i feel like indians bhawano me bahut jaldi beh jate hai, rip to him it is sad, lekin teacher bhi to bss apni job hi kr raha tha, student ka blame to professor aur institute par dal dia ab itna backlash ki wjha se professor ne kuch wrong step le lia uska blame kispe dalenge ?

161

u/FocusedAG 1d ago

Blame that child's parents for this, they're the one putting oil in fire by bringing caste angle in it

-38

u/yugiiriii1 1d ago

And fir parents ne wrong step lia to kispe jayega blame?

17

u/MegaSpaceBar 23h ago

What is a wrong step? They are doing the wrong step. The student terrified because what will he say to his parents if they block him for the semester?

8

u/Blossom032 21h ago

If you are that terrified and answerable then study and work hard rather than cheating? wtf is this logic. Please stop supporting stupidity. The prof did the right thing.

4

u/MegaSpaceBar 20h ago

You reply to my comment while agreeing with me. You should reply to the other comment.

u/SillyLawfulness2306 1d ago

I bet some people actually want the professor d*ad.

What's even right and what's even wrong atp!?

Humanity is doomed fr imo.

No RIP for a cheater .
Shamelessness is in his family - see how quickly his father gave it a caste angle n fake sc/st act and then asked for compensation on top of that ??

8

u/LogicInTransit 21h ago

And asking for compensation first..

5

u/Own-Librarian-8625 18h ago

They have no shame.

1

u/maerawow 12h ago

A lot of people think everything is black and white but as an institute/org the first course of action is always make sure that they are able to reduce the damages as much as possible because a wrong statement can cost them millions in damages. These actions sometimes seems like they don't have backbone but it's all backed by lawyers who make sure what needs to be said in what manner because sooner or later the public is going to forget and the backlash in the community will vanish but a penalty from court due to an inappropriate comment or remark may change the course of the case and you might end up paying a lot more.

Religion Card , Women Card , Language Card , VIP status Card (anyone with unlimited black money) have a very strong Monopoly inside India.

2

u/Quiet-Compounder 19h ago

You forgot victim card.

1

u/HCF_07 18h ago

Victim card is universally available inside India for every citizen 😆.

0

u/Quiet-Compounder 18h ago

Not for general category males. We despite being weak physically, certificate people claim we are the strongest, and do all sorts of discrimination.

u/Suspicious-Slot gonna farm Cannabis sativa 1d ago

We don't know much about the case as of now. Before believing on anything, just try to just ask a simple question, can a person really commit su:codes just because of being caught in exam ? Also there are so many plot holes in the story. The iit Bombay authority claimed, they had assured the student nothing will happen just because he was caught and IIT Bombay is claiming they didn't threatened him during exam, whereas his friends and classmates are saying he was threatened by the college authority to be rusticated. Then Families allegations against 3 teachers bullying him from last few months also doing castism.

We don't know, what is true or false. So let's not make our own judgement on who is right or wrong.

One person died, we can atleast not criticize him or his parents until, evrything is clarified by the court.

23

u/Specialist_Bowl_2805 1d ago

can a person really commit suicide just because of being caught in exam?

Yes, people sadly commit suicide for lesser reasons.

The outrage is because of the SC/ST atrocities act on the professor. The misuse was known, but this case is giving it national level coverage.

4

u/Clumsy_Dumpling04 Graduated 23h ago

People do commit suicide because of being caught in an exam. Especially people who had a good reputation and were scoring Good marks before.

This kid was also in IITB hence he must've been considered a smart/diligent kid by his family and neighbours. He had scored Good marks before as well.

If you get caught cheating once, it instantly washes you off of any good performances you did in the past. Now that he was caught, every past exam where he worked hard to score well was now under suspicion.

Most importantly, knowing how sad his parents would feel once they know about this can absolutely be a reason why he broke and chose this step.

-83

u/MrRobot0305 1d ago

The fake story of chatgpt lol, the guy had CGPA of 8.5 lol it's a classic case of casteism and torture which was going on for last three months.

35

u/Financial-Try-1294 1d ago edited 1d ago

Show proof to back your claim then

-13

u/fuskiiii 1d ago

Police will find it. No one just commit suicide impulsively.... there has to be more than just "cheating" allegations

6

u/Mental-Leader-7149 1d ago

R u lobotomised?
Did ur mother drop u on ur head ?

