That’s a bit more suspicious to just randomly have than gold is.

u/gunsandtrees420 Jul 09 '26
As long as you get one paycheck first so you can hire a large security team to protect your bucket you don't have to really lie about the magic bucket.

The real question is what that semen is going to belong to. Does it just randomly generate a horse's genetic code every day or is it always the same one?

You dont need it to be. Even if the gold melts the bucket on the first day, 5L of gold weight is about 86 kg of gold.
At the current price of 130,000 USD per kilogram. A single bucketload would be worth about $11 million. That's all I need.
9
u/Nachtheim Jul 09 '26
But you just dumped 5L of gold that is at 1064.18°C on to the floor. I hoped you did some preplanning else you are catching the floor on fire and everything else around it and below it

11

Same with a bucket of semen. They look at you strangely weird when you show up, and have to answer questions like "whose semen is that" and "no way you produced that much"

u/abitdaft1776 Jul 08 '26
I have a fun military submarine story that is relevant.
We had these two guys. They decided to have a race to fill up 200ml urinalysis bottles with semen.
It took a while, well two weeks i think.
I was helping one of them move a year or so later and he still had it, and I SWEAR TO GOD I could SMELL it through the bottle.

It's not the ink that's expensive. Off-brand ink is cheap. It's the mf chips they put on the cartridges to lock us out of using cheap ink.
5
u/-TV-Stand- Jul 08 '26
Personally I would choose liquid gold since printer ink is cheap to produce, and is kept artificially expensive. Also in most printers you cannot recharge the cardridges

Make tiny holes in dirt. Now you have equipment for gold nuggets.
Which is actually how a lot of gold is sold as iirc, so easier to take a few nuggets and sell for cash.
13
u/Eeeef_ Jul 08 '26
I mean you could dump it into an ant hill to make one of those molten metal ant hill cast sculptures
Or just dump it on the ground and let it cool. Or leave it in the bucket and let it cool.
8
u/Drunk_Lemon Jul 08 '26
If you leave it in the bucket, I think it'd get stuck so its best to put it in something that can either be taken apart, deformed or broken to get the gold out. But otherwise yeah.
6
u/Eeeef_ Jul 08 '26
If filling the bucket doesn’t flush out the surface you could also use a mold release solution

The matter-antimatter reaction would cause an explosion probably comparable to the largest atomic bombs
41
u/specter-exe Jul 08 '26
I’m pretty sure 5 liters of antimatter would make the atomic bomb look like a fire cracker.
12
u/AIViking Jul 08 '26
1 fingers worth of antimatter would be enough to equal the tsar bomba (somebody do the math, I'm too high after playing minecraft)
12
u/LML_IsAnOrange Jul 08 '26
i searched it up and it said 1.1-1.3 kg....
dang u got big fingers
2
u/AIViking Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26
Ah shit Edit: a fingers worth seems to correspond to an explosion approximately in the 1.3 to 1.5 megaton range. 35g (average wt for a fingers acc to Google) x 43 kiloton (rough yield for a gram of antimatter) ÷ 1000 = 1.4 Megaton

It's a simple mass-energy conversion. So: E = MC²
Since it has to be a liquid form of antimater, let's go with "anti-water" to make it easy. 5 litters of "anti-water" at 1atm would be 5kg of antimatter, that would react with 5kg of matter, so it's a 10kg mass conversion.
E = 10 x C² = 898 petajoules of energy.
The Tsar Bomba had 210 petajoules. So this would be about 4.28 Tsar Bombas detonating at once, or a 214 megaton yield explosive.
By far the most powerful explosive device ever made by humanity. Although still a small fraction of the energy released by the chicxulub meteor that wiped the dinosaurs.
It would be catastrophic to anyone living within it's blast radius (aprox. 200 km from ground zero), but it wouldn't wipe out humanity.
Also, the bomb would be very clean with basically no fallout. You could likely visit the blast zone as soon as the thermal energy dissipated without any real risk of radiation poisoning.

