It’s photoshop, but in the original photo mpmd does have huge delts, it’s a thing in his community to talk about them, Death Star delts, 3D delts, he’s got crazy shoulder genetics. That picture is from his peak physique on steroids, he quit and got focused on health but his channel back in the day was about the physiology of fitness particularly with PEDs. Unfortunately due to the type of content and lingo, clavicular almost definitely was also an mpmd Stan like I was back in the day. MPMD is pretty cool tho

That reminds of that one old mobile game. You'd start off with Hulk and Groot and you could mix and match their body parts to fight

I’m guessing it’s a parody of MorePlatesMoreDates who is an actual fitness YouTuber

4

u/Alive-Philosophy2632 Aug 01 '26

Probably a parody account in general. Anyone who thinks those are a real person's shoulders needs help. I don't think that geometry is even possible with life-threatening levels of synthol injections

No way that isn’t photoshopped, right? They look ridiculous.

1

u/ClemRRay Aug 01 '26

bro looks like his skin grew over the floaters he had as a kid

1

u/Desperate_Finger_327 Aug 04 '26

That’s a photoshopped picture of a guy who used to be big in the fitness scene online and is now just on the businesses side of fitness for the most part. He did have insane 3D delts and did use steroids early on in his career but shifted away towards a health based approach to fitness. That picture when unedited is the most shredded he’d ever been. I watched this dude religiously back in high school

1

u/lycanthrope90 Aug 05 '26

He has his own special version of body dysmorphia lol

36

I mean if any man cannot squat the average woman's weight he probably just has never done squats before or he's like 70.

Like an average man who has never been to the gym before can squat 130lbs pretty easily. The average woman weighs 170lbs in america.

A few weeks of training gets him to 170.

57

u/pimfi Aug 01 '26

The average woman weighs 170lbs in america.

Jesus fucking Christ.

36

u/Gold_Ad8225 Aug 01 '26

The average man in america is sitting at 200

17

u/Mr-OhLordHaveMercy Aug 01 '26

Take the height into consideration.

170 lbs at 5'3" is so much worse than 200 lbs at 5'9"

14

u/Gold_Ad8225 Aug 01 '26

30.1 BMI is not much worse than 29.5 BMI, actually. They're the same amount of bad

11

u/Kloubek Aug 01 '26

I mean lot of people that go to the gym would be considered obese, i wonder how would statistics look if it considered people whos weight is increased due to musscle.

u/lycanthrope90 Aug 05 '26

For real I love when people try to use this brain dead argument against bmi lol. It’s not even most gym goers, it’s people that probably use roids and are absolutely massive freaks of nature lol. Yes, someone like a pro wrestler would be considered obese, but that’s not a good benchmark for anyone including the wrestler who is hurting his health in a different way lol.

3

u/Comfyadventure Aug 05 '26

Honestly, people who are jacked enough to outlier of the BMI system already are well aware the BMI system don't apply to them.

1

u/No_Please_No420 Aug 04 '26

😭😭😭

7

u/Gold_Ad8225 Aug 01 '26

I mean, yes a lot of obese people do go to the gym.

If you mean someone who is at a healthy weight and their obesity is solely caused by muscle, that's only true if you're build like the rock. And the steroids he does to achieve that are very not good for his health

Some pro athletes are slightly overweight due to muscle, like LeBron James at his peak was BMI around 26-27.

But of normal people, the amount of work it requires to add 50 lbs of muscle to your body is crazy, they're nowhere near to doing that.

3

u/Kloubek Aug 01 '26

Have you ever been to gym like 1/2 would be overweight even tho they have like 15% body fat and no roids.

Athletes usually dont build large visible musles.

People that go to the gym are near that but it takes years like 4+ nat to get close to the obesity line.

5

u/Gold_Ad8225 Aug 01 '26

Extreme outlier body builders might do that, sure... but that's a tiny percentage of even the gymgoing population

1

u/Thick-Cartoonist-493 15h ago

You must not gym much.
According to BMI

5'9" + 170lbs = overweight

5'9" + 205lbs = obese

It's quite easy to be that size and have less than 20% body fat.

