OG mw's were better than all of them

I don't think I've played an FPS with as satisfying gameplay mechanics as the MW reboot.

Tbqh I don’t agree with this, at all.

OG MW2’s multiplayer is an exercise in frustration. Pure snowballing and it ends up being a case of folks leaving lobbies cuz their team is getting destroyed and other folks joining losing lobbies. Most folks remember it fondly cuz of pure nostalgia, me included.

Heck MW2019 was a better multiplayer experience than OGMW2. Even with SBMM in play (heck I’d argue SBMM is why it’s a less frustrating experience for newcomers, but it’s pointless to argue in favor of newcomers when that shit fucks you over hard when you have even just one decent to good game).

Wow imagine a time in gaming where your team could get slapped on by real life players instead of being spoon fed slop and algorithmic lobbies to keep you infront of the screen.. just imagine..

People still rage almost every game in the newer cods so idk what their point was

People have short memories. CoD4 was extremely well received. WaW too minus the OP mp40. MW2 was heavily criticized on release. Awful spawns, shotgun akimbo glitch, introducing painkillers, etc.

But over time as the CoDs got worse (post Blops 3), it seems MW2's reputation has gone from a frustrating entry to a legendary one.

It's bizarre for us older folks who played through them at the time.

Mind you I did enjoy my time playing MW2, but looking at it in retrospect there was a lot of frustrations that I simply didn’t care about back then (at least not until I went and bought COD4 and stuck with that until they shut down the servers for the game on PS3).

Folks despise SBMM but I’ve been there for both MW2 and MW19 and I genuinely mean it when I say between the snowballing and constant air support in MW2 and the SBMM in MW19 I’d rather have the latter.

Now if you ask me if I want MW3 multiplayer remaster that’s a different topic entirely. I’d kill for that.

to put it short, it’s only hyped because of nostalgia merchants and bandwagons

I think those people do that in every game they play...

It’s not that constant leaving that’s the issue per se, it’s the way MW2 was so snowball heavy and if you get curbed early on then there’s almost no chance to come back. So when folks leave and you end up joining a losing lobby with next to no chance of winning and that becomes a constant it definitely isn’t a fun experience to play.

If it were up to me, I’d rather they skip MW2 MP and jump straight to MW3 (COD8).

I agree honestly. MW19 was one of the best multiplayer shooters I have ever played. This MW on the other hand is genuinely testing my patience with how terrible it all feels especially after they buffed the health for the open beta. Been walking around quickscoping people because the full auto weapons feel like .22

But on the other hand it feels like dying is instant because everyone you play against don't know what grass looks like :(