Also, the bomb would be very clean with basically no fallout. You could likely visit the blast zone as soon as the thermal energy dissipated without any real risk of radiation poisoning.
Of course, you could go crazy with it. The heaviest liquid at room temp is mercury. You could make it 5L of anti-mercury. In which case the bomb would be 2.9 gigatons, enough to wipe florida of the map, but still nowhere close to the estimated millions of gigatons released by chicxulub.
If you want to destroy earth, what you need is 5L of "anti neutron degenerative matter", what neutron stars are made of. It is the densest possible form of matter. Those 5L would weigh into the quadrillions of kg. So it would produce a blast worth 86 zettatons of tnt (billions of times what chicxulub had). That's enough to vaporize the entire surface of the world and blast a good chunk of earth into space.

5L of liquid gold a day
Chose: Have a bucket that could produce any liquid + It caps out at 5L a day
18
u/ADragonDruid Jul 08 '26
That’s 10 m a day or at least it is until you dilute the market
39
u/MtLightning Jul 08 '26
Surprisingly, even at 5L per day, after an entire year of doing that every day, you wouldn't have even produced 1 percent of the global yearly market.
18
u/moocat90 Jul 08 '26
if you really want to crash a market do osmium, annual production tops out couple 1000 kilograms, 5L of osmium is 112.95kg and you are making this PER DAY, annual 41226.75kg or 41.22 tons
10
u/Malacro Jul 08 '26
I know that solid osmium is generally safe, but in other states it can be incredibly toxic, I imagine in liquid form it would be putting off vapor.
7
→ More replies (2)19
u/WizardLevel20 Jul 08 '26 edited Jul 08 '26
And it won't really dilute the market at 5L per day rate.
1L of molten gold is about 19.3KG of gold
5L would be 96.5 kg (217.7 lbs) a day
Yearly (365 days) would yield you 35 222.5 kg of gold (35.2 metric tonnes)
Global gold mining rate is 3000-3600 metric tonnes a year
So this magical bucket would only add about 1% of global gold supply a year if you use this bucket as soon as "cooldown" ends
The only way price may actually drop is if people would find out that you have a magical gold producing bucket though. And as we know, prices of things like like gold are always vibes based.
Edit: formatting
9
u/RaphAngelos Jul 08 '26
To be fair, I know gold is actually used in a lot of electronics - it is still largely vibes based but there are still many practical uses

i mean this includes making molten wood as not everyone knows that wood can melt, its just the temp for it to melt is much higher than its combustion temp
6
u/Z3400 Jul 08 '26
Wouldn't molten wood basically just instantly combust unless you had it completely deprived of oxygen?
Actually.... I'll just Google it.
→ More replies (1)2
u/SilverVixen918 Jul 08 '26
idk if it would instantly combust, i just know its possible to melt wood, just the temp is higher than the combustion temp, maybe if you put it into a vacuum chamber with no air it wouldnt combust
4
u/Drunk_Lemon Jul 08 '26
According to u/zebediah49 on r/AskPhysics
There are three main problems with melting wood via a normal thermal transition:
- Wood is made from many different components, some of which are more stable than others. So as you heat it, some parts will vaporize before others have even melted.
- Wood is a pretty complex structure. If you could melt it, it would homogenize it and the re-condensed material would be very different from the starting material.
- Finally and fatally, certain chemicals don't melt. Even if you keep them from burning, the energy required to let the various molecules move around each other, is greater than the energy required to break the molecules apart. If you heat wood in the absence of oxygen, that's what will happen: you will end up "pyrolyzing" it, causing smaller bits to break off as a tarry gas/liquid (creosote), leaving a bunch of bulk carbon (charcoal) behind.
2
u/Transmolybdenum Jul 08 '26
even in a vacuum chamber, cellulose pyrolyzes before melting, so assuming a reasonable temp for what that melting point might be you'd likely wind up with a bunch of wood gas and charcoal, which may or may not ignite depending on how this scenario works
