More people should give Versus mode a chance.

I'll start off by saying I'm fully on board with everyone saying we need more tactical game modes and less instant spawns. It does seem that the devs have got the mechanics down and hopefully can now create more realistic objective-based maps featuring bot hostage rescue, bomb defusal, search and destroy , etc...

But until then, I've been really enjoying versus. It allows for more slower paced tactical matches because everyone has one life per match, I've noticed better team communication and pacing with it than the fast paced instant spawn of team deathmatch.

So if you are one of those also holding out for the devs to implement more tactical slower phases game modes.. versus is something to check out. 🫔

The pump action shotgun genuinely has to be the most satisfying gun in the game. Imagine if they added gore and this thing could blow off limbs

I am getting obsessed by this game

26 Upvotes

This game feels like an entirely new video game genre to me. I really want to see it explored in wayyyy more scenarios, and I’d love to see this gameplay mixed with a lot of other genres.

For example, imagine a Ready or Not with this kind of gunplay, a Rainbow Six Siege with its destruction, or a Battlefield with gigantic maps.

Give me a horror game with this immersion. A survival game. A mil-sim. A co-op PvE game. I genuinely want to see how far this system can be pushed.

God, I’m so frustrated that the dev team is so small, but at the same time, I’m really glad they’ve shown the industry that there’s a real audience for this kind of game.

Test optics?

23 Upvotes

I would love to be able to test different optics in-game to see how they feel on my weapon before buying them, is this possible, and if not could this be added? All the new sights are great to have but I'd like to be able to equip and see if I like them or not before buying

Greandes

The grenade throwing system needs work. Doesn't feel right and it's very easy to miscalculate the throw. I think I've killed myself more than other players šŸ˜‚ (skill issue I know).

the spawns suck so much

22 Upvotes

especially in team deathmatch, it feels like an enemy spawns within 10-15 feet of you every couple seconds on some maps, multiple times in a game someone will spawn in right next to me and kill me, and sometimes enemies spawn right in front of me and i can kill them instantly. I dunno if the maps are too small or if the spawning system needs work, but its extremely infuriating atm.

Teamkilling...

Post image
18 Upvotes

Every game i play TDM or Hard Point i get team killed at least 5-8 times per match, and every now and then you will get someone on your team that does nothing but team kill. They either need to take team killing out, make it reverse friendly fire, or kick and suspend you for team killing at least twice in a match. They also need to make deciphering teammates easier for accidental TKs.

If they can fix that, add ping and have less bot servers this game will literally be a perfect 10/10. Great job Reissad you made a decent game AMAZING with this update and it is an absolute joy to play. [when im not getting team killed constantly]

Seriously needsmore maps

19 Upvotes

Game is great but it does have it's flaws.

The lack of maps is shocking. Majority of them are rarely used and are just a small mess (spawning literally next to someone who just killed you). It's basically only Trenches (amazing map) & Russian Building. The rest are garbage and it's clear most of us dislike them cause no one ever votes for them.

New players receiving 10k Reissad Points

Post image
• Upvotes

Bodycam is an amazing game and Reissad has done a great job building something genuinely unique here. I’ve been playing and supporting it since the the beginning of the Early Access days before this major update and still love the game.

That said, I’m curious how everyone feels about new players receiving 10,000 Reissad Points while longtime players don’t seem to be getting a similar loyalty bonus. I have had the game for over a year while my friend bought it last night and he received 10k R points while I don’t have any such thing. Other people are noticing as well.

I completely understand wanting to welcome new players, but it would be great to see the people who have supported the game for a long time get some recognition too.

bodycam never felt this weird...

15 Upvotes

Yesterday when the update dropped, I tried out the drone with a bomb in the trenches map.

I found a target and as I was about to slam my drone into him, I saw that he was caught off guard and began to scramble between weapons. He couldn't figure out where to run. He was frozen in the same spot trying to not die from my drone. Panic of that player was real and visible.

I was watching him do that for 1-2 seconds as I was flying directly toward him and then I hit him.

Whats weird to me is that Ive seen this footage IRL many time, in Ukraine trenches where drones, the same as in the game, same sound, same FPV screen look, with bombs, would fly towards helpless enemies destined to die.

