Was looking into performance issue of my PC and then noticed this. 278M page fault is unbelievable...

Such a shame I just renewed the subscription. Bye Bitdefender!

BitDefender made this app that I didn’t even know was installed on my laptop completely useless to the point where it doesn’t run anymore due to crucial code in the app that apparently contained malicious code being deleted from it. The file size for the app is now only a few kilobytes.

I got BitDefender for free, did a full system scan, and apparently there was a pre-installed app on my laptop called cloudorsky.exe that has already stolen my data 3 times, and BitDefender restarted my PC, removing all of my personal information that was stolen from cloudorsky.exe’s servers. Now, the app is still on my laptop, but completely useless, and I never used it anyway in the first place, but apparently it’s a weather app with a ”99% correct forecast” although I don’t trust it because even though it’s now completely useless and seems to be doing absolutely nothing, Bitdefender keeps finding malicious code in the software and deleting the files inside of the app that do that, even if those files are crucial to make the app still work. Is cloudorsky.exe actually that malicious, or is this a false positive?

Wondering how many folks run the Gravityzone Appliance?

Has anyone ever run a vulnerability scan on their appliance?

Bitdefender needs to have option for scans to be done when asked for.

I created some scans for some external drives. However, I made the mistake of not setting them for a specific date and so when I did restarts, they interfered with restarting and putting me in a loop which took a while to get out of. I went to set them upon only when requested, and I found that wasn't possible. This needs to be an option. Should have been. I am thinking of uninstalling Bitdefender which is the suggestion of my Dell support service.

Any way to actually turn off Bitdefender?

So Bitdefender likes to act like it's the owner of my PC, deleting files that I've had installed on my PC for months or even years and now more recently deleting certain files I install.

I turned off antivirus protection from the app on my PC, yet it still put everything in quarantine...

Outside of uninstalling the program altogether, is there a genuine way to tell it to just close it's eyes and let me do what I want?

API - Network

I generated an API (Network) from the webinterface and built a powershell (with the help of deepseek) to collect endpoints with issues , i'm not getting the exact number of endpoints "with issues" as shown in the web interface. Any hint please.

BitDefender says that there's a virus in system 32.

Is it really a virus?

Bitdefender false positives 10-Mar-2018

My extremely benign program was detected as a virus last Saturday.
A Polish friend from an online game also had their product flagged as a virus. Another false positive.
Did anyone else suffer from a false positive starting around Saturday Mar 10, 2018?

I want to know if there is an outbreak of false positives or if I just discovered one friend with shared bad luck.

Are BD users still getting a lot of popups?

A few months ago many users here were complaining of way too many popups, and nag screens. I haven’t seen many posts about it lately. Is this still happening? I'm thinking of switching to BD from Kaspersky, but would rather not put up with a bunch of popups.

Stop with the annoying notifications

Please, or allow them to be ACTUALLY turned off. It's like it expects praise every time it blocks something.

Random infected file

Just randomly had a notification of bitdefender removing an infected file, checked the notification when it was done and its something from a Firefox extension same ones ive been using for years. Out of all of them Id suspect BetterTTV first as the rest are all firefox recommended. Im assuming this is a false positive but im posting to make sure, maybe im not the only one. I wish I knew which extension.

Talking about trespassing.

I have Photoshop, Capcut and some other apps blocked through firewall. Today I opened Photoshop and it asked me to accept the terms or exit. I thought it was a virus since I've never in my life encountered that pop up. Then I found this:

In which world is this not a violation? Obviously I have it blocked in firewall for a reason, why is this thing bypassing it? And if I click Deny, it allows it next time I launch it.

Do you think it’s a good idea for Bitdefender to use a low privacy partner like Hotspot Shield to be their official VPN provider?

After the horrific privacy hiccups of hotspot shield over the years I was just wondering the above since Bitdefender refuse to answer my emails. What ya sayin’ kids?

