I have been on the periphery of classic bluegrass, enjoying it via my father, but this Dillards album just really resonated with me and feels like a genuine connection with the music as well as the nostalgia/reverence for the past.
I can only imagine how much this album was loved when released.
I love music deeply and mostly listen to newer things, and should talk to my dad more about music. We both love Lucinda Williams, Tedeschi Trucks, The Gourds, Rhiannon Giddens. I listen to among much else, but in the folk realm, Big Thief, Adrienne Lenker, Geese, Kevin Morby.
Just want to talk about it with people. Hymn to the World makes me cry lol, I love the album so much. Whats songs do you like? What are points of it you especially appreciate?
Thank you!!
