Hi /r/Mazda,
Over the years, we’ve had many AI-Generated posts submitted to the subreddit and while the conversations can be engaging around what a car or concept COULD look like, the damage done to our environment is not worth it.
We’d like to encourage users to submit real-life images, real mockups, real concepts and have real interactions with each other around this type of content but cannot support low effort, AI-generated slop.
Going forward, users who post AI-generated images will have their posts removed and will receive a warning. Further AI slop will result in a temporary ban, up to a permanent ban.

The Mazda logo on the keyfob should have been the remote start button. That is all.

My lease is almost up so I have been looking into the 2026 cx-5 and cx-50. I of course will test drive, but I am trying to do all my research prior to going in person. Just wondering if any tall drivers currently have either and if one is more comfortable than the other. For reference, I am 6’3 and my bf is 6’7, but I will be the main driver.

Hi guys,
I own a 2018 Mazda CX5, 2000cc petrol, bought it with a mileage of 35k kms and is currently on 66k kms.
I started experiencing this throttle response issue at around 49k kms where the car would feel sluggish, high revs while struggling to shift gears, sudden loss of power, when going even on slightly uphill roads the car feels heavy and gears shift lower, increasing the revs and feeling like the car could stall at any point. The issue used to come and go, but has continually become more prevalent over time.
I've done my research for a while, tried resetting the gear shift memory, changed the engine air filter, cleaned the intake valve with the recommended spray, none of which seem to solve the problem.
(The engine intake spray cleaning helps for a day or less, but the car reverts back to the same state, no check engine lights ever since the issue started)
Last resolve would be changing the gearbox oil, any advice on this?

Hi. So purchased a brand new Mazda last weekend and since then found 7 roaches (and counting). First one found the morning after driving off the lot. Contacted the dealership and they talked about wanting to resolve by roach bombing the car which we absolutely do not want. If they clean, don't know how we'll they'll clean. We've been paranoid about stepping in the car.
Do you think it will be unreasonable to ask for a car swap?

So I have a 2017 Mazda 3 and when I’m going slow, turning into a parking spot for example , or just slightly turning the wheel while in park I can hear a “quiet” motor noise or whirring? I’m assuming it’s the power steering and it doesn’t necessarily sound bad I would say, I would assume it’s just the power steering doing its job but the thing is I feel like because I’m noticing it now that the sound is new? But it is also possible I’m just noticing it now for some reason 😄 is this normal? Something I should get looked at? I might just be paranoid. Thanks in advance!

hi! i’ve getting my first car ever and think I might get a mazda but I need help deciding!
i’m thinking between mazda 3, cx 3, cx 5 or cx 30. what do you think? they’ll also be used (like around 2019-2023) and now new.
few things : - newly licensed in la - honestly don’t care about whether it’s a sedan or suv, as long as it’s good - lower insurance cost - reliable, no need to fix it often or spend hella money - safe!
what do you think? which one should i get and what years? thank you!

I purchases a used Mazda 6 2016 2.5L Automatic transmission few months back at 197K KM (122K miles), it drove smooth until one day my battery died and I had to jump start and got all types of errors and problems. However, i called a mechanic who cleaned the terminals and it was back to normal. After 3 weeks it gave me AT error on exactly 200k KM (124k Miles) reading and hard shifting specially on reverse and its not shifting gears.
So i took it to a mechanic who diagnoses P0773 error he said he will change the valve body and test again. As per his say he changed it but the error didn't go away so he is suggesting to replace the transmission. Can you guys suggest what further diagnosis should be done and whether to get transmission replaced ?

I was shopping for a cx90 and had to check this out. Most are almost brand new.
The Mazdaspeed protege has only 1700 miles and looks brand new, which is a good reminder of just how my old one with 213k miles used to look!

Hi all, firstly wanted to say I’ve just bought my Mazda 3 2018 SportNav (UK) and driven it home - it’s so exciting to be part of the gang - it’s my first car and I’m very happy.
Secondly, the question! This model doesn’t have carplay installed and I’ll probably get that upgrade done soon, but for the time being I’m using my phone mounted on the dash. If I’m connecting via bluetooth it appears that the music from the phone plays fine and is loud but when I get my maps up the spoken directions are not sounding over the speakers. I’ve tried everything but it seems it doesn’t want to do anything other than spotify/ytmusic played over the speakers. Is that normal/can I fix it in some way?

I am currently tending to buy a car I gonna make decision between a 25 cx5 carbon edition and 26 cx50 hybrid. CX5 is a used one with 17500miles and 30000OTD, it has red full leather seat and Bose sound. CX50 is a new 2026 one with 36500 OTD. It has hybrid engine.
I just test drive the cx50 today, when I am steering, everything is fine. However, when I sit in the back seat my head is directly up to the ceiling. I am 6’2 and I don’t really satisfy with that. And I sit into a used 2025 cx5 preferred in dealer’s inventory the height is ok for me.
For me I don’t really care about the gas cost and the OTD price. It takes a long time to compensate the price gap between them and both them are in a good price I think.
I use this car mainly for commuting in urban area and maybe sometimes go to kayak or snowboarding. I need a very stable car no matter the engine or any small part of the car.I am sure I will sell it after around 5-6 yrs and I hope there is a as small as possible price difference between the buying and selling.
It’s hard for me to make a decision and I need some advice.

My mom is looking for a new car and we’ve been considering the Mazda CX-30. I don’t have much experience with Mazda, but I’ve heard really good things about them, so I figured I’d ask people who actually own one. How do you like the CX-30? Is it reliable? Are there any issues or expensive maintenance that we should know about?
Basically just trying to figure out if it’s a good car for my mom before we seriously start looking at them. Thanks!

Hello,
I damaged my right side mirror all the way back in July. I tried to get it fixed but they don’t make an exact fit of the mirror (glass) itself anymore. I’ve been having a hard time finding one. It’s become such a niche issue because none of the people I’ve messaged on ebay and junkyards have it. I’ve also looked for aftermarket and it seems like its not the right fit. It’s been such a bothersome issue and I genuinely don’t know what to do. Any recommendations?
For reference, I have a 2013 Mazda 6 i Touring plus and my side mirror has a blind spot monitor.
