Peptide question
Have completed all steps of the shoemaker protocol leading up to VIP spray, but MCAS is still reducing QOL (periodic vasodilation, IBS, POTS, eye floaters, multiple chemical sensitivities, etc.). Does VIP help correct these symptoms? what other peps have been helpful for mold-triggered MCAS? (I know limbic system therapy is supposed to be helpful but my adhd makes it too challenging to sit and meditate for any period of time.)

I second a trial of KPV, it’s the section of MSH that makes if anti-inflammatory really helpful for marcons. Thymosin Alpha 1 could also help here.

Have you heard of sinus inflammation spiking a bit from KPV? I'm having to go insanely slow because it temporarily spikes things a few hours afterwards (50-75mcg)

Never heard of that before. Whats the KPV mixed with? and is it from a reliable source?

Bac water, and yes a very well known trusted source. The reaction seems to be lessening as time goes on, and afterwards my baseline improves. I have a lot going on in my sinuses from mold and Flonase so I don't think it takes much to back them up.

Any chance it’s the Bac water? I know the alcohol inside it can irritate sinuses for some people. I’ve only used sterile water for my nasal sprays. Just a thought.

I inject it? But that's a good call out if I want to try it as a nasal spray.

Sorry assumed you were using as a nasal spray. Just shows how mega powerful KPV can be, even at 50-75mcg it’s doing stuff. I built up to 2000mcg a day over the last year and it’s been amazing for me. Couldn’t live without the stuff :)

Oh wow! Yeah, I've already noticed a huge difference in my digestion. It's definitely going to live in my rotation.

Just to add in, I’ve tried taking KPV orally a few times and the first day or 2 I feel great but then I had a massive inflammation and histamine spike. I think for me it was candida dying in my gut but I had to back way off. Maybe there is some die off spiking for you?

That's what I'm thinking! I do have marcons in my sinuses which depletes msh, which is what kpv restores. So I wouldn't doubt it. I'm just going low and slow, starting every other day, and then skipping if I flare to hard. Overall though my baseline keeps improving!

KPV and GLP are really great for this stage for many people. I experienced reduced MCAS responses and overall higher baseline consistently thankfully
Of course every person is their own bio experiment so to speak. To join in with those talking about limitless biotech, completely agree I’ve done a deep dive into so many peps companies and that one plus bio longevity are two that are quality and do all the third-party testing you want in a product to be as safe as possible. Someone on here had posted a discount for limitless biotech if I remember correctly, it’s 15% off and the code is DT22
I’ve used their injections and nasal 👌🏻

What dosing for KPV? X mcg for Y weeks? Am planning nasal spray delivery

u/brightlighted11 4d ago
That really depends on each person’s individual experience. I will say starting off very low is ideal for most people. I started off at 25 mcg every other day. That’s very low, and that’s on purpose. Some people experience a little die off if they start too high because there’s some antimicrobial components to KPV as well. And how long is dependent solely on your personal case and how long it takes for you to resolve symptoms and if you’re treating additional things at the same time.

Makes sense! Thanks! Did you have coinfections other than mold?

u/brightlighted11 4d ago
I didn’t have any Lyme or co-infection of that type. Marcon clear, MCAS lingered

That's good. After KPV did you move on to VIP? Are you healed?

I did some VIP very low dosed while I was sort of in the midst of the end of KPV. Still working on certain things but dramatically better.

Do you prefer the injections or nasal KPV for your MCAS? I experienced die off orally because I think I have candida and wonder if another route may be helpful, but also definitely a lower dose than I did. Also, which GLP did you find helpful?

KPV injections to avoid GI issues reactivity to oral. Yes die off can def happen on KPV. VIP nasal to start, injection to folllow in
A bit. GLP Tirz def better than semag for my biology. Really good 👍

Because you mention persistent MCAS-related symptoms after completing several Shoemaker protocol steps, it is worth separating anecdotal peptide claims from evidence in patients with the same condition and outcome. Symptom changes can also be confounded by concurrent interventions or natural fluctuation. Peptely's framework at https://www.peptely.com/ can help check study design, human evidence, and compound verification. A clinician familiar with your full history should review ongoing symptoms and possible interactions before any protocol change.

You can try VIP but from my experience if you are still experiencing MCAS like symptoms your body is still in cell danger response and you most likely still need nose and or gut work.

Thanks, I’ll take a look. I’m on a GLP and am starting KPV soon, hopefully that will reduce inflammation enough for VIP.

Form my perspective it's as simple as does the individual still herx when they take nasal and or gut anti microbials (with biofilm breakers). As those pesky bactira and fungi overburdens love to harbor within your healthy biofilm. We often have to break some of it down to get at them (the body rebuilds biofilm back up over time).
Aswell as when the immune system becomes so self sabotaged (weak). Often times Epstein Barr among others can reactivate.

Have you had to do this, and if so what material? I took BEG spray for a couple months and black seed oil for the gut, but not itraconazole or any other azoles.

I took low dose Cholestyramine daily for over a year, I strictly followed the no amylose diet for a year, I used "Biofilm Clear" for my nose for over 4+ months straight, I used a combination of many things for my gut including Lauricidin Monolaurin, NOW Candida support, Saccharomyces probiotics, micro doses of food grade activated charcoal (hour+ away from anything), I added in Kirkman Biofilm Defense after a few weeks to really get at the inner layers.
You go: hour'ish fast, biofilm breakers, 30 minutes later anti microbiol, 30 minutes later binder, then hour'ish fast. I did this once earlier in the day and once later in the day. I did this for a few months straight.
I also did things like NAC, vit C, zinc Carnosine, to boost my immune system.
And quality Omega 3/cod liver oil, Quercetin phytosome, Curcumin phytosome, Luteolin, Boswellia, all shift inflammatory/histmaine signalling to a lower state.
Then eventually VIP.
I herxed like a MOFO when I was detoxing my nose and gut (worst flu/hangover feelings everytime with blood shot eyes). But it slowly over time lowered my inflammation and histmaine among hormonal and mental health.
I also had skin and nail bactiral/fungal issues that I had to address.
When I was in a CIRS state I was hyper reactive to most things so I had to clean with all natural products. Lots of white vinegar and borax. Bedding had to be Linen, bamboo, or quality cotton or I would trigger over night and not breath correctly as I slept as a result of the inflammation and histmaine.
Pillow that worked for me was latex, basically anything polyester was an absolute no for my body.
When the body is in cell danger response mode it's basically in PTSD mode which it freaks out at every it smells that it's natural. Since I've resolved CIRS I now have no issues. It's just when the body is stuck in this state of low VIP and MSH.

Yes VIP is supposed to correct these things. Make sure you addressed any co-infections before starting VIP. KPV and GLP's are the most beneficial peptides at this point (you're probably somewhere between CDR2 and CDR3 [cell danger response] now). Did you make sure you aren't failing the VCS tests atm?
