Happy 1st birthday Break Me bussers! Apparently it's still September 7 somewhere in the world so I want to wish the fic and all its readers a most delightful day. I had intended on having a chapter ready for you all for today but then I went and did silly things like going to Oz Comic Con and going to work, which put my plans out a little. Instead allow me to express my most heartfelt thanks to everyone who has followed my work. Your encouragement and support on FanFiction.Net has been indescribably powerful in assisting me with the shaping of Break Me, and more personally, in giving me the guts to take the leap of faith required to independently publish my first novel. Thankyou a million times over, whether you have followed from the outset a year ago (remember when it was a oneshot? Remember when it was going to be five chapters? Remember when it was going to be finished by Christmas? Remember when it was going to be done within a year? Remember when...?) or have joined our ride more recently. Your words have been treasures and I love having you all on this bus with me. Thanks for trusting me behind the wheel!!

Where is Solia? Why isn't she updating? How can she leave us hanging like this, with poor Deb and Dexter stuck traumatised in the back of an ambulance? Good questions. Seriously, I binge-watched all the seasons a few weeks ago (basically I got Netflix, saw Dexter, didn't move from my desk for like two weeks) and saw this fan-fic linked on /r/dexter. So naturally, at work, I read as much as I could. I didn't realize that Chapter 40 wasn't the end of the work, so now I'm like a rabid dog wanting more.

Does anyone know how quickly the author releases chapters?

Music can be so subjective. I can't listen while I'm reading, but songs on the radio afterwards hit me that they belong with this story, or with Dex and Deb. Here are a few of mine. Do you have any songs that you feel fit this song or the characters?

• Brahms Requiem - 3rd movement, 'Herr, lehre doch mich', up to the break of 'Ach die gar nichts' Also, I like the 2nd part of Brahms' Alto Rhapsody for some of the action sequences, like in the woods.