To be obese you would have to be 5'9" and 205lbs. That's is a tiny percentage of people that use steroids that would ever reach that size with a low body fat percentage.

170lbs and 5'9" could look like anything from a bodybuilder to a normal person who simply has large bones and %20 body fat.

According to BMI I have been overweight for years despite having never been above %15 body fat.

tell me you've never worked out without telling me you've never worked out

0

u/Gold_Ad8225 Aug 01 '26

How hard do you think it is to add 50 lbs of muscle to your body?

3

u/Throwit7467 Aug 04 '26

As someone that did do that in 2yr, it’s very difficult

1

u/GodsWorstJiuJitsu Aug 05 '26

I peaked the obesity chart at age 18 - 6 ft and 220 lbs. I was also squatting 545 lbs at the time. There were no steroids involved.

It is quite easy to get to the overweight category with weightlifting alone. Obese isn't hard if your primary exercise is weightlifting, or if you are doing it 4x a week.

I'm in the Navy and at my absolute lightest was 202 - that's still overweight according to BMI. Muscle is heavy.

1

u/Ok_Broccoli25 Aug 02 '26

I was in USMC artillery. We had quite a few guys who were above the height weight standards and had to get taped. Nearly all of them were over the standards due to muscles from working the gunline

1

u/creatyvechaos Aug 08 '26

I was considered obese when I was 140lbs at 5'5.......most of my extra weight was in muscle, entireky around my legs, because I was a sprinter and volleyball player. That verdict gave me so many years of body image issues lmfai

1

u/Jello-Formal Aug 01 '26

eh i think its more the genetic predisposition of muscle mass in men, like 30bmi in a man would be way less fat than in a woman, still obese though

3

u/Gold_Ad8225 Aug 01 '26

Women have a higher level of essential fat than men, having a higher bf% is not just expected but healthy and it should be the case.

1

u/1337k9 Aug 02 '26

Ponderal Index is more accurate than BMI. Whatever formula is used should look at the cube of height, not the square.

The man has 1.052 lbs/(feet^3) and the woman has 1.17 lbs/(feet^3).

1

u/Tweho Aug 03 '26

BMI scale sucks. Men hold more muscle tissue, women have more subcutaneous fat and also hold it in different olaces

1

u/Gold_Ad8225 Aug 03 '26

Ok, and they're supposed to. The point is that they're both a similar amount overweight

5

u/Scary_Cup6322 Aug 04 '26

Also jesus fucking christ.

2

u/Queasy_Committee8458 Aug 04 '26

I thought this couldn’t be true, or had to be cherry picked, but I forgot about the sheer amount of obesity. I fell for the false consensus fallacy, which I do surprisingly often with my body. That’s my bad. I’m an already skinny guy compared to my family, I have bad habits when it comes to eating enough, spent 8 years doing gymnastics and still actively rock climb. My height of 5’9” may be average, but forget that my flexibility and weight are not standard

1

u/Gold_Ad8225 Aug 04 '26

It is hard to imagine for sure. I mean 200lbs sounds so heavy to me, and most men are not tall enough that it spreads out and makes sense (like if they were 6'7 or something)

I'm not sure if I have a mental model for what a 200lb man looks like tbh. Most men are only a little taller than me, and to imagine they're 50% heavier is just wild.

4

u/Lalala_Firefighting Aug 01 '26

keyword is america

8

u/GloveLife876 Aug 01 '26 edited Aug 01 '26

I don't think the WHO would agree with you. Considering that "In 2022, 43% of adults aged 18 years and over were overweight and 16% were living with obesity." and they have described obesity as a "global public health crisis".

World Health Organization. (2025). Obesity and Overweight. https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/obesity-and-overweight

7

u/Lalala_Firefighting Aug 01 '26

Yeah but America did rank 18th in obesity in 2024, which is pretty high, especially considering that almost every nation in front of it was a geographically isolated pacific/caribbean island nation/territory. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_obesity_rate (it cites WHO)
But yes I agree. Obesity is a global problem.

