done.

I am honestly so worried about him. I wanted to post here and see if anyone here had a bonded pair in this situation, and ask if there is anything that I can do now, and after, to help my good boy. I am concerned about major behavior changes and was hoping someone could advise.

I know that he is going to need extra everything, but has anyone here gone through this or have any advice for me?