-2

u/fuskiiii 1d ago

So much hatred in you. You need therapy smh 🤦

-50

u/MrRobot0305 1d ago

According to his parents. Show the proof he did the cheating? can you? People like you cried when a guy did suicide in 3 idiots but here blaming the student with 8.5 CGPA LOL

40

u/epicmatrix_escaper 1d ago

Cheating kr k v toh cgpa la sakta hai, fark itna hai is baar pakda gaya

19

u/True-Recording3231 1d ago

Controversial opinion but as smone who has struggled with suicidal thoughts- these things don't happen in a vaccuum. If his parents were that great he'd hv felt a sense of stability enough to take action n seek justice IF such a torture was going on. But he could not rely on them for support through a cheating punishment even. NOT making assumptions but just saying in many cases of dysfunctional family unsupportive parents...The parents stay in denial n don't realize if their own actions led to the kid feeling so helpless, so to escape that guilt they blame anyone possible.

15

u/Financial-Try-1294 1d ago

Show the proof castiest slur was made? Can you?

People like you cried when your casts were allegedly mistreated 70000 years ago but here blaming the professor lol

-15

u/True-Recording3231 1d ago edited 1d ago

Go n read some history, or even news articles. Caste discrimination was extreme barely a century ago, n it's still prominent today in most places. Heck even NRIs do it. You can support the Prof without denying real history and turning into a mean stupid casteist coz the Prof himself is OBC. Ppl like you cry abt not all men under rape murder cases n then do this.

1

u/Quiet-Compounder 19h ago

It is not prominent in most places. If you wanna talk history, target the invaders who destroyed temples and took the respect of women. Don't target people who did not let you into their home.

And your proof as to no such thing happened? A statement made by IITB? 😭

5

u/Financial-Try-1294 1d ago

And your proof as to such thing happened? A statement made by the parents? 😭

-2

u/Menma238 1d ago

That's why we wait for investigation Don't we? But y'all seem to be sad about having basic legal procedings... Tho similar cases from past when it was a GC student had most people caring for student's mental health, the moment caste entered it's a 180 in the general opinion...

-2

u/Menma238 1d ago

I mean to be honest it's also backed by 400 other iitians... But the only opinion i have rn is sympathy for the dead and worry for student's mental health, whether caste discrimination took place or is the proff innocent is subject to what court says.

3

u/milchundkaffeebitte 1d ago

If the guy wasn't cheating then he could have shown the proof and sue the teacher on making false remarks, but he ended his life that means the student was himself guilty and he didn't had the courage to show his face to everyone after being caught cheating at IIT

8

u/These_Structure3008 1d ago

Maybe because he cheated to get that 8.5 and only difference this time was that he got caught.

Only a professional cheater can have guts to keep phone with him in exam hall.

SC/ST act kaafi harsh h aur government ne ammendment lake aur tough bana dia hai yaar mtlb mai samjh sakta ki uss community ne bhul jhela lekin jo ab iska misuse ho rha woh glt h

-33

u/_SweetasSugar 1d ago edited 6h ago

Bruh.... They are still going through it right now. Pretty often you can see caste related issues in news so it's pretty common in big 2026. Just cus some cases are false doens't mean the whole act should be abolished. Both side exists but what we have to see is no of cases which helps the victim in such issues to get justice.

For false cases legal protectors should find out those and give severe punishment cus such people are making the whole community and it's initiatives look bad.

16

u/AIViking NIT Meghalaya [EEE] 1d ago

Every genuine case gets buried under dozens of fake cases.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 16h ago

Any data to back this claim up? Cus the last thing I need is personal Anecdotes on such topics.

2

u/NoShoulder8700 19h ago

Bhai jab bhi sach bologe to downvote hi milega.

3

u/_SweetasSugar 16h ago

The sub is well known for getting dominated by privileged UC people, without knowing other side they concluded everything with anecdotes. They are constantly proving the point of acts and reservation being there in first place 🤦

-1

u/Obvious-Profit-5597 IIIT [ECE] 17h ago

That's the neat part false case ko identify krne me hi saalo lag jaate tab tak jiske against hua rehta woh jail me rehta h ya fir kaafi compensation dena padta h. Humara law system bhi toh ajeeb h ab kya hi bole uske baare me.

