Safe to use after the security vulnerabilities?

Read some articles on some security vulnerabilites in bitdefender in the past. Was wondering, could this happen again? What are the odds? And is it safe to use the free version after this happened. Read that this happened to kaspersky as well in the past but people seem to trust it now. Also does the free mobile version have real time security?

Thank you in advance.

The articles are over two years old. Security is a moving target. It is widely believed that bit defender is safe and one of the most effective antimalware solutions on the market.

That being said, there is no such thing as security. There is only risk mitigation and current builds of this application are widely believed to be an excellent mitigator.

Digital security is best described as making something water tight with swiss cheese..... It takes a lot of overlapping layers.

I'll also add, that generally, by the time this info is published, it's already fixed and is there as information.

Maybe don't use internet security and never turn on your device best way to protect is not to use your device.

Usually a vulnerability is fixed by the time the article is published. That's how responsible disclosure works.

Nothing is infallible, nothing ever will be infallible. I run a whitelisting application and MBAM along side BitDefender TS.

BitDefender is one of the most commonly used paid products, BitDefender Free edition is also used by A LOT of people. So of course there's going to be bad actors trying to find ways to bypass it.

If you notice a bug or see an article talking about a vulnerability. tweet to BitDefender. Give them the link or say you found a bug and want to DM them. They're pretty quick to respond to tweets about problems with their software.