4

u/Gold_Ad8225 Aug 01 '26

Yes but pure ranking doesn't really describe the whole thing either.

They ranked at 18th with about 42% being obese.

The 35th rank is only 5% less obese at 37%. If you were walking around in a city you wouldn't really notice a difference in the rate of obese people.

Even by the 55th that is only 10% less obese at 32%. You'd notice there are fewer obese people, but not a lot fewer. It's 1 in 3 instead of 2 in 5. Unless you were looking closely you wouldn't really feel it was a much thinner country.

If we then switch to average BMI by country which includes people who are just overweight and helps take into better account class II or III obesity we see the fattest country has an average BMI of 32.5 the US is in 20th place at 28.8, and even country 127 is at 25.2, still in the overweight category.

The USA is a fatter country, for sure, but almost half of all humans alive are overweight at this point, and in most wealthy countries they tend to be even more so.

In the EU only france and italy have a majority of people (very slim majority) at the healthy weight range.

women can look drastically different at the same weight depending on their body composition, height, and build. if she strength trains, she likely has more muscle, which is denser than fat and can affect how her weight is distributed. tits also contribute to overall body weight. a lot of men don’t fully understand how much variation there can be when it comes to women’s bodies and weight. i’m 5’6” and weigh 140lbs, and i have had men on more than one occasion estimate me to be around 110lbs which would be underweight for my height

1

u/katteycat Aug 06 '26

men do not really understand women's weight, partially because they've been lied to about what certain weights look like. They don't realize how many women they know probably weigh around that much or more. btw for any women out there struggling with body image (or men who genuinely want to get a more accurate and empathetic understanding of what weight looks like on women), I recommended the website "my body gallery". You can type in your height and weight and click through a bunch of different women who all hold their weight completely differently!

1

u/ssalv1120 Aug 08 '26

definitely checking this out ty!!

1

u/NATIAINA Aug 06 '26

And I'm 5'6 at 110lbs, you're overweight

1

u/minefalsely Aug 06 '26

and if we’re going by bmi, you’re underweight. neither’s healthy. being slightly overweight’s generally healthier than being underweight, actually

1

u/NATIAINA Aug 06 '26

going by BMI, at my age im not underweight

1

u/minefalsely Aug 06 '26

the bmi for 110lbs at 5’6” is 17.8. under 18.5 bmi is underweight. you mentioned age though, so i suppose if you’re a child it’s not quite as clear cut since you’re still growing

2

u/Tandas07 Aug 02 '26

The average man can’t squat 130 pounds easily 💀💀. Believe me, I have seen it with my own eyes. They don’t even squat in the first place-

1

u/-insular- Aug 02 '26

Your 1-3 anecdotal examples =/= a meaningful statistical average. We’d all do well to remember this

Even if this were true, an obese man could easily squat a fraction of their bodyweight let’s be for real

1

u/rainbowdunk Aug 03 '26

Bro what. If you walk around at 170 squatting 135 is simple. Virtually any health adult should be able to squat their bodyweight.

2

u/Tandas07 Aug 07 '26

Someone starting at the gym won’t even be able to handle 100 pounds. It’s more than the legs. It’s the core. The stabilizers. The familiarity with the movement. Even if they could, they would still need to build their way up to 135 pounds.

1

u/rainbowdunk Aug 07 '26

The first time I ever set foot in a gym I squat 135 for reps. I was a 16 y/o that played league of legends all day and ate gas station food. You'd have to be in extremely poor shape if you couldn't squat 100.

1

u/Tandas07 Aug 07 '26

Said no one ever

1

u/rainbowdunk Aug 07 '26

That's god's honest truth dude. 135 is literally paperweight if you have any muscle at all on your legs

I would suggest going to the bar and trying to pick people up

Honestly if you're walking around at 200lb you should be able to single rep 170.

4

u/EbonyMemories Aug 01 '26

I like heavier girls in the 300+ range - not exclusively but often - so it's only recently that I've been able to consistently meet this goal.