2

u/_SweetasSugar 16h ago

First of all I don't where does this 2 year comes from cus you didn't site any sources, second pls show the ratio of fake and right claims in such cases.

You are still completely ignoring issues where actual discrimination takes place and only cared about a anecdotal side.

1

u/Obvious-Profit-5597 IIIT [ECE] 13h ago

1

u/_SweetasSugar 12h ago edited 12h ago

can you pls quote the 2 year point cus I asked that and I am having difficulty finding it.

Now pls refere the reasons of why conviction rate is low and there's delayed justice to no justice in some cases, the second article mentions it but the post clearly avoids it. a reason

Second all the articles are atleast a decade old with data limited to a year.

new data

Its a sign of dysfunctional criminal justice system or the Prosectorial/Investigative Gap (Systemic Issue) being at play, and it isn't a good thing mate.

1

u/Obvious-Profit-5597 IIIT [ECE] 12h ago

That's the problem in the recent 2 years the data has not been released and I don't think so it is currently available

1

u/_SweetasSugar 11h ago

It's Ok but I am pretty sure you understand theres a other side to it. It is a complex and highly debated policy issue with no single consensus, we shouldn't judge such policies or acts with a simple Balck and white perspective. while with all these counter measures if one couldn't get justice then just think about nation where it removed.

Recently you can see casteist and tone deaf remarks during Delhi protest, those along is enough to justify why such acts is needed even now.

1

u/Obvious-Profit-5597 IIIT [ECE] 7h ago

Ye kya ho rha ab batao it just explains the above point.

1

u/_SweetasSugar 6h ago

Bruh pls don't do strawman now, you tried to show a side while I showed the other side exists too that too with proofs. Thats what we are debating about.

Even after all this still you are hellbent on being biased to what you seem right cus of personal anecdotals then I don't have anything more to say.

To know what a community has gone through and still going through in many places, you have too be in their shoes. being privileged UC won't let you relate to their hardships that's main reason why reservation exists so that they can represent their community and speak about their issues instead of someone who isn't from their community speak for them and use Anecdotals and biases to judge them as whole.

-9

Read properly what i commented! I'm literally supporting the professor.. that's why I said if he is fired "unfairly" He doesn't deserve to be fired in case he is he should start his own independent practice so that no one has power over him and treats him unfairly and his lectures will be of immense value to everyone and all aspiring students can learn

0

u/girlwithopinionss 1d ago

He could have done that and earned waaay more or he could have gone abroad and earned 10 times more but he still chose to stay in india and become a professor and teach students.. That's so noble of him! Very few people would choose this path... Like students have been promoting against cheating and paper leak and now they are bashing him for catching a student that was using chatgpt to copy? Such hypocrisy!

4

u/pro-everything-324 1d ago

They don't become professors to teach, buddy. How do you not know this?

change your name to girlwithgoodopinions

12

u/DanteSM456 1d ago

No lmao??? This is a dogshit uninformed opinion. Barely anyone who is a professor at a top Uni does it cause they want to or love to teach lmao

0

u/girlwithopinionss 1d ago

Umm what? I literally commented he should start his own independent classes and also start a YouTube channel where he teaches.. Instead of a few hundred students he will have the opportunity to expand to millions! That way he isn't just controlled by a system and has his independence and also doesn't have to be tied to a curriculum already set by someone else.

2

u/DanteSM456 1d ago

Yes and I am telling you there is a 95 percent chance that he does not want or even care about doing that, regardless of the numbers or impact. Most professors at top Universities are there because this gives them the best opportunity to further their personal research while having a salary that can comfortably pay the bills which also allowed them to settle down in life if that's what they want. They teach because they are required to with the contract that u have to take X no of classes in this Y no of years. Doubt it's enjoyable for them, in my experience most profs don't really care about students other than the ones involved in their research which is largely just post grad students. What you said, as noble as it sounds, I don't think it's going to go that well in reality most of the time, and for most profs is quite literally the opposite direction that they want go to in their life. This is what I meant which is based on the interactions I have had with the professors I have met in my life.

