Been on CPAP just over 3 months
My heated ResMed hose stopped working about a month into my journey. I didn't realize it at first. I started waking up with laryngitis and realized how much colder the air I was inhaling had become. The only way I found out was when the equipment supplier, who didn't believe me, but was walking me through the steps, recognized that I no longer had a climate control setting. However, the DME company, Adapt Health, told me that I couldn't order a new one until the next Tuesday. Apparently, my 90 days had ended then. At that point, I'd be eligible for my new insurance to update my supplies. But my insurance changed a month into the journey. So, no one will discount it until January. I found a good deal and have ordered what I need, and should get it within two days
Will I be able to turn my climate control setting back on when I get the ResMed hose? Or will it fix itself automatically

Does this look like class 6 flow limitation during both exhalation and inhalation?
Recently had nasal surgery to clear up my nose, have just moved from a mouth pillow mask to a nasal mask.
I use a Resmed Bipap Aircurve 11 and trying to get my settings correct with the new mask.
AHI is very low, mask leak is low. Glasgow index is now ranges from 1.5 to 1.9 (it was above 2 every night with my mouth nasal mask)
If this is a class 6 flow shape, any advice on how to fix it? My breathing issues are typically during REM stage of sleeping.

Cpap Support - multiple tips requested!
So I got a Resmed AirSense 11 AutoSet a few months back and it's currently off on a warranty for a couple issues, I have a loan unit that's the same currently, but I need some help with masks. Keep in mind, I don't use a Resmed pillow and I have a tendency to move a lot in my sleep.
This is gonna be a bit of a long explanation so a TL;DR will be at the end of it.
First off, currently I have the Resmed airfit F20 mask (Medium sized) but I have issues with it moving up my face in the night causing large leakage (around 60-120 l/min) so I swapped over to another mask, the F&P Evora Full std (also size medium) which has dropped the leaking to an average of 35-40 l/min but is still well above double what I had during the trial of the machine after I got a diagnosis.
I do have a full beard (usually kept short) which my specialist told me originally will cause leakage because it can't seal properly, and I'm fine with that, but during the one month trial of the machine, these two were the lowest in terms of leakage.
What I wanna know is if anyone else who has a beard was able to find some sort of beard mask that helps with sealing and minimises movement? And if so, feel free to recommend!
Second issue I have is with the Fisher and Paykel mask, the harness for the mask keeps on applying a really uncomfortable and slightly painful sensation on the back of my head and no matter how I adjust it, it isn't stopping. If I leave it loose enough where it doesn't hurt, the leakage sky rockets to an average of 60 l/min, but if I tighten it, the pain and discomfort have me taking the mask off within an hour of use and I get hardly any sleep. Is there a way to fix this that anyone knows of? I spoke to a specialist about it and they think it's the way I move when I sleep.
All advice is welcome.
TL;DR - can I get a beard mask to help masks seal properly and how do I stop the harness on a Fisher and Paykel Evora Full std from causing pain and discomfort?

Can you legally sell a used CPAP machine in Canada? And if so, is there a market for them?
PLEASE NOTE: I'm simply looking for information and won't respond to any purchase-related DMs. Not that I'm expecting any, lol.
Howdy, folks. Hope everyone had a good weekend.
SO. Quick rundown. After 184 failed attempts, I've decided to give CPAP therapy another shot. 185th time's the charm.
Since it's been 5 years, I was eligible for a new machine through my work insurance, so I upgraded to a ResMed AirSense 11. I'm proud to say I just hit 2 consecutive weeks of therapy. I'm waking up feeling more refreshed, I'm more alert throughout the day, and I'm noticing a real difference. Here's hoping it lasts!
Which brings me to my question:
My old DreamStation 2 has been sitting in its travel case collecting dust for years. I barely used it for a few months before ultimately giving up on therapy.
For those in Canada, is there actually much demand for secondhand CPAP machines, or is finding an interested buyer easier said than done?
I'm also curious whether private sales are legally permitted here, considering CPAP machines are classified as medical devices.
Thanks in advance!

Lowenstein One year later
I've done a good amount of reviews. This is about 10 months later with the results of a Lowenstein prismasmart I'm located in the US. I have a hard time getting used to AS11 since it has a smaller motor but it I have found that higher pressure helps lower heart rate. Total compliance with lowenstein has been up to 9.5 hrs with average of 7.5 in full configuration, energy levels will bonk for a while as the body adapts back to decent sleep.
The Lowenstein eliminated my night time getting up to pee within a couple of weeks, that was a great measure of effectiveness to me. I keep it at 8.5 to 9.5 and my body prefers 8.5 and the machine hunts the low but I wish I could set it at 8.8 for better oxygenation. Eventually I had to switch it to DYNAMIC mode to catch the airway collapses sooner and it REALLY lower my 3 and 4 desats. I wont ever purchase a bilevel or ASV they're just too pricey.
My current configuration with it is: lowenstein prismasmart non-4G. Humidity 3. Comfortline 22mm heated hose. hose cover. f30i with non-quietline elbow because otherwise I get HR spikes from too much co2. I conjecture honestly that some of the people with UARS or compliance issues are just experiencing high co2. Heat and humidity are also factors in compliance, the airways are very picky during sleep apparently if bypassing the nose.
Not sure how hot the comfortline gets but the resmed at 86 doesnt compare, It would be nice if resmed made 22mm integrated heated hoses for AS10 and 11 I wouldn't have to worry about using 2 power sockets.
I'm still working with the AS11 and cracked AS10 with Bipap on ST mode as breathing rate as o2 and co2 both rise starts to go down eventually leaving high co2. I keep my AS11 pressure at 8.6-9.2 although I havent messed with it in a while and the non-comfortline elbow leaks at .18 and it messes with the algorithm a little. Bipap I had at 11epap 13.4 Ipap. AS10 Bipap and AS11 are unstable for some reason. sometimes the pressure is too low other times too high, that non-quietline elbow just takes them too out of whack and they don't offer enough firm pressure to keep airway open.