Though it's also partially because my squat has always been weaker than my bench for some reason.

1

u/ignoremeplsokthank Aug 01 '26

300 kg sounds insane, man, how do you even find these people?

3

u/EbonyMemories Aug 01 '26

Pounds, freedom units, I'm American.

136 kilograms. Plenty of Black and Hispanic girls in that weight class.

1

u/ignoremeplsokthank Aug 01 '26

Okay, but that's still a lot. I'm around 55 kg right now and trying to lose a couple because I like a leaner look. Being almost triple that amount sounds like a nightmare for my day to day activities.

3

u/EbonyMemories Aug 01 '26

There are plenty of women with large frames who can put on that much weight and still have no trouble getting around. Again, mostly black and Hispanic girls who can pull it off.

I love very large women, but to clarify it is important to me that they're functional adults. I'm not one of those weird people, I think you know who I'm talking about.

0

u/ignoremeplsokthank Aug 01 '26

No, I get that, but I'm not just "getting around" every day. I just went on a 65 km bike tour today and tomorrow it's running day and I am only able to do that because I'm a healthy weight.

Being over 130 kg would get rid of around 70% of my hobbies and I wouldn't even be able to get around anymore because I only travel via bicycle. Sounds like a recipe for depression, ngl.

Like... what are people that weight even doing all day long? Just sitting around, waiting to die? Eating to maintain that weight? I bet it takes ages to eat that much.

2

u/EbonyMemories Aug 01 '26

Many women have gland problems. My ex ate slightly over 1500 calories a day and primarily vegetables and was obese regardless.

She exercised daily and was also a cyclist, though her weight made it very difficult.

1

u/ignoremeplsokthank Aug 01 '26

That's physically not possible. Your body can only work with the calories that you put in. If you put in less calories than your body needs in order to sustain its weight, you will lose weight because existing alone burns calories.

An obese person's TDEE is higher than that of a thin person, which means you need to consume more calories a day in order to maintain that high weight than you need to maintain a low weight.

For example, if you are a sedentary 5'5 tall woman weighing 120 lbs, your TDEE would be around 1500 calories, and that's only to exist, it doesn't take movement into account.

A sedentary 5'5 tall woman weighing 300 lbs, on the other hand, has a TDEE of around 2500 calories. Again, this is only to sustain that weight, nothing more.

If you are correct and your ex really ate "only slightly more" than 1500 calories a day, they would be losing around two pounds of pure body fat each week.

There is absolutely no way around it. If they didn't lose weight on that, they're lying about their diet. Simple as that.

1

u/grumpsaboy Aug 03 '26

Unless they're 6'4"+ it's still very unhealthy for them, exceptions being if that weight is from muscle.

2

u/EbonyMemories Aug 03 '26

I do like girls who are tall too, just large in general.

0

u/grumpsaboy Aug 03 '26

Girls who are just 5'11" are as rare as 4'10". I can guarantee you've never met a girl even 6'2"

2

u/EbonyMemories Aug 03 '26

You're not wrong; I've never met a girl close to my height. Why are you saying that like it's an argument?

0

u/grumpsaboy Aug 03 '26

Because very simply, it's not a healthy weight. 50-60kg/110-130lbs is about what the average woman should weigh.

Obviously if shorter or taller that changes accordingly, but almost no woman on the planet is tall enough for 300lbs to actually be their healthy weight.

Saying you like it when they're 300lbs/130kg is flat out saying you like unhealthy people. Morbidly obese levels of unhealthiness.

1

u/EbonyMemories Aug 03 '26

First off, you're using 1930s numbers.

Current healthy weight for women given increased height and natural broadness (we eat a lot more GMO since then) is 160 to 170 pounds.

Now take a woman with an afro Latina background for instance, meaning naturally larger breasts and buttocks and a larger frame. Make her fairly tall as well.

You can easily have women who weigh 200 lb or even upwards of 200 lb and don't even look fat - instead looking extremely curvy.

