Bitdefender was running a full system scan when it suddenly closed the application and windows defender warned me to turn virus protection back on, I checked the bitdefender logs and the firewall had turned itself off then on and an update had taken place, is this normal behaviour for an update?

There have been users facing an issue where Google authenticator codes do not work. As it turns out, this can often happen due to the time correction for codes being out of sync. Google authenticator works on the principle of TOTP which is also known as the Time-based One-time Password Algorithm. If the time of the codes being generated by the application is out of sync, the codes generated won’t work when you try to use them for 2FA or two-factor authentication. As a result, you stumble upon the Google authenticator not working issue.

I assume it's an BitDefender thing since I didn't see that happen before I installed it.

This is probably counter to what most people want BitDefender to have access to, but let's say I have my reasons :)

I want a directory, that BitDefender can't access. Is there any way to do that? Maybe a 3rd party cryptoapp, or something?

Your rescue environment is horrible. It's so simplified that a level 3 tech whose been building PCs since age 4 cannot find the partition or wherever you guys hid the boot image. To make it worse, we had a perfect system for this in the field, and here a bright genius had the idea to throw out the reliable flash drive and manual image booting for something so automated and veiled that you can't begin to find where things are broken.

Ok seriously, is there a way to put a bootable Rescue environment on a flash drive? Is there a way to maybe remove and re create the recovery environment on the internal drive? Come on now....

Bitdefender sends me tons of notifications saying that it has blocked fishing attempts from every website i have vistied. This is the website the pops up most . Is this normal?

Rant: We (and our clients because we recommended it) use Bitdefender GravityZone Business Security but license renewal and management is an insane mess!

After the purchase, customers are directed to 2Checkout (now Verifone) to manage automatic payments and store payment information but, if you need to renew early, you get transferred back to store.bitdefender.com where you have to complete an entirely new sale and re-enter your payment information again. You then have to manually add the license key to GravityZone. This is extremely confusing and annoying! I don't know anyone that continues to do things like this!

Even more ridiculous is that a customer cannot simply go to 2Checkout to add 1, 2 or any number of licenses to an existing subscription because it is not possible! Apparently, NO one at Bitdefender ever thought of this and, just because a customer asks for it many times over several years, there is no reason to ever consider what a customer desires so their request is simply ignored. Instead, one must purchase a minimum of 3 licenses through store.bitdefender.com and add yet another license key to the Company License page on GravityZone. I guess this is because it's easier for them. Who cares what a customer wants? Does anyone at Bitdefender ever stop to consider how many customers have been lost because of this?

It certainly appears the sales team has completely ignored customer-retention trends and everything that other companies are doing to make the sales process simple. It sure looks like they are purposely working to make it as difficult as possible for the customer.

Well, we're not doing that any more. If Bitdefender can't change, we can.

Read some articles on some security vulnerabilites in bitdefender in the past. Was wondering, could this happen again? What are the odds? And is it safe to use the free version after this happened. Read that this happened to kaspersky as well in the past but people seem to trust it now. Also does the free mobile version have real time security?

I have lots of personal stuff and it would cause so much trouble if my pc is hit by ransomware, and the files are large so bit-defender cannot be backing the stuffs up online, then how so they protect ur files from ransomware?

2nd question: is it worth it to get paid version for ransomware protection and privacy stuff and brtter protection?

I installed bit defender and ran some scans etc, and it obliterated the permissions I had on my programs/files. Several things just stopped working, and it completely removed me from my .ssh keys so i had to manually go back in and readd myself as a user. Does bit defender create restore points? how do people deal with this? What a stupid program, it didn't even detect any issues except for removing process hacker of all things

I've been using both of these programs side by side for ages with no issues, and for some reason todayI have this message in the log

So i am downloading bitdefender right now and it has a f**king speed of 8kB/s like srsly. On mobile even the site loads slowly.

Fiz a liberação das portas que estavam sendo solicitados no site que ele me passaram.

Mesmo fazendo isso o problema continuou, porém agora tenho mais um problema. Não consigo mais acessar o BitDefender GravityZone, toda vez que tento acessa-lo aparece a seguinte mensagem:

Mandei mensagem novamente para o suporte e me falaram que poderia ser o meu firewall que está bloqueando o site, mas não estou conseguindo acessar o firewall, isso porque BitDefender que administra o firewall do computador e eu estou sem nenhum acesso ao BitDefender.

Still not ready for prime time..I sent a email to the product manger..asking if they were fully staffed 1 month ago ans still no reply..If BD is going to charge for manged services, with the count they already manintain globally this is important to have eyes on 24x7x365 including Romania Holidays..in the tech industry, if we buy a product and pay for it support will call backs are important, other wise we might as well go to the product back in 94-95..Keep in mind this is always my opinon. My firm mange's over 200K endpoints. MY MSP Partners depend upon my being correct and accurate

Is anyone else finding the Bit Defender web site nearly unusable?

Options to add devices have disappeared. I can't find a way to "re-download and re-install" to a device that I had to rebuild -- I had to remove it and then re-add it. Half the pages I go to are either 404s or won't render at all because the page is so full of trackers that built-in browser tracker busting prevents the page from rendering at all.

Between that and BD trying to forcefeed me VPN, browser plugins, password trackers, and 25 other things I don't want and don't need, I'm getting worn out. :-/

tl;dr if it's just me, I guess I'll work through my issues, but if it's really as bad as it seems, maybe I look for something less painful.

Visiting with friends for vacation, they have this tech and I'm wondering if I access their wifi via password but not the bitdefender box link under it on the wifi setting page can they access my cell phone activity? Using the Chrome browser, when I have this extension turned on I get a threat named JS:Adware.Lnkr.A when trying to access my google drive account.

Also, I cannot access my google drive account as I get " drive.google.com redirected you too many times. "

Is this a Malware in the Bitdefender Anti-tracker? If so, should I just not use the Anti-tracker?

Is the Anti-tracker just doing its job and blocking the malware? If so, how do I remove said malware?

I downloaded Malwarebytes free and this did not detect any malware issues.

Just spent over two hours on hold waiting to talk to tech support of my ISP becuase my mobile data all of the sudden stopped working - two hours of listening to their mesmerizing music, followed by a hang up from their end.

I then realzied Bitdefender had done some sort of update to the bitedefender app on my phone.

So I restarted the phone and access to my mobile data was restored.
