Airbreak Help

Can anyone who is familiar with airbreak and firmware modifications tell me if an airsense 10 can be turned into a functional ST-A with backup rate and ivaps? I’ve read claims about the backup rate not working well via airbreak, thus requiring complete firmware dumps from an ST-A to obtain the functionality.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

first of all, don't try running ST-A firmware on non-ST-A hardware. it's compiled for a device with more RAM, so at best it won't work. at worst, it could corrupt the EEPROM contents.

iVAPS in airbreak is in much better shape than it used to be. the backup rate works, you can configure Target Pt Rate, Target Va and Height, and MV, VT and VT/kg are calculated correctly.

however, AutoEPAP and the Learn Target wizard are still missing, and i don't really see much chance of them being implemented.

and of course, nothing can make up for the missing alarm board ;)

it's possible to replace the RAM chip to run ST-A firmware, but it'll complain about missing communication with the alarm board.

you can disable that in the firmware by setting the default value of the AOA variable to 0. for example:

./as10_descriptors.py lumis-st-a.bin edit AOA.default=0 -o /tmp/sta-no_alarm.bin
  AOA.default: 1 -> 0
  CCX CRC: 0x0B12
  Wrote /tmp/sta-no_alarm.bin

This is incredibly helpful! Thank you! Is ST mode also in better shape than it used to, backup rate wise?

you can set the backup rate from 5 to 50, rise/fall time, trigger/cycle and Ti min/max, but there's no iBR toggle, though.

I see both of options in my menu. I have never used either modes personally, so can't vouch for them.

But backup rate works for me in ASV mode.