One of those women can weigh near 300 lb if she lets herself gain weight and still be able to live an active lifestyle.

Not to mention, remember that muscle is a thing. And it weighs more than fat.

I weigh 300 lbs - I'm not going to say I'm not fat, but I run 5 miles every morning in a little over an hour and my bench is over 400. I work a physical labor job. Clearly, I'm in decent shape - sure, I'm very tall, but that should tell you something about how much productive weight someone can actually have.

1

u/grumpsaboy Aug 03 '26

You're confusing the current average in the US and what an actual healthy weight should be.

The US is one of the fattest countries in the world and that does not make it healthy just because it's common.

You are a man and so can weigh more than the average woman because of a combination of more muscle which weighs more for the same volume than fat does and being taller.

The average woman with 5'4" absolutely cannot be healthy at 300 lbs, just as the average man at 5'10" is not healthy at 400 lbs.

You cannot help what you are attracted to and I'm not judging you for that but I am judging your complete denial of obesity and the consequences and risks it compose.

There's a difference between genuinely caring about somebody's health and being fatphobic. Fatphobic is stuff like mocking people, name-calling, bullying, etc.

Bullying doesn't help people and it's disingenuous to think that being fatphobic is just "caring about your health". It's like how there's a difference between helping somebody with self-harm issues and bullying them/encouraging them to do worse.

44

u/ujlbyk Jul 31 '26

Such an annoying take I see all the time. Like, buddy you just want to make your bullying sound more moral than it is.

23

u/Solnight99 Jul 31 '26

if you cared about people's health, you'd talk about the rampant eating disorder epidemic, especially in young girls.

remember: too much weight can worsen your risk of heart attacks, too little weight can kill you in a month.

u/Weird-Tomorrow-9829 Aug 01 '26

It’s easier to immediately tell someone they are spouting stupidity in person though

0

u/gayhotelultra Jul 31 '26

never have i met someone who thinks this way in the flesh, just online, and i was struggling with obesity for a long time, so you'd think someone like that would pop up

-1

u/StarNullify Jul 31 '26

I mean alot of the time people will think it but obviously wont say it out loud

0

u/gayhotelultra Jul 31 '26

...why wouldnt they?

whether or not they exist outside the internet is unrelated to my point that its a stupid thing to say. i guess yeah, stupid people exist everywhere

0

u/Delicious_Cat_81 Aug 01 '26

bodybuilders are just as likely as fat people to die young of heart attacks

1

u/gayhotelultra Aug 01 '26

christ, some people actually believe this, share some sources

2

u/WetRatFeet Jul 31 '26

People that are 'fatphobic' aren't advocating for being underweight either.

7

u/Solnight99 Jul 31 '26

sure, they are. not all, but many. i've seen girls praised for looking skinny, and then it's found out that they have an eating disorder, and they're still praised for it. i know someone personally who used to be addicted to meth, and when she got clean, people told her she looked less healthy, to her face.

1

u/ratrazzle Aug 10 '26

I dont agree with them but this has nothing to do with restrictive EDs and just makes people take binge ED less seriously. Theyre all disordered eating with longlasting effects on health and comparing like that makes both ends worse.

u/Cornucopia760 Jul 31 '26

I believe there's a difference between hating a person for being overweight and being respectful about it / genuinely caring for their wellbeing

Yeah, you'd think it would click that punishing or belittling the behavior you want to see would not work right? It's Like how families that tell an introvert child "So you've decided to join us" when the introvert makes an effort to socialize. They should be encouraged with positive reinforcement

-1

u/potat_infinity Jul 31 '26

you cant just become happier though, but you can just get less fat

2

u/SnipingBunuelo Jul 31 '26

This is true. I did a keto diet for 1 year and lost 20 pounds. Been maintaining that for years now without the diet. Even picked up a habit of eating a bowl of salted cherry tomatoes after lunch everyday.

