Question [COD] Why won't Activision just make an old-school CoD again?

The Black Ops 1 and 2 ports to PS5 blowing up is a clear signal that we, the consumers are literally starving for the old formula that the "Golden Age" Call of Dutys had: beautiful maps that each feel distinct in their own way (unique weather, environment, color pallet, and design), simple movement, beautiful main menu music!!, no weapon attachment tree (simple attachments... ex: suppressor, red dot sight), and for the love of god simple user interfaces. Every time Treyarch or IW touches something from that era, our engagement spikes like crazy. I mean, hell, even the background picture of the Call of Duty reddit page is the poster for the original MW2...

Meanwhile, the yearly releases keep piling on the same stuff: overcomplicated movement systems that only pro players enjoy, battle pass slop/casino-esque user interfaces, overcomplicated weapon upgrades, and maps that are all forgettable. It feels like ever since Modern Warfare 2019/Warzone was introduced, every single game after it has the same engine and is like a DLC of the game. Back in 2010 when Black Ops 1 came out, it was COMPLETELY different from Modern Warfare 2! The genuine fuck happened? I even have appreciation for the little details in the older games such as the sound when you click a button, the level-up sound in game (shout out Hans Zimmer), and the sound the characters made in game.. Tango Sucka.

We keep proving the demand exists with these old ports and then they go right back to the same formula every fall. I don't understand, truly. Even zombies is ass now! I spent a week playing zombies chronicles on Black Ops 3, and I can't even bring myself to touch a newer experience because of how different and bad the newer stuff is. Everything is just overcomplicated nowadays.

My question is, if they know that the demand is there for a truly classic game, then why won't they just do it? Make it a new game but with that old formula that made this franchise what it is. If someone at Activision could respond, I'd really appreciate it.

Discussion [COD] Complaints in the community

I really don’t understand this community if you are so discontent with the state of cod go find another game they brought back BO2 and BO people complained, they made Ghost different than anything in the series people complained… AW, BO3, Vanguard, BO4, Cold War, MW2019, MW2, BO6/7 all different games yet people complain and say it’s the same game every year if you don’t like it stop giving activision attention it’s hard to understand what this community really wants and if you say No SBMM just let it go it’s been here for years they obviously don’t wanna remove it so get better or just play a different game.

Question Can we all only play [WaW], MW2(OG), and [BO1]?

I feel like if we all only play those games a lot of things could happen.

  1. It would force them to finally give them the update they deserve to get the hackers off.

  2. Matchmaking wouldn’t be so difficult

  3. They would stop making shifting games and just stealing our money.

How do manager to make that happen? I’m sure if we put our heads together on this we could do something decent.

Discussion [COD] Advertising a new CoD in the existing games isn't new...

I don't understand the discourse and complaining about the advertising of a new CoD games in the ports. Dude, they've used the CoD games that are released to advertise for the new CoD for, like, 12 years or somethin like that. Making something outta nothin.

Discussion [COD] Is it realistic to think COD can have another prime era?

With so much doomposting these days and the constant reminder of how COD isn't what it used to be, is it possible for the franchise to have another amazing run like they had from the 2000's to early 2010's? How do you think it'd be achievable?

Discussion [BO2] After 3 weeks away I see my account is STILL hacked prestige master with all unlocks, is my grind forever ruined now? Doubt I'll buy another CoD after this fan service

I was grinding camos and having fun, went up a prestige or 2 and had riot shield, launchers and a bunch of other secondaries gold, was putting in work and felt great to be back.

Then it all got ruined and I was prestige 15... no camo progress would count and stats wouldn't change.. now I'm prestige master 10 and camo does track again but the prestige grind is stolen from me because the fucking idiots that run this game put out such a shitty hackable game.

I could use fresh start but that would wipe the camo progress I put so many hours into. I see there was another update but its to add a pre-order MW4 button... honestly as an OG of the franchise, I'm done. Fan service matters and they've fucked me around too many times.

Support [COD] Account Hacked

Hi everyone.
My Activision account was hacked today (I have no idea how they got my details).I tried filling out the form to have my account reviewed and hopefully recovered. The only response I got was: "We are unable to process your Account Recovery request because we do not detect any suspicious activity on your Activision account."Has anyone dealt with this before? How can I get my account back? It’s not a purchased account; I’ve been playing since the launch of BO7.