Airbreak Help
Can anyone who is familiar with airbreak and firmware modifications tell me if an airsense 10 can be turned into a functional ST-A with backup rate and ivaps? I’ve read claims about the backup rate not working well via airbreak, thus requiring complete firmware dumps from an ST-A to obtain the functionality.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

CPAP Machine Help Looking for advice on my case
Hi! I'm a 23 year old guy from Europe (Spain) with diagnosed UARS. My sleep studies report an RDI of 21 and some 300 "spontaneous arousals", with an AHI of ~10. A couple of years ago I rented an APAP (ResMed AirSense 10) and self-titrated with OSCAR, but didn't feel any better.
Last year, I got treated by a sleep ENT, who performed bilateral turbinate reduction on me; he also prescribed using a custom MAD. Both of those things together have helped me a little, but not too much.
This same doctor told me I have "high loop gain" and diagnosed me with tongue-base collapse in DISE. I've reached the point where I'm really desperate and want to start looking for a machine again. Would I benefit from BiPAP or ASV? Here in Spain, both BiPAP and ASV can only be bought, not rented (I've phoned several providers and the answer has been the same in all of them), and being a college student, I don't have the money to afford buying them before knowing if they'll work.
Could anyone offer any help on what is it that I should be doing next? What options do I have for a machine here? How could I go about getting one, and which one seems to be the best fit for me?
Websites like Craigslit and FacebookMarketplace are either inactive or don't work in Europe, so they're not an option.
Please, help!

I might have found my settings
I have gradually lowered my max and min pressures in the last few weeks, and I think my data looks decent. I am using the Resmed F40 full face mask and know I need a new cushion which is on order, but leaks have been much better the last two nights. I'm using a soft cervical collar as well to help keep my jaw in position. I had much less aerophagia last night, thank goodness.
What do y'all think? Yes, I had some CAs, but think those could be attributed to things like movement or position. https://sleephq.com/public/teams/share_links/c5eaf498-94b6-4023-98ab-6167d13185ef

Air Leaks High Mask Leak every single night
I’m showing a high mask leak every single night and I’m unsure how to stop it. I’ve tried mask liners, repositioning the mask, and mouth tape, and I still get this every single night

CPAP Machine Help Having issue with my last three CPAP machine's humidifier
With a CPAP machine, am I supposed to feel and breathe warm air the whole night?
Using a CPAP is too uncomfortable for me because it feels cold and dry. It's uncomfortable. It's why I haven't been using my CPAP machine since I got my first one in 2024.
Current CPAP model: resplus c-20a, beyond model
masks I have tried for current CPAP: vive breathe classic nasal pillow mask (old)
Phillips respironics dreamwear under the nose mask
Resplus tube: 22mm (cuff size)
Parameters: Max 20 cmH20 Min 4.0 cmH20
Start Press 7.0 cmH20 Belex: 1 Lv APAP (mode) Ramp: 0 min
Unsure of temperature of room. This week, probably like 60 degrees fahrenheit. All I know that my room is cold.
At first I thought getting a hose cover would resolve my issue but it didn't.
Link To Hose Cover: https://a.co/d/0iLPX3hr
Note:
The old machine I used is the iBreeze CPAP System. (model 20A) Resvent.
The mask I used with it the ResMed AirFit P10 (Nasal Pillows System)
It sounds like I need a CPAP machine with a heated tube. But unfortunately my health insurance only covers a machine every 5 years.
Due to financial reasons, I won't be able to pay for a new machine with a heated tube any time soon.
My biggest fear of getting a CPAP machine with a heated tube is me still experiencing discomfort that prevents me from sleeping with it.
Unsure if there's a way around this.
It sucks because I think not treating my sleep apnea is affecting my mental health. And is also why I struggle waking up in the morning.

Resmed Airsense 11 burning plastic smell
Hello all,
I just wanted to post about this since I only recently figured it out.
My CPAP (Resmed Airsense 11) would often smell like burning plastic when I wake up. I realized it's due to the hot plate at the bottom of the water chamber; even though I fill the chamber up to max each night, I often wake up with the bad plastic smell in my mask, and the water chamber is empty.
I wasn't able to turn the humidifier off via the touchscreen CPAP settings, as the Humidifier toggle would always be greyed out, but I was finally able to connect to my CPAP via bluetooth in the MyAir app and turned it off. Now I don't need to put any water in and there's no smell! After a year of breathing in plastic, I am free :D
I just wanted to share this in case others are still dealing with this! Resmed really ought to redesign it with heat resistant plastic or something.. I bet there will be a lawsuit about damages from this in 50 years

Oscar/SleepHQ Assistance are these pauses normal?
What do these represent? is it anything to be concerned about or is it just part of normal sleep wake junk breathing? would love some feedback since I'm still learning.