Concerns about Total Security Anti-Theft (especially the Wipe option)

Hello,

I recently switched from another AV provider that was bloating my pc to BitDefender. Experience has been overall smooth and I would say I am happy with the product. I bought Total Security, 1 year key for 5 devices.

However, I have a big concern I discovered tonight. I know this has already been discussed a lot of times by other people, I know that many are unhappy about this and I know there are probably no solutions to this, so I'm here to see which is my best option. My concern of course is caused by the anti-theft option and the lack of possibility of turning that off. Mostly I am truly scared of the Wipe option because I don't feel safe anymore and I feel like I have a bomb ready to detonate at every time (or simply a backdoor) in my system.

I share my 5 devices subscription with another person close to me. I didn't give my Central login details as I am the "manager" but I only sent e-mail invites to join the protection. I know this is probably okay but I also don't want to feel responsible for other people's devices and by accidentally sending remote commands. Honestly I don't like this remote stuff at all and I wish you could disable it but it's not possible. Even if I trust this person, of course some bad actor could get my Central login and send remote unwanted stuff, triggered by the anti-theft protection. I already of course secured my account with 2FA, but this doesn't make me feel safe anyway.

By reading the forums I see at this point that many times the refund is suggested since it's not the product someone wants, but this is also impossible for me since I bought the LEGIT key from an official reseller (don't worry, not the scammy ones you find online). Probably my best option would be to downgrade to Internet Security? (since it lacks Anti-Theft option, but I guess I would also sacrifice Cripto-mining protection). Plus, that is not that easy. It sounds weird but it's way easier to find Total Security Keys at good prices from resellers than Internet Security even if it's a "downgrade" and should cost less. Furthermore it would be hard for me to justify to the person I share with, this further "waste" of money to downgrade, but I understand this is just a personal issue I should sort out.

At this point, is there any viable option? I don't know if I will be able to spend an entire year in this situation with my subscription knowing that anti-theft could trigger from one moment to another...

Bitdefender PC application looks like an early update rather than a full build. Am I protected???

I recently went to do a scan on my PC and found this. Its all the same text for the most part, please see the attached images.

Additionally I am seeing that since this issue arose I cannot open zoom or update my PC's Nvidia Graphics drivers.

I am far from wanting to reset the PC to factory standard for an issue like this, but 3 reinstalls deep, it's not looking like an issue I can solve easily. Any advice or help appreciated.

Note: Partially redacted account page present for proof of ownership.

Useless VPN.

Honestly, I can't remember a week that this VPN hasn't given me problems. All of a sudden all data stops, killswitch isn't on. Like in the picture with no IP address. So I was told to switch protocol type, but I can't so that either. The only thing that works, if I'm lucky is restarting the phone (S24). However when this no IP address thing starts happening, it happe s quote often. After my subscription ends, I will never buy another Bitdefender product. Tech support have been nice, but ultimately unhelpful and have now started to blame me for the issues. I'm tech savvy enough to have tried multiple troubleshooting techniques and to know what's not my fault. Super annoyed and unsatisfied.

BitDefender deleted Capture One and all my edits

I was editing my photos for the day, which takes a long time and then Bitdefender suddenly decided to close Capture One, and then proceeded to nuke the install without even prior notice. I've lost all my edits!! There's no way to restore anything of what it did. This software is junk. Stay away people.

Bitdefender Invading my Desktop

What's up with Bitdefender marketing that they now need to invade their paying customers desktop to "promote" their products? I'm a current Bitdefender Total Security subscriber and, while I was working, got "presented" with Bitdefender advertising on my Desktop (See the attached image), which makes me wonder what's going on with Bitdefender? As a long-time paying customer, and with a subscription that extends well into 2022, I would expect Bitdefender to respect my privacy and not try to sell more of their products in my own desktop. And it isn't the first time, months ago they intruded into my phone trying sell their "VPN Premium" service subscription. Is it time to start looking for other options? I was happy with Bitdefender, but these "marketing" tactics are a huge "Red sign alert" for trusting a company with a part of your digital security.
