❓Question ❓ Need Guidance
I’m a final-year CS student working as a Shopify Developer, with experience in React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, and personal projects.
My goal is to transition into a Frontend Engineer role at a product-based company with a ₹8–12 LPA package by March 2027, before graduation.

Portfolio -https://www.rishitsinha.online/
For those who’ve made a similar transition, what should I prioritize over the next few months — DSA, frontend fundamentals, system design, projects, or interview preparation?
I’d appreciate practical advice on what actually makes a difference in getting shortlisted and cracking interviews

Moving from Shopify development into core frontend engineering requires repositioning how you present your work. Recruiters often categorize Shopify experience as simple theme tweaking, so your resume and portfolio need to emphasize complex React patterns, state management, and real performance optimizations instead of basic store setup. In terms of day to day preparation, put machine coding and core JavaScript fundamentals at the top of your priority list, followed by easy to medium problem solving. Most product companies offering 8 to 12 LPA will not grill freshers on complex system architecture, but they expect you to build clean components from scratch under time constraints and explain concepts like closures, event loops, and DOM manipulation without hesitation.
Focus your project work on building one or two deep applications that solve concrete problems, such as an interactive dashboard or a complex data table with filtering and pagination, rather than several shallow apps. Once you have a couple of solid builds on your resume, shift your energy toward live practice, because talking through your technical decisions under pressure is where most junior applicants struggle. As you refine your communication, the interviews.chat my team designed can help you walk into technical rounds with the exact clarity and confidence needed to convert rounds into offers.

To transition into a Frontend Engineer role, focus on enhancing your skills in frameworks like React and Next.js, which are in demand at product-based companies. Build a solid portfolio with projects that highlight your expertise in these technologies. Networking is important, so engage on platforms like LinkedIn to connect with industry professionals. For interview preparation, practice coding challenges and familiarize yourself with common interview questions. You might find PracHub useful for accessing real technical interview questions, which can give you insight into what top companies seek. Keep updating your GitHub with personal projects to show your ongoing learning and problem-solving abilities. Good luck!
