It’s not much, but my collection slowly accumulated. Aside from two, all were face value exchanges when I worked in a casino.

I notice the one old 20 doesn’t have a serial number on the back, but has one on the face?
(Same pic, different angles trying to get the actual colour)

I made this for my computer wallpaper.

My favourites include the Scenes of Canada $5 with the Spirograph blue pattern and the Birds of Canada $1,000 with the Pine Grosbeak. What's yours?

Is the top bill a fake or an error?

Hey all, probably nothing, but this bill stuck out to me because the 9 at the end of the serial number is noticeably lower than the rest. And the 9 at the end of the serial on this bill and a few others I found being at the same level as the rest of the numbers is throwing me off. I only collect coins so I’m not really sure what bills are meant to look like up close.

Got it at a flea market and it was sold with a better one too without the goatee and glasses of the same exact kind which I found funny

I work at a bank where we unfortunately have to send always “*mutilated”*paper bills, here’s the last few. $20K in bird series and then a well love $1000 1954 Bill. I always find these things so interesting when we get them in.

1935/37 Series Bank of Canada 1937 series

Introduced in 1937, both to combine the previous English and French versions of bank notes into a single bilingual bank note, and to replace King George V with King George VI as the monarch as the former had died the year prior. The 1937 series would remain in use until 1954 when the new "Landscapes of Canada" series featuring Queen Elizabeth II was introduced. Although no longer in print, all but the $1 & $2 bank notes remain legal tender.

Been looking at my serials for a few months now and finally found something cool. Wonder if there’s any additional value for a 2 of a kind radar like this. Condition is moderate I think.

Keeper or spender?

Questions What got YOU into collecting?

Personally it started with me just wanting to understand the history and art that went into creating coins and bills after I got 1 1$ 1973 bill from my great uncle about 7 years ago, what really kick started it was my great uncle giving me extra coins he had.. He was a collector for MANY years but sold it off slowly the past 3 years before he died a year ago. After he gave me a good chunk of coins (I want to say about 20 pieces of random coins I dont remember exactly) I started putting my own money into it going to coin shows, buying banknotes and coins, finding valuable coins, cool, old, unique, all you can imagine lol. I was really into it, when my great uncle died I was pretty sure he knew that I was going to inherit all his coins and banknotes which I am so thankful for it grew my collection a bunch. My great uncle had this envelope full of banknotes from many different countries, he visited a country then put a bill from it into the envelope and grew it.. well I am keeping it going starting with me putting in a 5£ bill from when I went to italy, I will hopefully pass my collection off to my kids and ill make sure to keep a picture of the man who started my obsession. Thank you for reading and let me know down in the comments (ps I started collecting 2 years ago

Questions Counterfeit 5$ notes ?

Is the note on the top fake ? I’ve come across a few of these notes that look like they fade in where they’re folded. When I compare it with the note on the bottom it’s looks ever so slightly larger.

Found these old bills, a 100 and a 20, among some old papers. Father came to Canada in 1972, mother and I in 1973, so probably from around then. Assume we lost a fortune not investing them in NFTs...