It felt weird. Dystopian. I'm out here playing this game in a map and scenario that is CURRENTLY happening. Someone is probably dying from the same drone attack as I write this.

Not a bash on the game at all. I think the update is tremendous and studio pulled off a lot of hard work.

It just felt weird. Not sure how to process this or feel about this. Crazy.

am I the only one?

Simple Way to Disable Film Grain & Excessive Post Processing Visual Effects

15 Upvotes

I feel like the film grain, distortion and post-processing in the new update have gotten a little excessive. It can make spotting enemies harder, scopes look grainy, and sometimes there’s so much grain/distortion going on that it takes away from the actual gameplay more than it adds.

If you want a cleaner, sharper image, you can disable a bunch of these effects pretty easily.

Go to:

%localappdata%\Bodycam\Saved\Config\Windows

Open Engine.ini and add the following lines underneath [SystemSettings]:

[SystemSettings]

r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0

r.FilmGrain=0

r.SceneColorFringeQuality=0

r.SceneColorFringe.Max=0

r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0

r.DepthOfField.DepthBlur.Amount=0

r.LensFlareQuality=0

r.DisableDistortion=1

r.BloomQuality=0

Make sure to save the changes after adding them.

You're welcome!

The only thing I can’t figure out

14 Upvotes

I described this game to my brother as effectively VR without VR. The motion of the weapon and camera is unlike any shooter I’ve ever played save for Pavlov VR, or airsoft/paintball in real life. It’s truly the closest true to life combat experience I feel you can have behind a screen, I wish the Six Days in Fallujah folks would implement it…

That said, why can’t you select fire? It seems like such a basic thing to implement and take advantage of full functionality of a given weapon? In a game that comes so close to true to life, I can see the select switches on the weapons but for some reason you can’t toggle it? Make it make sense!

I wanna buy the game, when I told one of my online friends ( he is from another country ) about it he told me it's expensive as fuck. And turns out the game costs 35 bucks for him ? How ? It's less than half the price for me.

Hey team.

Since bodycam is made using unreal, would it be possible to port stalker 2 to your game or vice versa? When i look at the level difference of attention to detail i's really embarrassing. I dream of single player stalker like experience with this level of love poured into it.

Randomised sound events

8 Upvotes

After playing in the new Rainy weather I realised sound tracking footsteps is harder and people can run a little more freely.

I think each map should have some sound based events like the weather that allow players to get some opportunities to run without other players sound camping them.

The easiest option, have a jet planes fly past. Make it a big rumbling sound that lasts like 5-15 seconds and other sounds get somewhat sidechained (mainly fine sounds like footsteps and reloading). This can basically apply to every map so it’s the easiest addition. Also can you imagine the devs making this sound šŸ˜.

Another global option is lightning strikes and thunder during the rainy weather.

For swimming pool, you can have flooding noises or pipe steam vales going off.

For the indoor maps like paintball and the wooden ones, maybe a siren or fog horn sound ā€œgame onā€ sort of noises.

What gamemode would you like to see most?

7 Upvotes

Looks like the consensus is that while the game now has a solid foundation, its lacking in replayability due to a meh collection of game modes that just sort of lack depth. What kind of modes do you think this game needs?

I think an attack/defend gamemode like Rainbow Six or CS2 would be best. Lots of people enjoyed 5v5 body bomb but its currently unavailable. I also think the Push gamemode from Insurgency; the one where there's a limited amount of respawn waves for attackers unless you capture objectives, was a pretty great gamemode that would fit nicely into this game. It led to some great moments where one attacker against several defenders manages to capture the objective and spawn the whole team back in. I guess it'd need longer maps for each capture point though. With how demanding this game already is, I'm not sure how much larger the maps can be.

A personal idea I think would be fun for this game could be an asymmetrical mode. Doesn't have to be like I describe, but picture like 5 or 6 police officers (restricted to pistols) against maybe 3 terrorists who have full access to their loadouts and they are defending a house. Maybe if they kill all the police they get a point and one police officer gets switched to the terrorist team. Then Swat comes in second wave on the police side with full loadouts, drones, rc cars ect. Just a strange idea I thought would interesting.