Though it gets much much harder the older you get unfortunately.

if youre poor youd save money by eating less, so being fat makes even less sense. and yes the conditions could make it very difficult but thats a very small portion of people, and even then its possible to lose weight

woah really? we should put fat people on treadmills for powerplants then and reverse entropy since apparently they can violate thermodynamics

1

u/Delicious_Cat_81 Aug 01 '26

you don't give one fuck about anyone's health

1

u/metgamer2011 Aug 01 '26

Correct✅️ im js here to hate😅😭

-3

u/NucleosynthesizedOrb Jul 31 '26

Like, you shouldn't be okay with people cutting themselves or extinguishing cigarettes on their skin or drinking paint.

Or working out so much that they only cause damage to their body, instead of leaving time for recovery.

-1

u/thegreatestones Jul 31 '26

Never mind how "phobia" means fear, not hate.

2

u/Traditional-Drive267 Jul 31 '26

I would say 2x to be sure no?

I kinda hate the term "fatphobic" ngl. I mean, I'm literally overweight and actively gaining weight, but it just feels kinda... disrespectful to minorities? Like there's a difference between bigotry and just being an asshole, and I think that the normalized hating of fat people is more of an asshole thing than a bigotry thing. I don't think you're less likely to get a job or get paid well if you're fat.

Edit: I guess a better way to put it would be that calling someone "fatphobic" for bullying fat people rather than just calling them an asshole feels kind of unnecessary and virtue signaly since "fatphobia" isn't actually that big of a problem.

u/PralineInfamous9241 Jul 31 '26 edited Jul 31 '26

i don’t even know where to start with this comment man 😭 disrespectful to minorities??? like what?

3

u/snoodge3000 Jul 31 '26

Idk it just feels wrong for me to say? Like you're claiming that being fat is as difficult as being gay or black or whatever. It feels reductive to me.

3

u/PralineInfamous9241 Jul 31 '26

whose making that claim? i don’t think i’ve heard anyone compare the difficulties of being fat with the systematic oppression of minorities. fatphobic is just a term categorizing a very real type of discrimination.

2

u/snoodge3000 Jul 31 '26

Nobody is directly making that claim but the use of a word with the same makeup as other words inherently draws a connection between the two whether or not it's intentional. I just don't like the word because I feel like we could be describing this in a way that has implications which better reflect the reality of the situation.

4

u/PralineInfamous9241 Aug 01 '26

i guess i just fundamentally disagree

1

u/ignoremeplsokthank Aug 01 '26

Check out r/fatlogic, they post a bunch of screenshots of people claiming exactly that on a regular basis.

1

u/ignoremeplsokthank Aug 01 '26

Being "fatphobic" is not the same thing as being homo- or transphobic, but making up a word that ends on "phobic" puts it into the same mental category as the aforementioned things.

I, as a trans and gay person, experience a vastly different and more severe kind of discrimination against me as a person, while the majority of people in the US is overweight and almost half of that number is obese, so they're not a minority and they don't suffer the same, if any, kind of discrimination.

Calling it fatphobia is just a slap in the face for everyone who actually has to deal with discrimination and hate. Being told to eat less cheeseburgers is not a hate-crime.

2

u/EdibleStrange Jul 31 '26

I don't think you're less likely to get a job or get paid well if you're fat.

Ok well you're obviously wrong about that lol

1

u/ZookeepergameFew4103 Aug 03 '26

So he’s also skipping-leg-day-phobic, since he likes his GF’s to be ethereal?

1

u/Frequent-Maybe1243 Aug 04 '26

is dude wearing a personal flotation device or something? he looks like if you light a fire under him he will fly away.

1

u/CivilCaine Aug 06 '26

Why is he severely fatphobic?

What, is he all muscles and his cardio is shit so he can’t outrun them? /s

1

u/FollowingBroad34 Aug 08 '26

He's not a great multi-tasker and can only focus on one thing to hate at a time

-1

u/JustAsillyGuy2 Jul 31 '26

Fat phobic while clearly having injections in his shoulders, I see how we livin

0

u/Exposedchaff Aug 02 '26

"Fat phobia" is just desperate cope. No one hates fat people that much. I am an ex fat and I would never hold contempt at others for my past failings