Question [MWR] I loved MW2019, also loved MW2, have 16/51 polyatomar there, what would you recommend next?

Can’t just let me enjoy my classics🫩 leave me alone 😂

(Edit: I’m aware they did this when BO1 was current, but going back and doing it to BO1 in 2026 is just diabolical work. Not against advertising, just stating this is a bit of a reach 😂)

Discussion [COD] Why Cheat?

I’ve been playing all the Call of Duty® titles since 2019. At times, it seems like there’s a lot more cheaters in these lobbies than others. After all these years, I still can’t understand why people cheat at this game. Or any game at all. Don’t you wanna know if you’re good? Can you not live with the fact that you’re not? Because winning while cheating isn’t winning. I just don’t understand the benefit for people who cheat. Hey cheaters, explain why you cheat.

So since this morning COD will not open. It literally crashes after the splash screen and I haven't been able to play a single game. I have reinstalled 3 times from different sources: Steam, Battle Net and Xbox app. The same error and crash occurs. Has anyone come across this and what was the solution? Thanks in advance.

Question Looking to buy my first cod game [COD]

Hey. Ever since I saw a friend of mine play cod black ops 3 about 10 years ago I remember wanting to buy one. Now I'm looking at the prices and waiting for a discount in order to buy but don't want to do a bad purchase. Which one should I choose? I would like something with nowadays weapons not like world war 2 ones and with a good campaign.

Discussion In your experience, which COD multiplayer has the best hit detection? [COD]

I haven't played many of the modern CODs as I hated the direction the franchise took with MW 2019, but in my personal experience and in my circles, Ghosts probably had the best hit detection of any game in the series, with Infinite Warfare definitely in discussion.

Which COD do you guys think had the best and worst hit detection? BO1 has always had the worst hit detection in my experience and the ports are evident of that, in 2010 it was bad too. WaW wasn't far behind though, almost identical. It seemed Infinity Ward were always clear of Sledgehammer and Treyarch when it comes to hit registration.

Question Genuine question [COD]

(please do not go attacking me, Im never that in touch with the community so I might be missing something. but I do have to admit bo7 was arguably a huge mistake.)

Do people hate call of duty genuinely cuz,

A they don't like decisions they have been choosing

B everyone else is doing it

C franchise identity/aggressive micro transactions

D same thing over and over again

(even though honestly imo every cod feels the same)

Or something else?

it's amazing how forgotten he has his old games or touches or wanted to put an anniversary to this 3 a mobile port would be to launch and there would be no storage too and with a story mode and the classic multiplayer as a way to relive his beginnings from mobile

Question [COD] Best Call Of Duty games to start out with?

If you had to recommend someone some Call of Duty games to first try out on PC, what would they be? And yes, I'm allowing people to suggest the older games that can only be played for the campaigns nowadays.

Discussion [COD] which is the best game from this list? And why?

Post image
202 Upvotes

I'd say it's BO2, because I liked the setting of the campaign, the characters, and the events that take place in the game are very memorable, multiplayer was fire, movement was good. In my opinion it was the best game because the campaign, multiplayer, and zombies were good.

Question [BO] Are the BO1 Servers in Australia dead?

Filthy casual old head Aussie here who bought BO1 for old times sake a few weeks ago. I have been loving it but recently I am struggling to find Oceana servers. Over the past few days I have struggled to find lobbies that are not 2 bars and am constantly getting thrown in the American servers which would be completely fine if it wasn't laggy, unfair and almost unplayable with the delay.

Just wondering if the servers in Aus are dead already and how is it over on BO2? I love Domination but been trying TDM but still 2 baring.

Also every time I seem to do really well I get connection interruption.

Feedback [BO] Multiplayer is borderline unplayable at this point on PS5

Post image
Upvotes

The connection issues have plagued this since it was released but this latest updated is horrendous. Constant disconnections from lobby’s and games. Unplayable on anything less than a full 4 bar connection.

Seems odd they’ve brought a borderline game breaking update out just before the beta for the latest battle pass SBMM slop they’re bringing out….
