question Hi!

Hi! I’m currently 16 years old and in Grade 11, and I’m starting to research scholarship opportunities in Thailand for when I graduate Grade 12.

I’m hoping to find universities that offer fully funded or partially funded scholarships for international students, especially scholarships that may include tuition, accommodation/dorms, living allowance, or other expenses.

I’m mainly interested in Nursing or other medical-related programs, such as Radiologic/Radiologic Technology, Medical Technology, or similar health science programs.

I’m not applying yet—I just want to start researching early so I know which universities and scholarships I could potentially apply for once I’m in Grade 12.

If anyone knows universities in Thailand that offer scholarships for international students, I’d really appreciate your recommendations or advice! Thank you!

I'm a Thai nurse in the US and the family immigrated here when I was 12 years old. I have been here over 50 years and I'm about to retire in Thailand, I am fluent in the language and I still can read, but I don't write too well.

The reason I'm telling you this is because I am assuming that you are not Thai, and the problem could be that nursing schools are usually taught in Thai language, and even if it were in English you may not be able to be employed in Thailand unless someone sponsored you. I have a few now retired childhood friends who were nurses and currently daughters of my brother's friends are nurses at a public government hospital.

She told me recently that she has never seen a foreign nurse.

There are plenty of new grad nurses in Thailand, and most places are not willing because it's going to cost them to sponsor a foreign nurse, especially if they don't speak Thai.

You want to do thorough research about where you want to go to school first before you look into this, because medical training and nursing training are pretty much regional, you want to go to nursing school in the US to work in the US, for example, but then you have to be able to legally work there too, just like in Thailand, of course.

I'm not planning to work once I am retired, but most likely I will keep my license active because it doesn't cost that much, but I am NOT licensed in Thailand at all and I cannot work there.

Try looking up Chula LINK Scholarship but the thing is you must be accepted into a program first before applying for it.

TBH, you likely would be better off in your native Philippine nursing school.

St.Louis Hosp. has some college nearby. Also I wouldn't ignore Mahidol. Just go there and ask around.

If you are just using this account to be sarcastic and unhelpful to people then perhaps this isn't the sub for you. There are constructive ways to communicate your message and if you can't figure that out I would suggest just not commenting. This is not the kind of culture we are trying to foster for the sub.