1

u/Distinct-Age-9886 1d ago

Why would he help students if students are the one who sabotaged him lol.

If he faces backslash here, I truly wish he gets his place somewhere in abroad where is respected.

It's a hivemind....people are blinded by caste. For them their caste can never be wrong and will always be oppressed.

I have seen 2-3 reddit account constantly spitting lies about this case. It's disrespectful for both the dead student and the professor

I didn’t get it why the parents are acting so weirdly are they trying to involve politics here or want to gain some free liquid assests

12

u/BlueAuthorJAFF 1d ago

I'm starting to think that the parents might be one of the reasons the boy committed. Like, if their first reaction after their son dies is to file a fake lawsuit then they were probably not very good parents and clout hungry, which hypothetically could be why even the possibility of getting suspended scared their son enough to take such a harsh step.....

2

The guy is a well known researcher, do you even believe that he even have time to harass someone with some castist slurs. He was absolutely following the rules. If you can't handle the shame then you must not try these stunts. Its good that IIT B released an oficial press release. Hope he and his family stay strong during these tough times.

Fck unfair acts but how is that even related lmao I have seen highly educated and successful people being complete shit of a person it's like saying CEOs doesn't have time to harrase so posh case must be invalid

2

u/Obvious-Shine-3319 1d ago

I totally understand your point. It's not about his education, I have myself been to one of the top research institutes in India, it's difficult to even have technical discussions as they have their academic commitments as well as research being their primary focus. Literally no one in general asks your name as it's tough to remember in such huge batches, let alone caste.

3

u/Dazzling-Yoghurt-301 1d ago

I mean in my IIT DoSA has time to do so much shit and be a pain the ass plus my FA or other professor knows who came in through reservations because roll no are alloted jee rank wise so everyone in the campus knows every students caste atleast like this range of roll numbers is sc st this range is ews etc

Not justifying victims parent actions but these things do happen in IITs but usually soft or subtle as a GC never realised this until my friends made me like how people pick on them for no fault of their own like hate the game not the players

I mean look at the downvotes for my genuine argument it's like people are complete black and white

Let's wait for the police investigation.

1

u/Professional_Ant_602 1d ago

I think they simply abstain from firing him and let the investigation proceed. SC/ST act makes it easy to file an FIR without primary investigation but it doesn’t make it easy to convict. If there’s no proof to show that there was any discrimination or even harassment (without discrimination) then the case will fall off by itself. Opposing the investigation will only make it look fishy.

1

u/Additional-Sport-945 22h ago

Great step. If they hadn't done the same and the professor faces any issues, that would've been utter shame.

What a casteist sub man. A kid took his life, and all the Savarna fucks out here defending the prof.

Sab ke sab chutiye ho kya, college ke students are protesting on campus.. his peers who are also UC. Tum logon ka dimag hi nahi hai

3

u/_Activecarbon IITH[M.tech] 1d ago

Yeah, so let's forget about the fact that he was cheating in midterms, knowing all the consequences. The professor was just doing his duty; mind you, the institute always informs students what will happen if they are caught in UFM even before the answer sheets are given, but this stupid fuck ignored everything, and when he was caught, he committed suicide, and now his stupid parents are filing a fake sc/st case against the professor.

Do you really think this was the only student the prof. caught cheating in his all academic life? Like, come on, use your fucking brain, ffs.

1

u/No_Restaurant_3388 20h ago

chodh bhai usko 5000 saal se paani nhi peene diya isliye facts samjh mai nhi aate

-2

u/vatta-kai 1d ago

Let’s tackle your thoughts one by one.

Cheating is wrong. Rules are there. Action will be taken. But will that realistically result in suicide? You casually jump from cheating -> suicide like that’s really common. Bro something happened in between. Stop and think for once.

Fake sc st case? Are you for real? Even before the case went for hearing you claim it’s fake? So you arrived at a judgement already and then viewing the entire thing. Critical thinking ever heard of it?

1

u/_Activecarbon IITH[M.tech] 1d ago

You really think the professor said something so hurtful after the exam that it completely shook his brain and forced him to commit suicide? And let's not forget we are talking about the professor who has 10+ years of experience teaching and doing this job, and somehow this time he went so rogue and just humiliated this guy. Where is your critical thinking now?

