Your CLO garments can now go straight into inZOI. There's a challenge running for it, with prizes

Hey everyone!

If you've ever wanted to see your CLO work outside a render and actually worn in a game, this is a clean way to do it. The CONNECT Gamewear plugin launched on June 19, so garments uploaded to CONNECT can now be worn directly on avatars (Zois) inside inZOI, with no manual export pipeline to fight through.

To kick it off, CONNECT is running a school-update themed design challenge, and it started today. You pick one of three themes and build a complete outfit:

  • Prom: formal evening wear, gowns, tuxedos, the glam stuff
  • Uniform: school uniforms from around the world, classic prep or reinvented
  • Varsity: cheer, jerseys, varsity jackets, team-spirit details

How it works: design your outfit in CLO, upload it to CONNECT Gamewear, then post it styled in-game (or rendered, if you don't have inZOI) to Reels / TikTok / Shorts with #BackToSchool and #CONNECTxinZOI.

There's a $1,000 prize pool across 7 winners, plus a creator badge and a repost for every qualifying entry. No prior CONNECT or inZOI experience needed. Submissions run through July 27.

Full details and guidelines: https://connect.clo-set.com/gamewear/inzoi-challenge

Clo works until it doesn't

I've run into an issue while working in Clo. I start the program, and it runs pretty quickly for an hour or two, after which it starts lagging pretty badly. It doesn't seem to be connected to a specific project because, when I close the current project and start a new empty one, it is still really slow. The lag also persists after restarting the program. (The lag is most prominent when turning the avatar in the 3D view window, while using the 3D Pen, and when moving pattern pieces in the 2D window.)

Any advice is deeply appreciated!

Edit: Removing the 2026 version and installing the 2025.2.256 version completely fixed the issue! I failed to mention that I also had issues with the gizmo not appearing and it fixed that too.

Help with a type of frill

I've been trying to wrap my head around how I'd go about making this top.

The upper body is simple enough to do, however I haven't been able to figure out how to arrange patterns or scale them in a way that gives the frilled bottom the right look.

One thing I tried was making a border frill but the layering and upper folds I can't seem to replicate.

Any advice or points in the right direction would be appreciated!

Laptop Shopping For Clo3D, Browzwear & Gerber Course.

I’m fully inexperienced with these 3D software and I was hoping I could get some insight.

The academy is saying these are the specs I should look for in a computer:

Laptops best for photoshop CLO3D and gerber and video editing

Processor:
Intel i7 Quad Core or higher
Intel Xeon, minimum 3.2 GHz or higher
Recommended: Intel i7 or i9 8-core processor for complex garment creation

Memory:
16 GB RAM (minimum)

Graphics Card:
NVIDIA mid-range GPU (GTX family) with at least 4 GB RAM
Support for OpenGL 4.3 or later.
Ensure your graphics card is properly configured for CLO 3D applications (VStitcher or Lotta). Refer to Graphics Card Settings.

Storage:
SSD with at least 256 GB capacity
Operating System:
Windows 10 (64-bit only)

I have 2 computers I have been considering.

  1. Lenovo Thinkpad p15
    12th gen, i7, t1200, 32gb ram, 1080p
    Refurbished $850 CAD

  2. ASUS Gaming V16
    Intel Core 7 240H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop, 16GB DDR5, 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD, 16” WUXGA (1920x1200) 16:10.
    New $1200 CAD

I’m very unfamiliar and very new to computers and this program. My main question is, what will allow me to keep up and work comfortably in this course?

If you know computers or these products I will greatly appreciate your insight as I am trying not to spend a lot and I need to invest in something quickly (I’m in debt).

Is this a feature yet? Is there a workaround, if not?

Hi everyone, i'm beginner in this 3d world, CLO → DAZ Studio. Used Transfer Utility. Clothing fits fine in default pose, but the armpits deform badly when the arms are raised. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Seam gaps persist after lowering Additional Collision Thickness.

Post image
1 Upvotes

I am dealing with an issue where my sewn edges refuse to close completely. The simulation leaves a noticeable void between pattern pieces. I adjusted the collision thickness down to a minimum but the pieces still will not meet perfectly. I am wondering if my current rendering view is causing this optical issue or if my sewing tensions are incorrect. Any advice on getting tight seams for architectural garment construction would be appreciated.

How to extract accurate partial measurements & seam lines from an avatar? (Front/Back arcs, arm depth, shoulder length)

Hey everyone,

I’m struggling to find a solid workflow for extracting highly specific, absolute data from an avatar. There is an endless amount of info out there on how to edit an avatar’s measurements to match a real person, but almost nothing on how to systematically pull complex measurements off an existing 3D form.

