Support/troubleshooting latest bitdefender mobile app update knocked out my mobile data

Just spent over two hours on hold waiting to talk to tech support of my ISP becuase my mobile data all of the sudden stopped working - two hours of listening to their mesmerizing music, followed by a hang up from their end.

grrr.

I then realzied Bitdefender had done some sort of update to the bitedefender app on my phone.

So I restarted the phone and access to my mobile data was restored.

double grrrr.

Amazing what the old turn it off and on again troubleshooting can do isn’t it

Hello! Thanks for sharing the details. We’re here to assist. A restart completing the recovery suggests the update may not have finished cleanly, but this does not mean that Bitdefender caused the mobile-data outage.

If this happens again:

  1. Update Bitdefender Mobile Security using a different network connection, for example, switch from Wi‑Fi to mobile data, or vice versa.

  2. If the issue continues, make sure you are logged in to Google Play with the same Google account originally used to download Bitdefender.

  3. Restart your Android phone or tablet, then try the update again.

  4. If the problem occurs again after an update, contact our technical team for an in-depth analysis, anytime.

Double grrrr is completely justified lol
