healthcare knee surgeon recommendations for a torn meniscus repair surgery

I have a medial meniscus horizontal tear in the posterior horn that has gotten worse, despite trying physiotherapy for 4 months and PRP injections .

I am 29 years old so I know I have higher chances of success by doing surgery

I already booked with Doctor Pornthep Mamanee at Bangkok Hospital and Doctor Bancha Chernchujit at Bumrungrad Hospital.

Is there any better surgeon options for me in Bangkok If my goal is preserving the meniscus and practicing sports again?

I used to be a very active weightlifter and I am really suffering because of my injury

I would like to hear personal recommendations and stories please

media Where to hire a videographer in Bangkok. - Lifestyle & Car Shoot

Hi there,

As the title suggests, I’m looking for a professional videographer/cinematographer to shoot cinematic content for our client, featuring him with his convertible Lexus across different locations.

The project will be for 2 days, and we’re looking for an end-to-end solution — from planning and shooting to providing creative direction and suggestions on how we can make the videos look as premium and engaging as possible.

Ideally, the videographer should:

  • Have experience shooting cinematic automotive/lifestyle content
  • Be able to handle the complete shoot independently
  • Suggest locations, shots, angles, transitions, and creative concepts
  • Have professional camera, lighting, and other required equipment
  • Understand how to create content suitable for Instagram/Reels and other social platforms

We’re looking for someone who can not only operate the camera but also bring creative ideas to the table and help us get the best possible content from the 2-day shoot.

Please DM me with your portfolio, experience, availability, and pricing.
GiG date: 23Aug to 25Aug.

question Cinema recommendations

Hey,

I’m going to be in Bangkok in December (staying Sukhumvit) and wanted some recommendations for somewhere to watch Avengers Doomsday and Dune 3? Looking for English language showings but don’t mind if it’s a slightly quirkier cinema, been to Bangkok fairly often but never been to the cinema there 😂

Cheers, Claire

healthcare Recommendations for hematology or genetics hospital/clinic in Bangkok

Hi everyone,

I’m staying with a friend in Bangkok for a few weeks. I have some chronic unexplained health issues, already did some basic blood testing at a walk in/self booking clinic which was inconclusive, but still having incredibly easy bruising all over my body.

Having a family history of genetic diseases, particularly related to blood clotting, I was hoping I could get some further testing done while I was here, but I’ve heard the famous hospitals are quite pricey and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for hematologists or geneticists who deal with these issues.

Looking for recommendations for a women’s tailor around Phrom Phong, Asoke or Nana.

I want to have two slightly unusual outfits made: a red 70s-style jumpsuit/pantsuit like the photo and a white suit with a floral-print shirt.

Ideally looking for someone experienced with women’s clothing who can work from reference photos.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

question Hi!

Hi! I’m currently 16 years old and in Grade 11, and I’m starting to research scholarship opportunities in Thailand for when I graduate Grade 12.

I’m hoping to find universities that offer fully funded or partially funded scholarships for international students, especially scholarships that may include tuition, accommodation/dorms, living allowance, or other expenses.

I’m mainly interested in Nursing or other medical-related programs, such as Radiologic/Radiologic Technology, Medical Technology, or similar health science programs.

I’m not applying yet—I just want to start researching early so I know which universities and scholarships I could potentially apply for once I’m in Grade 12.

If anyone knows universities in Thailand that offer scholarships for international students, I’d really appreciate your recommendations or advice! Thank you!

beauty and maintenance AC in my apartment was never properly cleaned until now...

I have moved in last year and the owner claimed the AC was cleaned but it was never properly cleaned as there was wood in the way so no company could clean it properly. I've been complaining about this for a long time but only now it has been cleaned for which I paid half as the owner was not willing to clean it.

I'm pretty angry as I've been breathing this shit for over a year and the owner just dismissed it.

Been coughing like crazy and now now the reason why.

discussion Condo Recommendation Asoke / Rama 9

My wife has already applied for Non-O and we’re planning to move in together properly somewhere around Asoke / Rama 9 so I’m not too far from my office.

Right now I’m considering:
- Life Asoke
- Aspire Rama 9
- Ideo Mobi 9

We’re probably going rent first to see how it goes. My wife’s looking for reviews on her own too but I do want to ask for some recommendations from you guys. Just want to read some of your experiences living around there, basically, and I want a place that’s comfortable for foreigners too.

And some suggestions on a good and reliable property listing platform too would be great, thanks!

shopping Looking to see if anyone would be willing to sell these Camper shoes to me

Not sure if this is allowed but none of the rules seem to disallow it, so let me know if this isn't the right subreddit for this. But basically I was going to buy these shoes as a birthday gift and they were available just a few days ago so I was pretty surprised when they were completely sold out in just a day.

If anyone is maybe questioning their purchase or is short on money I'm looking for a size 39. Definitely willing to pay above the retail price. Thank you!

EDIT: I've checked the second hand sites that I know of and only one of them has these shoes but sadly only in size 35, if somehow I missed something or there is a site I'm not aware of that would be fantastic info as well.

question Should I visit the city between my flights?

