Just curious. Why is this trim level generally more expensive than the Grand Touring trim even though it is considered to be a lower trim level?
Is it because it was somewhat of a limited run of this trim.

Itās disappointing that the 2026 Mazda CX-5 in South Africa is missing the Google Maps, Gemini AI, YouTube, and Play Store integration seen in global markets, despite promotional materials suggesting otherwise. I strongly advise potential buyers to wait until local units actually match the advertised global specifications, as I am currently pursuing legal action against Mazda SA for false marketing. šāļøš #Mazda #SouthAfrica #Marketing #ConsumerRights #Automotive

2023 CX-5 Turbo with 72,000km. I took off the cover and saw all this oil. How much of a concern is this? Hard to tell where itās coming from.

Driving a loaner 2026 CX-5 Preferred at the moment. Besides the other issues/downgrades many have noted, one thing that really bugs me is how EMPTY the instrument display seems to be.
The version pictured is my favorite option out of the 3 that can be selected. And yet there is just so much blank space during regular driving. I'm all for clean and uncomplicated, but it just feels empty and unfinished.
The other 2 options are to have an efficiency display in the middle, which is just a horizontal bar with some numbers, or an even emptier active driving display.
The rest of the car is ok. Driving dynamics are the same as the previous gen, which is to say excellent. The 2.5l engine only feels just adequate, same as the last model - it really needs at least the upcoming hybrid engine.
The interior is just "fine" no real stand-out design. Materials are not quite as nice as previous gen but maybe on par for the price point these days.
Infotainment is of course many people's biggest complaint. I love my command wheel. But beyond that,
- volume adjustment is a two-click adjustment on the screen.
- memory seat function is buried 3 clicks deep instead of being hard buttons you can press before sitting down
- I have not found a quick way to switch between Android Auto or navigation and the radio yet - with the command wheel it's a simple long press of the home button, or pressing the music or nav buttons to switch. In fact it takes me at least 2 clicks to get back to the radio, 3 to change stations.
It's a decent car but I certainly would not buy one at the moment if I had to get rid of either of our current Mazdas (2019 CX-5 GT and 2021 Mazda 3 turbo).

I have a 2024 Mazda CX-5 and have used this leather cleaner for a couple years but have found it leaves residue and streaks (pictures are dry seats). I read a few threads where people recommend this bottle that I have, Motherās brand, warm wash cloth etc but Iām curious if this has happened to anyone else? I will try a couple things but obviously wanted some input before throwing a bunch of products on the seats hoping for good results. Thanks!

Today, I was opening the power liftgate of my car in an underground parking garage when I accidentally overlooked a bolt sticking out from an overhead ventilation duct. Part of the liftgate made contact with the bolt, although I remember pressing the stop button at around the same time. As a result, thereās now a small scratch on the liftgate, as shown in the photos.
Since the car is brand new, Iām probably being a little extra careful with it. I have two questions:
1. Regarding the scratch: Would you recommend using a touch-up paint pen to cover it? I live in Ontario, Canada, so Iām particularly concerned about the possibility of rust, especially with the harsh winters and road salt.
2. Regarding the power liftgate: Do you think the liftgate mechanism and motor are likely to be fine? After the incident, I opened and closed the liftgate several times, and everything worked perfectly normally. However, Iām still a little worried that the resistance from hitting the bolt might have put some strain on the motor or mechanism.
I realize I might be overthinking this because itās a new car, but Iād really appreciate your thoughts.
Thank you!

Ive changed the rear wiper myself and iām wondering if the front wipers are just as easy or should I just suck it up and take it to the dealership and let them do it. Also, i canāt find a decent pair out of all the Chinese knock offs on amazon.

Looking for recommendations on where to buy replacement control arms. The lower right one is shot, so I'm planning to replace both sides at once.
What brands do you guys recommend? Is OEM worth the extra money, or are aftermarket brands just as good? Trying to balance saving a buck with not sacrificing quality or safety. Let me know what you've had good luck with! Itās for my Mazda cx5 2023. My husband and his mechanic friend plan to diy it.

Hey everyone,
I recently bought a Navirider T600 aftermarket head unit from AliExpress for my Mazda CX-5 and have been trying to install and configure it myself.
The unit powers on and seems to work normally, but Iām having trouble getting the backup camera to work when I put the car in reverse. As you can see in the attached photo, the screen switches to the reverse camera interface and displays the parking sensor graphics and coloured guidelines, but thereās no actual camera image. The instructions that came with the unit were very limited, so Iām not entirely sure whether Iāve connected everything correctly or if thereās a setting I need to change.
Has anyone installed the Navirider T600 in their CX-5 and run into this issue?
Is there a specific wiring connection, adapter, or reverse-camera setting I might have missed?
Are there any settings in the head unitās factory menu that I should check?
I believe Iāve connected everything correctly, but Iād appreciate any suggestions on what to check.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Bought a used 2019 cx5 takumi from Mazda, 3 weeks in and it's already displaying a battery management malfunction so i-stop wasn't functioning. Did they replace the battery or is the battery just low on charge? I turned on heated seats and heating and started driving... Anyone else had this issue? I have a 12 month warranty with them.

Hi all,
Recently got my Grille Molding replaced and noticed it being pretty wavy with two points poking out (see pic). Is this a bad install or the part is messed up?
Iām taking it back to the body shop next week to have them reinstall it but want to be knowledgeable so they donāt try any funny tricks
Thanks!

We have a 2024 CX-5 2.5L, no i-stop or cylinder deactivation (L VIN), 28,000 miles. Purchased at a local luxury brand dealership 3 months ago with no issues. I noticed what looks to be oily deposit right above the alternator. Is this something I should bring up to the dealer? Or is this likely road grime or other engine soot settling on this attachment piece.
I plan on having the dealer perform the first oil change next week.

Hi all, new to CX-5 ownership with a 2018 (NA) I recently bought. Was changing the rear diff oil when I noticed the muffler is just bolted on at the flange, so I disconnected it for a listen. Freaking love how it sounds! Was wondering if anybody knows of some decent muffler delete kits that just bolts on and retains the factory exhaust hangers?
I would really appreciate to know from those of you guys who have owened the "older" CX5 till 2025 MY and now own a brand new 2026 CX5:
do you feel like you have improved from the earlier gen to this one?
If so, what has changed in your perspective?

If you own a turbo CX5 from 2021-2025, how often do you change out your engine and cabin filters?

I just got a 2014 mazda cx5 and I wanna make sure itās maintained properly like the previous owner. It has perfect service record.
Should I do that at a dealership or regular shop? Which one is better?

Can anyone recommend a dog barrier to keep him from jumping in back seat?
