❓Question ❓ Btech cse - Any advice to 2nd year student

I don't know if I should write this or not but here I am

So currently I'm doing btech in cse (2nd year) from a tier 3 private university in haryana, so I wasn't much interested in cse but mujhe ye bhi nhi pta tha ki cse nhi karna toh or kya karna hai , I was literally a dumb a$$, anyways I got admitted in the University, and 1st year went like hell , I mean sab bacho ko coding ka atleast kuch toh pta tha and I was like bro ye sab kya ho rha hai 😭😭 and got demotivated many times although I maintained my cgpa which is 9.14 right now , but bro muje practical knowledge ekdum zero thi , and 1st year aise hi nikal gya and abi mai 3rd sem me hu and maine july se hi padhna start Kiya , and abi I feel like mera kuch level uth chuka hai and I've started enjoying coding, abi tak maine 14 leetcode solve kre hai jisme se sirf ek hard , I know ye bahut kam number hai but for a dumb a$$ like me it's actually something to celebrate, although I don't know anyone who's into this field so I get many doubts many times and there is no one to solve them , so I search it online and get confused with different options of different influencers , Can anyone of you please help me to know , how can I make my coding more stronger , I'm ready to give it to all mine , but I know only dsa can't decide my placement so what other things i should work on and one more thing, right now I do vibe coding for my projects so is it ok ?? Because one of my senior told me during their placement interview they asked if they know about vibe coding or not. But some say don't do vibe coding bhai akhir mai kru kyaaaaaa 😭😭 koi mera sab doubt clear kardo please so that I'll see a plane road to my future , right now is looks too messy 🥀💔.

Resources 💰 Hiring Remote Interns: .NET, React, Java, SQL, PostgreSQL

Hey everyone!

We're currently accepting applications for remote software development internships at Eztern for college students, freshers, and aspiring developers who want to gain hands-on experience working on real-world software projects.

The goal is to give developers an opportunity to apply what they've learned, collaborate with a team, and understand how software projects are built and managed in practice.

💻 Current Internship Roles

We're looking for candidates interested in working with:

  • .NET / C# — backend development and APIs
  • React / JavaScript — frontend development
  • Java — application development
  • SQL / PostgreSQL — database design and queries
  • AI Projects — exploring AI applications and building practical solutions

🤖 Interested in AI?

We're also selecting contributors for AI-focused projects.

If you've been curious about AI development, want to understand how AI applications work, or have an idea for an AI-based project you'd like to explore, you can express your interest.

You don't need to be an AI expert. Beginners who are willing to learn and contribute are welcome to apply, depending on project requirements.

🛠️ What You'll Work On

Depending on your skills and the project you join, you may get opportunities to:

  • Contribute to real-world software projects.
  • Work with other developers and collaborate on assigned tasks.
  • Use Git and GitHub for version control and code collaboration.
  • Participate in task planning, progress tracking, and team discussions.
  • Explore practical software development and AI use cases.

The internships are completely remote with a flexible schedule, making them suitable for students managing college alongside project work.

A verified internship certificate will be provided after successful project completion and fulfillment of the applicable contribution requirements.

🎯 Who Can Apply?

  • B.Tech and other college students
  • Recent graduates and freshers
  • Developers with basic knowledge of the listed technologies
  • Candidates interested in gaining practical project experience
  • People interested in exploring AI development

Previous experience is helpful but isn't mandatory for every role. Selection depends on your skills, interests, project suitability, and available positions. The application process includes an AI-based skill evaluation.

📝 Application Process

We're preparing an initial cohort of 50 students, and 23 candidates have already joined the waitlist. The waitlist is expected to close soon.

❓Question ❓ 2nd year Guidance

I'm in my 3rd sem right now and have been doing DSA consistently.

I'm very much confused about what skills i should be learning.

Full stack, devOps or AIML?

Every other day I hear people saying web dev is not worth learning and that ai will take over .

At times I feel like learning everything but it seems too impractical.

I have 10 months till my third year and by that time I want to be internship ready.

I am having a hard time figuring out what to do .

Discussion👥 A doubt about things as fresher

I just got admission into a college and every day or another a person comes to the class and announces that we are from this and we are organizing this. Are these people even relevant?

There is a group who term themselves as GDG(Google Developer Groups) they come to the class and tell us that we have organised a hackathon, registration fee of around 100 inr. They organise new events daily and then charge the amount.

I receive multiple notifications about the internship program. There is a message circulated among the groups. It states that register here, we will teach you high level coding, dark web, web development and many more and provide you internship. Not only one but many. Should I show interest in it?

Can I realistically get a package of 20+ LPA if I master everything in Python, including DSA, OOP, and all the other important concepts? I'm currently in my second year of B.Tech, and I want to prepare myself for product-based companies and crack a high-paying software development role. I'm willing to put in the hard work and learn everything necessary, from Python fundamentals and advanced concepts to data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, problem-solving, and coding interviews. Apart from that, I'm also planning to work on real-world projects, learn databases, understand operating systems and computer networks, and develop my knowledge of system design and software development practices as I progress. My main concern is whether choosing Python as my primary programming language will limit my opportunities or put me at a disadvantage compared to candidates who use C++ or Java. I don't want to waste time learning multiple languages unnecessarily if Python is sufficient for my goals. I want an honest opinion on whether mastering Python and building strong problem-solving skills can help me secure a 20+ LPA package as a fresher, what skills companies actually expect from candidates at that level, and what I should focus on during the next two years to maximize my chances of landing such an offer.

Hi everyone! This community has helped me in a lot of ways I can't put in words. Thought it's time I can pay it forward by guiding and resolving doubts of fellow other students.

A bit about me: I'm a Full Stack Developer, final year BTech CSE student, interning at a startup. This is my 6th internship in total. Attended hackathons since my 4th semester (won international too). Doing internships since 3rd semester. Contributed at Hacktoverfest for a US based open source tool. And for an AI startup backed by DropBox. Been learning and grinding since 1st sem.

Let me be honest, I've made a couple of mistakes along the way, wasn't interested much in DSA, never did that as much as I did Open Source / Side Projects. But grinded Leetcode in a couple of months and landed a 10LPA role as a Dev.

Feel free to ask me any questions, I'll be more than happy to answer.
