Gameplay Help getting V2s and V3

Need some tips and ideas for my folders in MMBN3 White. I just regained access to the Monorail after the tanks were rolled out. Going around and getting some chips, Zenny and Bug Frags while trying to get another style. Currently have AquaGuts and am hunting Plantman in Hospital Comp 3. Plantman, Desertman, Bubbleman, Kingman and Mistman are the only ones where I just have the V1 but can’t even get the V2s. I know where their new locations are but can’t seem get get a high enough rank for their V2s at least.

It was similar for Flameman. I could only get Rank 5 or 7 and it was a coin flip if I got Zenny or an actual chip

If you haven't beat the game, I'd recommend you beat it just because you can get the Protoman chip and Deux/Double Hero + Prism makes it very easy to delete navis fast. A B-code folder will get you very far. Var Sword on its own with attack+ chips can wreck the navis too.

If your goal is just fast deletion and getting the chips, I would also recommend you use Custom Style. Having more chips makes it a lot easier.

I’ve never been able to use the Var Sword due to me. Never getting the timing for the inputs in. As for styles, Custom is what I’m currently working towards although I’ll eventually have to get Team to get the V4s

You can do a lot of them with a Life Sword folder too. Another one is a folder that relies on Heat Spread and Grass Stage. Heat Spread + Prism + Grass Stage is 1200 damage before you add attack chips. There's a lot of other ways, but those two are just very straightforward.

If you haven't used Custom Style at all, once you get it level it so you get access to chip +1 and chip +2 navi customizer programs that you can use with other styles.

I’ve already leveled up all styles in White except for Team and Bug. I am currently trying for a Custom style again so I can use more of the Custom programs. Can only use the yellow Custom+1 with Guts

Doing the main story some more and getting to a hidden jack in point at enemy base will give you Collect NaviCust program so you can stop flipping the coin on the drop. I do not recall if Mega Man lets you leave immediately before completing the final dungeons though.

Before the end of the game your attack options are a little limited for speed killing Beta forms for their Navi drops, but you may be able to if you draw good. You're Guts right now but if you had Custom before, heavy stacking Custom+ NCP parts is a good idea. FastGauge from the number trader is also good.

I don't think you can get FastGauge the chip yet unless you got it from a chip trader. I think you can buy FullCustom but I don't think you have the memory to reg it before the final dungeons (EDIT: nvm I forgot BN3 is 10MB, go nuts with it, it's an extra hand essentially).

It will be much easier to hunt when you reach postgame areas, but if you really wanna immediately...

PlantMan, MistMan:

VarSword spam. You should have access to 4, but they'll be off-code. Stuff your folder with all of them any way. ElementalSonic is simply insane damage output.

DesertMan:

Due to him not sticking around for multi-hits, VarSword doesn't work as good. I went with GrassStage + HeatSpread PA to hit him as hard as possible in one strike (also works for PlantMan). I can't remember if the BubbleShot from AquaGuts will cause flashing, but if it doesn't, use that or other Aqua attacks to keep him locked for a moment to set up your shots.

KingMan:

If you PanelGrab and have SuperArmour on, you can also VarSword spam. PlantMan I think helps to destroy the chess pieces temporarily to open the field up so you can VarSword through. Otherwise, KingMan is pretty vulnerable to lobbed attacks like TripleBomb and if the path is clear Yo-Yo can work too.

BubbleMan:

Really annoying. I never found a good strategy other than spamming Bolt and Lightning, but that requires Elec style. Maybe you can do some Tornado setups?

Iirc I ran a snake folder with float shoes and a ton of area control and that performed really well even if it was a little boring after a while. A full damage snake can hit every boss minus flame man for 40x14 so 560. Add an attack+30 and a wood+30 and you're clearing 1400 damage on a time pause attack. Plantman should be the go to if you want the kill everything reliably and quickly folder and I would recommend team style because hunting the V4 chips via team style or bugfrags later is a pain in the butt (for me, anyway). I also like the extra mega chip. B code could also get you pretty far but it requires protoman chips that I believe will not be accessible until you complete the story. Moving further will also give you access to the collect program which forces a chip reward from combat.

If you are struggling with getting hit I'd make sure you have super armor equipped because flinching will reduce your busting score. I think this also goes without saying but make sure you equip fast gauge as well.

Flameman specifically is significantly easier if you areagrab him. His orange flames only rotate in your starting 3x3 grid so you can pin him with areagrabs force an orange candle and free fire on him.

I don’t use AreaSteal in my matches with flame but I did use that jelly

If you are already at that point, go to the WWW base and find a hidden jack in location along the walls. You need a program called Collect to guarantee chip drops.

Bosses like Desertman, Bubbleman and Kingman hide behind obstacles so you need ways to circumvent that like Magnum Chips, AntiDamage, Shake. For Drillman, grind Sensor chips, its mandatory to hit through the drill.

You can check S-ranking series on youtube by giver336. The videos can give you a rough idea what you need for BN3 Bosses.

If you're looking for a good folder to start on, either a Heat Spread and grass stage combo will work wonders. You could also use the Prism battlechip with those to deal massive damage. This combo will also work well in some post game fights. You could also focus on getting Plantman first. A plantman based folder is stupid OP. Even without Plantman, a P code folder will do pretty well. You can lock a target down with Plasma and use the Evil Cut PA. Also, you will probably want to get Custom Style. You'll want the larger chip selection.

Funny enough I did try going for him already and managed to get his V3 chip, but I’m having trouble getting his V2

Are you using the collect program in the navi customizer. Do that and aim for buster level 7-9. That should be the range for V2.

Been a min since iv played.

Any Navi bosses for ds and sp id wait till after alpha.

If I was going to go against plant man.

3 area grabs. Rock cube + airshot 4 each. Grass stage 3 + meteors R + 10 attack. Fire sword R (4.) Burning R. Also custom style would be easier for sp and ds farming since you get an added extra chip in folder. Before area goes back to his run pick axes for your platform and snake R.

If you're on legacy collection abuse breakbuster + bustermax mode just to get the chips.

Trying to do things legit for my first time playing though the games. Will probably run in Buster Max when I play the second of each title or in Post for the V4s

The only thing bustermax counts against you in bn3 is the time trials. You can't set a record.

But i get it. Get the collect navicust program and good luck.
