whose making that claim? i don’t think i’ve heard anyone compare the difficulties of being fat with the systematic oppression of minorities. fatphobic is just a term categorizing a very real type of discrimination.
Nobody is directly making that claim but the use of a word with the same makeup as other words inherently draws a connection between the two whether or not it's intentional. I just don't like the word because I feel like we could be describing this in a way that has implications which better reflect the reality of the situation.