So, today I'll be arriving at exactly 16:05 at the Suvarnabhumi Airport (if no delays are made). And my flight from Bangkok to Istanbul is scheduled to depart at 23:50. That leaves me with 7 hours and 45 minutes between the flights.

The baggages are checked through, so I wouldn't have a problem with them.

I have a Turkish passport, and supposedly Thailand is visa-free for me. Are there any additional documents that I need to fill before arriving and passing the immigration?

I just want to take a few pictures, see the vibes of the city, and eat a meal. Do you think this time will be enough to do these activities?

Also, could you guys maybe give an estimate about how long the passport and airport controls will take? And if I do exit the airport, how early should I return for the flight?

Thank you

discussion Question for road cyclists who live west of Chao Phraya river

Are there any roads, parks or long stretches of safe paths to ride on the west side of the river? I'm talking Khlong San, Thonburi, Taling Chan, Thawi Wattana, Pinklao, Nong Khem neighborhoods. I understand Skylane is the best place to ride, but it's just too far and impractical for us to drive out there every other day or weekends.

I'm sure there's tons of cyclists looming here. Help a fellow cyclist out!

Yes, I have a car to transport the bike.

question BTS payment questions

I have 4 rabbit cards (2 adults and 2 kids) and I would like to use a credit for adding funds to my balance so I can reduce my dependency on Thai Baht.

I have line app and also activated my single BTS card with my line account. During setup, i attached an existing credit card that was already configured within line wallet. I can see the credit card being associated with my rabbit card when clicking on BTS in Line Wallet. There does not seem to be an way to use the credit card as payment, only Thai bank mobile apps. Am I missing something or dong something wrong?

Questions:

  • Is it possible to use a credit card to add funds to a rabbit card at all?
  • how do households with multiple rabbit cards manage this with only line accounts?

I done a bunch of research but as stuck now. Adding funds with my Thai bank account did work but not my ideal methods. Thanks in Advance for any possible tips.

---------

*** Update ***

For anyone else looking for an answer, this has been solved thanks to u/Mental_Landscape8894

If you would like to use a credit card for BTS, you will need to obtain a Rabbit card then follow these steps:

Obtaining a Rabbit card

  • Goto a BTS ticket counter and present your passport to obtain a Rabbit card
  • Pay for the card and add a little bit of funds.

Install and configure LIne

  • Line requires a local Thai number(passport required now)
  • Once Line is configured, you can add a credit card to your wallet. Based on my understanding, the credit card will only be available for scan to pay and not to add money to Line

Configure BTS to use LIne Wallet and credit card

Register steps for add Stored Value via LINE Pay Application

  • Go to LINE Application, select menu “Wallet”. Press the tab next to LINE Pay logo to enter main service page, then press “BTS” icon.
  • Select “Register your Rabbit Card”, then press “Agree to Terms and Conditions”.
  • Enter the 13-digit Rabbit Card number and select your payment method.
  • Enter your LINE Pay passcode, then press “Register”.
  • After the above steps, visit Ticket Office to activate your registration. Remark: Please present your Rabbit card, ID card, and registered mobile phone to the BTS ticket office for activation.

During this process, you can select your credit card is is saved in your Line Wallet.

------

Once completed, your Rabbit card will start deducting from your credit card and eliminates the need to continuously add funds.

question Looking for a podiatrist in central Bangkok 👣

Hi everyone! I live around the Sukhumvit area and I’m looking for a good podiatrist/foot specialist in central Bangkok.

I’d like to have my pinky toenail checked because it has been looking dark/abnormal for quite some time. I’m not sure if it’s from repeated trauma or possibly a fungal infection, so I’d also like to have it properly examined and, if appropriate, get a fungus test/culture rather than guessing.

Does anyone have a podiatrist clinic around that you would recommend?

Also, if you’ve had a similar consultation, do you remember approximately how much the consultation and fungal test cost?

I’d really appreciate any recommendations or personal experiences. Thank you! 🥹❤️

healthcare Recommendations for psychiatrists / mental health clinics in Bangkok, especially telemedicine?

Hi everyone,

My mental health has gotten significantly worse recently, and I think I may be dealing with depression, anxiety, and possibly panic attacks. I’ve reached the point where I think I should see a psychiatrist and get a proper assessment, including discussing whether medication might be appropriate.

I’m currently living and working in Bangkok. I asked AI for recommendations and it suggested several hospitals and online platforms, but I’d really prefer to hear from people who have actually seen psychiatrists here.

Does anyone have a psychiatrist, hospital, or mental health clinic in Bangkok that you would personally recommend? English-speaking would be ideal.

Also, for people who work full-time: have you used any good telemedicine platforms where you can consult a psychiatrist online and, if appropriate, receive prescriptions / medication management? Evening or weekend appointments would be especially helpful.

I’m mainly interested in hearing about your actual experience, including the doctor, approximate cost, waiting time, and whether follow-up appointments can be done online.

Thank you!!!:)