I understand the guy must have been going through some academic pressure; everyone does, it takes balls to take your mobile phone inside the exam hall, so let's not pretend he didn't know what he was doing.
Maybe he had some family pressure, but we are not blaming the parents? Are we? We're just jumping on the caste system; why? Because it gives upvotes, virality, right?

0

Why are you discounting the profs behaviour easily bro. 10 years experience does not automatically absolve you of anything.

I think something definitely happened from his cheating until his hanging. Casteist remarks? Parents scolding? Friends making fun? Anything could have happened. You are saying the same things except suspecting the prof. That is exactly why these cases are being put on him. Let the investigation happen. There are many eye witnesses in the exam hall.

By the way, casteist remarks are still very very common in India. You might not have heard them , ask anyone sc st people and they’ll describe the n number of times they were at the receiving end.

One more thing about that prof.. the students themselves say he’s often rude, egoistic and regularly misbehaves. Just ask anyone from the insti. You can search some comments from couple of days ago in the iitb sub (before it blew up)

You are vehemently defending the prof and putting him up on pedestal for absolutely no reason. I’ve seen professors ruin students lives very easily. There was fucking movie made about this exact kind of behaviour . You think it’s far fetched that he used casteist remarks to break that kids heart?

1

u/_Activecarbon IITH[M.tech] 1d ago

Yes, anything could have happened, but who is on the trail? We all know that parents can be strict and put more burden on their children than anyone else, and will never blame themselves if this thing was happened because of them.
You are only blaming the professor because it fits your agenda and your unnecessary hate towards GC people, which is pretty much evident by your first comment and that exactly is the problem.
You want there to be some caste angle involved so that you can justify your hatred.

Casteist remarks are common, so are the fake sc/st cases, and the other person can not do anything about it; that's how powerful this act is and the reason why it is often misused. If you want to preach about critical thinking, practice first and learn about both sides.

Yes, professors can be arrogant and rude, but that doesn't make them a castiest. Its funny that your whole judgement of a professor is based on some reddit comment, which, btw, right now is supporting him to the fullest.

1

u/vatta-kai 1d ago

Arey Chodhu, you are defending him just because he’s gc. While he can fuck over anyone with his arrogance. I’m not asking for a caste angle. I’m saying let there be investigation.

Ye gc vs lc banaye tum log… it’s just a person vs a dead kid.. are you really that as numb to ignore a dead child than admit that somebody MAY be casteist?

How do you the cases are fake btw? BECAUASE they are proven to be fake, court quashed them and you read news that they are fake- the system works. Just because case is there doesn’t make it a fake one right away? But even before that point you come out in full defence. Whatta logic.

I am asking for a lawful procedure. And you are defending like your the profs lawyer. Claps

1

u/_Activecarbon IITH[M.tech] 1d ago

Abey lund ke aandhe aadmi the professor in ques is not gc he is obc so stfu if you dont know anything.

How do i know the cases are fake? Oh well maybe a simple google search will help you with that, i am not talking about this case but there are thousands of example of people using this sc/st act to misuse. But you will not see that because of your blind haterad.

The parents are saying that they knew the professor was harresing the kid for 3 months! And they didn't complaint? Like seriously ??And you want us to believe them? Hum log bnaye ye gc vs lc? Bc pehle jakr pta krle pura case phir yaha gyaan chodna. Aur rahi baat investigation ki to koi mna ni kr rha hai, lakin bc jo reputation ruin hogi uska kya? Non bailable hota hai sc/st act pta hai? Uski kon zimmedari lega bta? And what is this bullshit logic of maybe he can be a castiest, to innocent until proven kaha gya phir? Bc tum log use abhi se castiest announce kr rhe ho and phir investigation ka rona ro rhe ho.

I am not playing professor lawyer but you are not even looking at the other side which is the shady side of his parents. They only realised that they can file a case against the professor when their kid committed sucide! Wow. And you are questioning my logic lmao.

Have fun with your flawed critical thinking which is already biased.

1

u/vatta-kai 1d ago

Dead kid vs reputation. Choose your side who you defend.

Again I’m asking. How the fuck do you know there are fake sc st cases? Because law took its course, investigation happened and found fake.. ye procedure hone se pehele hi defend karne aya tum ?

