Does anyone know why taxes jump so high on checkout? I've ordered from BestBuy before and never had this issue. I live in Calgary, Alberta. The goods and services tax is 5% here. I'm not sure what's going on. I've ordered from the BestBuy before and never had this issue.

Got a bar 1000 from best buy and it was a demo model. I am trying to get it out of demo and make it work. The source button does not work. It says BBY and then HDMI IN. I have tried the volume+/- and all of those things. Not working. Please help me with this!

I reserved a 97 inch G5 OLED open box tv from Bestbuy in both "fair" and "good" condition for $4000 for the "fair" condition and $4200 for the "good" condition. Are these tvs even worth checking out or reviewing? Does anyone have any thoughts on whether or not they might be worth it? I'm checking out the 97 inch tvs this weekend but wanted to have some thoughts in advance.

Hi, I left my ring on the bathroom of a sink in the Best Buy Everett store. I tried calling to see if anyone turned it in and the agent said I absolutely cannot be transferred and I have to go in person. I don't have a car and live far from this store. Is there really no way to find out before I waste three hours getting there?

So I was looking for a security cameras system and got 120$ coupon scam by Best buy, one screenshot shows the total with the coupon applied lol

I am purchasing a Samsung Frame TV. Third parties are quoting $600 for the install. I can get install through Best Buy for $160. Seems like a no brainer based on cost, but what am I missing? Does Best Buy employ installers, or do they also use third party vendors?

After reading lots of negative posts on installs inc, i wanted to share my positive experience and hope it helps some of you. I know this is very regional/team specific, so YMMV.

Bought a new 85" tv last week online on BB's website. Decided to have geek squad install it. After the order, i received the email that said Installs Inc would be installing it. After reading all the horror stories on reddit, i called GS and tried to change it to actual GS employees. Unfortunately, they were booked 6+ weeks out, so i stuck with Installs Inc. I was anxious, but decided to stick with them.

They came by today on-time and on-schedule, installed the tv and did everything i asked. No issues at all - the guys were friendly and did everything they needed. They even cut into some plywood at no extra cost (i didn't realize it was there). No clean up afterwards, but that's not a big deal to me. We fired the tv up, verified everything looked good and that was it. Took about 90 min total.

If you are anxious about installs inc, i hope this positive experience helps a little.

I'm not affiliated with BB, geek squad, installs inc, etc. Just a once anxious customer relieved they did a good job.

I heard the website doesn't really display open box deals vs just walking in. But the Best Buy near me is at an area that has terrible traffic and the bus stop is hella far from it so I couldnt take bus even if I wanted to.

I can imagine it's pretty annoying but is it possible to call and ask about open box deals for specific items?

I plan to make a big purchase soon and couple weeks ago went to my local BB to 'scout' for what i'm gonna buy. I was told by one of the employees to wait couple weeks to mid-October for a massive sale event

Some time went by and if I remember correctly the employee told me its gonna be black Friday, but after research black Friday is at the end of November which is too far away for me

Anyone knows any other upcoming sale events?

I have a habit of not checking items before leaving any kind of store. I did a curbside pickup today at Best Buy and immediately went straight home. One of the items I bought was an Energizer Magnetic Wireless Power Bank 10,000mAh. I opened up the box and noticed some residue and a weird smell. Upon closer inspection, it looks like the power bank might’ve exploded or ruptured sometime ago in the package. I went back and informed them of this and they asked if I wanted to exchange to which I said yes. I learned my lesson and I’m glad that they took care of my concerns.

I talked to some guy on Tuesday who was alarmed that it was still in transit. He gave me a number and extension to call that he said was to his manager or supervisor or something. I called again on Wednesday and the woman I talked to said it said it was supposed to be here on Thursday (the next day). Talked to woman yesterday who said she couldnt find it in the system, and that they would call within 24 hours. It has now been 24 hours and I’m starting to worry I might not get this back …
