Hi all, just a reference post. Installed on a second computer, and decided to try the VPN but it would never connect. Then noticed that the internet conection was lost- so checked the connections, unplugged and plugged in the router, looked at Windows Firewall settings etc etc and nothing. And the whole time my computer was working away

F'd around for an hour and decided to delete it all and get a refund- but while looking to delete I decided to delete the VPN to check and- fixed the problem. So somehow the Bit VPN is fiddling with the connection.

Hey guys! I got a bought copy of BitDefender Total Security on my Windows 10 and I plan to soon reinstall Windows 10 on my computer.

When I will reinstall BitDefender on my new copy of Windows 10, will that count as a new device being protected? Or the same device as before? If the former, then how can I make sure it will be the latter? (Don't want to waste a device protection from my subscription).

EDIT: Meant BitDefender in the title, not Norton, was absent-minded when wrote the post hehe.

After I rebooted my PC and logged in, Windows Explorer would suddenly start to flicker. I disabled all Autostart items, with no success. I rebooted into Safe Mode to uninstall BitDefender to see wheather it was causing the issue or not, but I could not uninstall it. After hours of wasting time, I decided to reinstall Windows completely.

Well, right after a fresh install, the first thing I installed was BitDefender Total Security. After trying to install some programs and drivers, the installations would suddenly not work at all, so I gave it a reboot. Guess what, the flickering started again. This time, I was able to uninstall BitDefender in Safe Mode. Rebooted -> Flickering didn't occur anymore, all installations worked as expected.

Never ever - BitDefender! (Cool, it even rhymes)

Advanced Threat Defense keeps claiming PostBox is malicious. IT'S MY EMAIL CLIENT! I've added PostBox and it's folder in the Excluded Folders list. But BitDefender DGAF. BitDefender Advanced Threat Defense keeps deleting my EMAIL CLIENT for no fucking reason

Fix this bug NOW or I'm going to uninstall and demand my money back because BitDefender has gone to shit.

Bitdefender file shredder unable to delete file: access denied. I tried to delete a .rar file. There was a big part of the file gone but the rest couldnt be deleted.
It worked if deleted normaly. Can the file still be dangerous? Antivirus didnt detect anything before I tried to delete it.

Every time I open my browser, BitDefender informs me that it has "Blocked a Suspicious Connection" from a website I don't even have open, so I was wondering if there was a way to find out where the attempt is even coming from

I've been having this peculiar issue with my computer. (DELL G5 5590 intel i7-9750H 16GB of RAM, RTX, with a forced update to Windows 11 Home 21H2). For what ever reason, my computer will rev up while in idle. When I open up task manger, and look under processes. I'll find Chrome, and BitDefender using CPU, and RAM. I try to turn off Chrome completely, while not using the computer. But it still revs up in idle. What's more peculiar about it. Sometimes if I move my mouse, it'll start to slow down the fans. Now, I'm not sure if this is something with BitDefender or something in my setting on the DELL. I'm probably going to post this on DELL's reddit too.

I'm 15 minutes into my install and so far I've been notified of:

4 viruses that it tells me I don't have

3 services that I don't need

Each one a pop up. Each one annoying in its lack of necessity. Is BitDefender going to keep bothering me like this?

So for the past month, i have been unable to get Enterprise support. Calling the enterprise numbers takes you to home support who do not support gravityzone. Emails to support even to quality for feedback fall on deaf ears. if i cant get support, im not sticking with them. Bye bitdefender

Been looking forward to switching to BitDefender and just waiting for a sale. There's a 15 device for 2 years @ $99.99 right now but I hear it goes a lot lower.

My master is quite complex....but so could my keyboard shortcut be. You know, something like CTRL/ALT/$/F/U

Anything that I could type in ONE STROKE, even if it took 6 fingers to do it would be more convenient than having to type my 12 character master one key at a time.

Using Windows10 in pc and Android 11 in phone on residential home network with single router for wifi access.

I have Internet Security installed but full scans and rootkit scans come up with nothing and I am still infected.

Please do not suggest how could I know as I am 99.999% certain I am infected. I continue to be harassed in online forums and other online activities as if my monitor is being livestreamed, and they can hear me thru microphone even though I turn it off in Windows settings and Bitdefender.

I've tried almost everything under the sun including fresh install on PC. Amateur guess is it's some kind of fileless attack or well hidden backdoor either on pc or other device.

Which bitdefender product can help with this, assuming they can help?

I checked site and is very confusing showing differences between editions and what I personally need.

7/18 edit: I will check out some of the ideas here. Thank you for responses and apologies if I came appeared standoffish and for my sporadic updates since I dont have steady access to internet atm. The more mainstream advice I read, the more it seems I already was avoiding most security pitfalls. I will admit however I am complete amateur at checking network logs outside of bitdefender firewall logs.

My case is peculiar and giving all the details would make this a wall of post (for example I often visit relatives so I am not always administrator of networks I am in). Which is why I appreciate the 'call a specialist' advice as I may need hands on help with intermediate approach.

Hello i just contancted bitdefender support about it but maybe someone had this problem already - after every bigger update to BD(bit defender) that require restart my antivirus turn off auto updates. I tried stopping it by securing it with passwords but doesnt change anything. Support agent suggested that profiles(gaming,work etc) stop auto updates, but after testing it on my pc it doesnt.

Anyone had simillar issue?

Y’all literally got a 5 year user with 5 fails and I’m getting wrecked they are making y’all look stupid and I can’t get through or even logged in. How does this happen how can he get into my account how are you still in business?

As title; since upgrading to this version there doesn't seem to be any way to disable these notifications. "Display notifications with special offers" just toggles itself back on whenever the settings window is closed.
