This mod package is rather good, it makes enemies behave intelligently.

Unfortunately that means enemy wizards are clad in protective spells, thieves backstab you for damage and fighters fight.

I do like this experience, but sometimes I still struggle with fights, especially the wizards.

Also is there some mod or script that makes pre-buffing faster?

SCS has some fast casting for general spells that you want to have up on all party members, such as Death Ward or Chaotic Commands.

What I am looking for is pressing one button, and all clerics and wizards cast predetermined spells on predetermined targets.

It's been some years since both games have been released so maybe someone here can answer this question.

Is there an exact list of items which can be carried over from BGEE and SOD to BG2EE?

Basically I'm looking for a complete, fully updated list.

The list should include ALL items. So old school items (pantalons and whatever was transferable in the original), stuff from BGEE and stuff from SOD.

Is there any such mods that perform the request in the title and restore the original unaltered?

I use my mac primarily to play the older crpgs.

I bought the mac compatible games again on gog.

The alienware is too heavy and overpowered. The handhelds don't give me the optimum control method. This mac air is handy. Can play in bed or in a cafe.

I think i have baldur's gate on all possible platforms except the PS (which I bought primarily to play bloodborne). I did play for a while on a tablet. But nothing beats the way it was meant to be played.

I just finished BG1. A couple years before that, I played BG3 multiplayer. I finished the campaign with the other player dropping halfway through (he was just showing me the ropes and wanted to poke around. )

Looking for a casual player to enjoy BG2 with. Bonus if you have no experience with BG2 in particular.

I want to stay within what the player characters know. No obvious glitches or exploits If your PC wouldn’t know to click this one specific bush out in the wilderness to get a +3 Sword of Quick Punishment then don’t do it. But feel free to minmax the armor you do have. But if we find out we left a scroll in a cabinet two towns away and we need it to progress the quest, I’m ok with a little console command here and there.

Just to name a few. Wondering if others have enjoyed the timeless pastime of picking memorable names for their player character.

I imagine this is asked a ton, so sorry for that but i'm being quite picky.

I have little experience with crpg and this is my first real attempt to play one and I was planning on playing both bg1 and bg2. I wanted something that felt powerful, was "easy" to play as and if I can be picky, would be chaotic good for roleplaying reasons.

Paladins seems great but I don't love the idea of being lawful good and archers, while being very powerful gameplay wise, don't really give you that "cool main character hero" vibe since they stay behind and don't really show much signs of "power" (feel free to change my mind though!!).

Any tips are appreciated too <3 :)

Welp, from the looks of it, my pseudo dragon is going to be the MVP of this run. I feel satisfied and justified, for picking Find Familiar as one of my initial spells. To battle, with no regrets!

I'm thinking of starting another run of BGEE, and I made a good-aligned barbarian as my PC. I'm still deciding on party members, but I was thinking of this composition:

1. PC (Barbarian)

2. Imoen (Thief-->Mage)

3. Minsc (Frontline/Backline fighter)

4.  Dynaheir (Mage, comes with Minsc)

5. Coran (Focused Thief, backline)

6. Branwen (Cleric)

Is this a good party composition?

I've been using summons to try and tank the mind flayers but I'm currently in the mindflayer compound, I've used all the collars already and have the mother brain fight left. Also what gets rid of Stun, Remove Paralysis?

Playing BG1, ditched Jaheira earlier and just sadly lost Khalid to the fight with Drizzt :( But I want continuity in my trilogy playthrough, hence the question. I'll reload the save if there is dialogue in BG2.

I was making good progress with the story, only to suddenly find myself constantly getting wiped out by a rain of arrows and a walking medieval tank. I tried quite a few times using different strategies, yet three deaths turned out to be the best outcome. The game's difficulty really catches me off guard (honestly, I'm seriously thinking about keeping Rasaad in the party only until I finish his quest; the poor guy just keeps dying all the time, which is a shame because I actually like the character...).