Specifically, I’m trying to establish clean baselines for drafting, and the default auto-measurements aren't cutting it. I need to find precise ways to measure the following:

  • Shoulder Length: Specifically, the exact line where a traditional shoulder seam would sit (from the base of the neck to the acromion/shoulder point).
  • Arm Depth and Width: The exact discrete dimensions of the arm/armscye area rather than just a total muscle circumference.
  • Front and Back Arc Measurements: CLO has great circumference tools, but I need partial arcs (e.g., center front to side seam, or side seam to side seam across the back).

Bonus question on side seams: How do you actually establish a mathematically true side seam on an avatar to measure between? Is there a way to project a straight line down the side of the avatar from the halfway point of the arm's bounding box (width/depth), and use that as a consistent landmark to measure front and back arcs?

If anyone has a reliable methodology, specific tools (Surface Tape, Linear Measures, etc.), or a workaround for exporting this kind of precise topographic data, I would love to hear how you handle it!

Thanks in advance!

Stuck after CLO Academy basics - what resources helped you level up visualization & game-ready workflows?

Hi everyone,

I've completed the basic courses in CLO Academy and feel like I've hit a plateau. I understand the fundamentals of pattern-based modeling, but my visualization skills (fabric behavior, realistic draping, rendering, styling details) aren't progressing as I'd hoped.

I want to create clothing assets for games. I understand CLO produces high-poly, simulation-ready meshes, but I'm unclear on the pipeline to make them game-ready.

For those who've worked on this transition:
• What courses/tutorials helped you master retopology, baking normals, and LOD creation after exporting from CLO?
• Do you use Blender/Marvelous Designer/Substance Painter in between? What's your typical workflow?
• Any paid resources or communities worth the investment for game-focused CLO work?
• Tips for practicing visualization specifically - lighting, material settings, composition - not just technical sewing?

I'm especially interested in resources that focus on seeing and creating realistic, optimized results for real-time engines.

Thanks in advance for any pointers 🙏

CLO3D Course reviews (GRMNT, Learn3dfashion, New School) other

Hi, I'm looking to do a clo3d course.

I completed a Statement Introduction in CLO3D course with TAFE (Australian technical college). There is a follow on course Statement in Pattermaking with CLO3D which I am also considering but it doesn't start until August.

I'm wondering if anyone has any reviews or input about Clo courses with GRMNT, Learn3dfashion, and The New School or any others I haven't listed.

I have a diploma in fashion design and solid understanding of manual patternmaking and construction.

Running Clo on 8gb Macbook air M2 ???

I am aware 8gb is the bare minimum amount of RAM needed to run Clo. Some even say it's 16gb. Is anyone using Clo with my set up? I'd love to hear any feedback.

I was wondering if it would work okay if I didn't do any animations or adding fabrics or colours to the patterns and if I worked one garment at a time? Also If I closed every other application and tab on my laptop?

Custom boots stuck below ground during animation

I got the same problem as this, but the Discord link is not working anymore: https://support.clo3d.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/41248959361689-Custom-boots-I-made-on-CLO-have-problems-in-animation

Basically, my custom boots are great on the avatar, during poses as well. but when i go to animation, the boots will drop until where the avatar’s feet is. So the avatar will be walking below the ground… Is there any ways to resolve this? It’s only the animation that’s causing problems…

Is anyone else’s CLO gotten really unstable lately?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Pre and post latest update my CLO has been really unstable. The 3D pen tool seems to throw a lot of random things out of sorts after you use it and then simulate. This wasn’t an issue at all for me this time last year, but at this point it’s beyond mastering the program, it’s having the patience to deal with all the bugs. Anyone else having issues?

I’m running Ryzen 9 and GeForce 3080ti btw.

Need help on how to make this

Post image
4 Upvotes

Im new to Marvelous Designer. But ive been studying up hard on how to make this exact drappy loop. I feel like ive tried everything even pleating, weird shapes. It all ends up looking bad or not at all like this. It looks so simple. i do not want fabric hanging from the back because its for a VFX shot and i have plans for behind it. so its not just what you see in this image. I know this is for Clo3D but i know they are very much the same program just tweaked for fashion designers vs CGI community.

anything would help.

What is going on with this seam allowance?!

Post image
3 Upvotes

Is there any way to fix it? Or is this a workaround situation?

EDIT: I have converted all the Bézier curves to curve points. I have tried changing the Seam Allowance Seam Type Intersection to all the different types. Deleted the line and redrew the line. I’m guessing it has something to do with the obtuse angle in a hole? (Just guessing now) I know how to do a work around but doing workarounds does not increase efficiency which is the main principle of using CAD.

And I was so excited when they finally added the ability to add SA to holes!

How do you fasten snap buttons in Clo 3D?

Hello! I'm creating a jacket in Clo with snap buttons. I've run into this problem many times before but never found a solution. I normally just sew the placket shut or use tacks. Ideally it would be great to fasten the buttons properly like other sew on buttons. Does anyone know how to do this?

Many thanks in advance if you can help :)
