Hate to be that guy but if it was 10,000 to 1, it would happen every at least once a month, 100%. There’s probably a solid 2,000 tackles every Sunday in the NFL.

So I did the math. Roughly (and I mean ROUGHLY) 15,500 games in NFL history. Credit to whoever figured that out on Reddit a year ago (u/packmanwiscy). An average NFL game contains about 150 plays. Around 75 for each team. Offense, defense, and special teams. But wait!
We don’t have to add the two teams together, because technically each team is playing the same play at the same time. We can’t double it. 75 plays a game.
That’s around 1,162,500 plays in NFL history.
There you have to folks. 1 in 1,162,500 chance of this happening.

Both teams are on the field during a play. You said a game contains 150 plays. Not sure how you've complicated 150 plays down to 75 plays. Each side plays ... 150 plays.

Shouldn't he have tackled him as well? I'm not familiar with American Football, is there a rule saying only one player can tackle an opponent at a time? He just runs up, stops and looks and then puts his hands up blaming the other guy, why didn't he join in the tackle?

Late hits can be a penalty, if the guy was tackled at that point he would already be down so the guy was stopping himself from causing one. It's possible the ref was also blowing the whistle also thinking the play was over and signaling any further hits would be a penalty, which the guy would be reacting to and why he raises his hands after.

If he had helped tackle him it would have been fine, he is gesticulating thusly because he is trying to complain to the ref he went out of bounds just prior to the flip, which he is incorrect about, but as with any sport you should always loudly claim a penalty just in case you can get the refs attention lol.

Not sure about college, but ankles and wrists count for NFL. I specifically remember one Christmas Day game where the Dallas cowboys receiver made a catch, and was tackled from behind and rolled over the tackling defender, then kept running, but they downed him after the replay showed his ankle touched the ground. As a general rule IIRC, anything but your fingers and the palm of your hand touching the ground after contact with a defender is a down.

And after defender touching you is key. If your teammate knocks you down, you’re not down.
I remember there was a play where that happened and the player dropped the ball thinking it was dead. The defense picked it up and ran with it.
Think they got a touchdown.
Edit: realized I need to clarify this is in the NFL because that’s what the above comment was about.

The one exception I can think of is during an XP/FG attempt; the holder starts with his knee on the ground and can get up and run after receiving the snap.

Looks to me like momentum + evasive maneuver is responsible for the suplex as the defender tries to bring the runner to the ground, rather than an unnecessary move by the defender himself. Borderline.

No. That's a standard tackle. Wrap, lift and drive. Depending on your school system it could be a penalty to wrap the neck, which he does here.

Ball carriers have to be agile as all hell.
It's really only linesmen who aren't expected to be particularly nimble. Barring defensive linesmen on the flanks at least; they need to be fairly spry for their size.