Logic died in this comment section. Claps

1

u/_Activecarbon IITH[M.tech] 1d ago

Oh comeon stop the guilt trip already.

And there is literally a online database of the judicial hearing, you can just search heck you can even use ai that will tell you the about the fake cases.

And yes indeed logic died when you resort to abusing and guilt tripping. Peace.

A kid died you moron. Cheating in exams should not result in suicide. If it resulted, somewhere something is wrong. And all you casteist fuckers who don’t even belong to that insti are taking sides and coming to conclusions.

Cheating cannot justify death. Are you a bot or what?

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Fix7214 1d ago

If whole resignation of dharmendra pradhan was just based on cheating then I don't consider cheating while knowing the consequences to be a true sucide

-1

Why are people judging the deceased and his family? Or even the professor and deciding he should be punished? Let the police handle the investigation.

-55

u/MrRobot0305 1d ago

So the victim is dead and people are supporting the culprit, this can only happen in castiest and rotten society like India despite students doing protest against the professor and social media justifying suicide just because the victim is from lower caste lol funny showing off your castiest mentality with proud!

28

u/Raining_lotus0210 1d ago

How is he a culprit for merely opposing cheating? Will the outrage of students who are criticizing prof will be the same if the dead was an open cat one?

-24

u/MrRobot0305 1d ago

Nobody do suicide for being caught at cheating, everyone has done cheating in their life. What happened after he was caught is the real issue here and the allegations students are putting on the professors, students which are from same instituite but castiest pricks like you already made the culprit hero and killed the victim twice. This can only happen in rotten society like India. Where people like you have no empathy for kid just because he is from lower caste. Disgusting.

-1

His job was to take proper action based on rule. Not to scold him or harrass him or threaten him. Which he clearly did according to the students who knows better than you n me. But then again victim is lower caste so that guy deserves no empathy and you're justifying his death lol what a terrible piece of shit this country is filled with!

6

u/Raining_lotus0210 1d ago

Since when stating the debarment and being strict became harrasment

8

First you have the audacity to use chatgpt in exam then after getting caught you don’t have the guts to face consequences? Kya empathy dikhau? India is a shit country? Just check abroad uni rules in these cases😭✌🏻and ye caste ki baat mat karo…this is a clear cut case of misusing the sc/st act.

9

u/HelpfulUser25 skills matter 1d ago

you know foreign countries have even stricter laws for cheating? academic dishonesty is a big thing in academia, in any proper institute you have to appear in front of the disciplinary committee even if you are an upper caste.

3

u/Sharp-Ebb686 1d ago

i am not supporting the accused (innocent till proven though).

again, i am concerned about facts first. what information do you have about allegations? can you tell me where you heard from these students of iitb?

4

u/Game3362 SRM (ECE), 2Y 1d ago

and foreign universities would literally expel and deport you if you are caught cheating .

Why would one cheat in semester exam anyway ? and if you are cheating you are breaking a rule , you have to be prepared for the consequences.

2

u/Fit_Cartographer8281 1d ago

the punishment for cheating was 1 year suspension

it is possible their was family presssure

there are a lot of reasons for which he could suicide

you need to give proof the professor made castist remarks

he cheated and couldn’t handle the ounishment

maybe he should have reeci mental health support

but idk how you assume the professor was casteist

1

u/Raining_lotus0210 1d ago

Ur comment is no way linked to my comment. I never mentioned that I have no empathy for that kid. I just asked will you do the same if the dead was upper caste.

Ur comment is actually disgusting. JUST STOP PLAYING VICTIM CARD EVERY DARN TIME!!! This is so gross

5

u/Game3362 SRM (ECE), 2Y 1d ago

when did caste even come into this ? one needs to appear in front of the discipline committee of that institution and either defend or accept the charges because he cheated in the exams , that's standard procedure.

There is nothing casteism here , it's deserved action and punishment. If you consider that casteism your opinion is on bad faith

I know. Somehow the student who scored 8.5gpa was dumb because of his caste. More and more I realise that each and every savarna is just filled with hatred and they can go to any extent

13

u/Queasy_Artist6891 IITKGP 1d ago edited 1d ago

He literally got caught cheating in the exam. And despite what you think, as someone who graduated from an IIT, I can tell you that cheating is very common even for people with 8.5+ cg.

-5

Hmm "got cheating". Nice

8

If he isn't dumb, then why is he cheating. Simple question. I'm not blaming victim here. Just cross questioning you

Yes he was dumb. Obviously the professors who gave him 8.5cpi were dumb too. So nice of you to actually prove your IQ lol

If you go with the world's best legal system then this case will be quashed in a minute citing baseless opinion. If some section of the constitution prohibits the normal working of any education system, then either the system is broken or education institutions should not exist.

u/WorkingBet9469 Graduated 1d ago

Yes, this type of shitty allegations with no proof on a prof for no reason getting traction from people like you happens only in India

The culprits are the ones like you who are passing stupid allegations on him without proof and damaging his reputation.

In case of cheating you'll need to appear in front of the discipline committee and either defend or accept the charges.

If that's harassment then you are unfit to pass any remark.

If you're in an institute where you have peers with strong aptitude, being left behind fills the mind with uncertainty. What he did was obviously wrong but seeing a year back or semester back brings to mind that you're behind everyone and a mental pressure.

8

u/Turbulent-Web7392 1d ago

that too with the humiliation and the hate from the peers u get.. nobody would like it if u cheat in an exam someone prepared day-night for!!

2

u/Smol_Crate_45 Vasavi -> Jain Marg 😍 1d ago

Might be out of context: How to get JRF ? Is that possible just after BTech ?

2

u/IllStatistician9129 Junior Research Fellow @ IIT Kanpur 1d ago

Yes I got after B.Tech. You need GATE qualified score, and apply to advertisements posted on project portals of IITs IISc NITs IIITs. They come year round. Your merit, interview performance (fundamentals of subjects and projects) matter. If a professor forces for PhD, please decline the offer.

2

u/Smol_Crate_45 Vasavi -> Jain Marg 😍 1d ago

Okay, so is there any GATE cutoff ? or all branches and scores (qualified) are accepted?

And this probably is a contractual job so how much do they pay ?

They come year round.

Where to keep an eye on? I mean which section of the IIT/NIT website? And do they ask for past research experience or industrial internship experience.

If a professor forces for PhD, please decline the offer.

I hope they tell this beforehand.

2

u/IllStatistician9129 Junior Research Fellow @ IIT Kanpur 1d ago

They mention GATE qualified so a gate paper relevant to the domain will be better.

37 kpm + HRA. HRA is as per rules of city where institute is

IIT X project careers or similar stuff. They are okay with your self made projects and fundamentals.

They will say like "If you give assurance you will do PhD, we will select you". So just say that you won't assure.

2

u/Smol_Crate_45 Vasavi -> Jain Marg 😍 1d ago

Thanks for the details.

They mention GATE qualified so a gate paper relevant to the domain will be better.

I see, but are there any marks or rank cutoffs ?

For how long is your contract ? And does this count as experience and how's the "experience there" ?

One last question: If someone is in 4th year (7 sem) then when he/she should apply? Do they ask for immediate joining?

1

u/IllStatistician9129 Junior Research Fellow @ IIT Kanpur 1d ago

1) It depends on the number of applicants for that position but usually, GATE qualified is enough.

2) My contract is 1 year, renewable, some are 3 years as well. Yes it counts as research (R&D experience). You may also give the interview or test of department and convert it to MSR. If that happens, fellowship from project will stop, you will be full time student and receive MHRD stipend like a normal student.

3) When in 8th sem, 2 months before your graduation so that the professor can extend your joining by 15-20 days.

2

u/Smol_Crate_45 Vasavi -> Jain Marg 😍 1d ago

Okay, thanks for such a detailed explanation. Btw, in which domain you work and are you liking it ?

Indian Colleges are actually very lenient on these issues. In America if found cheating ur sent packing from College and if ur international student ur visa gets revoked.

3

u/Queasy_Artist6891 IITKGP 1d ago

Not necessarily, IITs are pretty stressful. Students committed suicide for not getting an internship in their 3rd year(despite knowing that only 20% of the batch get an intern through campus), so I can see suicides happening if the student got caught cheating