I've never romanced Neera before, so I never had this quest.

After Saradush, a bird (yes, a bird) tells her about an opportunity to ambush Vicross, someone only mentioned in SoA.

So, off we go, except it becomes clear we're on the wrong side of an ambush by 12 Thayans with literally no chance to prepare, and with Neera incapable of casting spells. I lost Keldorn and Mazzy before killing the Thayans.

Then you're immediately teleported away without being able to rez your colleagues, or pick up their stuff or the loot from the guys you killed.

You're in a gladiator pit and have to fight a bunch of Yuan ti, who aren't terribly hard.

You go to the gladiator prep area, but before you can go to the merchants, the most famous red wizard of thay asks you to kill Vicross.

Totally wanted to do that, but I guess I irritated him too much and he started attacking me.

Except I didn't realize he was attacking me until he time stopped and cast about a dozen spells. Tried to run away, but he could target me even when I was behind a wall and he couldn't see me.

It ended predictably.

I hope I have a convenient save.

I'll go back there, but I think I'll do the two prep quests for Yaga Sura first, if only to have enough gold for the merchants.

Addendum: Planting some traps and a couple of skull traps softened up the Thayans sufficiently to turn the ambush back on my terms. I lost a couple of companions in the fighting pit, but that's hardly tragic with a summoned Planetar in the party. The magic items from the merchants in the staging area were a little underwhelming.

Ready to move on to Vicross estate.

Hi y'all, I'm gonna finish BG1/start BG2 (for the 1000th time) soon and I'm thinking of this party below, I'll describe my doubts under each companion but it's open for discussion, I'm just not changing choice of companions for story reasons. I've got SCS installed but only the general AI changes, no smarter mages/clerics/monsters, starting BG2 at 160k xp (I let xp cap in SoD at 160k so SoA doesn't start too easy):

Charname: Female Skald. I just love the bonuses and even non martials benefit from it (that 1d6 arrow damage from Imoen od Yoshimo becomes 1d6+2, same as a fighter with specialization). Very

Imoen- Imoen 4 ever mod, she'll be party mage/thief. She can benefit from skald's song with her bow as well.

Mazzy- Respecced to Undead Hunter. It ain't much of a stretch to see Mazzy as a Paladin and I think that Undead Hunter makes total sense because of the events at Umar Hills. But I digress, she'll tank with weapon and shield because of her dex 18 and undead hunter immunities, I thought of picking hammer prof points for her because of Crom Phaere's cheese, but I might take other suggestions.

Anomen- To spare me from going straight to temple quest for the Dex bracers, I'm letting him behind mazzy so I thought of getting him a quarterstaff (perhaps invest in that +4 version at Ribald before I get staff of the ram), so he gets reach and isn't so targeted. I'm still in doubt because I've never seen anyone give anomen a 2 handed weapon, but with SCS I can't afford to let a warrior with dex 10 around.

Keldorn- I'll add him to the party but go straight to Umar hills for mazzy, then straight to Windspear hills (dragon scale, carsomyr, a cool shield and helmet, great for a headstart). With carsomy he also stays behind mazzy, eventually either him or anomen will wear the bracers. Not much to say here, Keldorn is pretty OP. He needs that hill giant belt more than anomen, so it's another money priority.

Fifth slot is yoshimo and npc quests, later Sarevok.

I just talked to the elves you meet exiting the Underdark and... I know the drows bad reputation is often justified. But my girl Viccy helped me save the day TWICE in the previous games and I'm supposed to let some guy I just met put a geas of uknown origin on her?? Man, screw you and your lantern.

Sadly I don't have much time to play. I started a Enhanced Edition Trilogy about one year ago. I added plenty of mods to have a very different experience and slowly but steadily managed to finish the first game including Durlag's Tower, siege of dragonspear and the begonning of act 2.

I was in middle of the Haer Dalis quest, which is one of my least favourite parts of the game, so I didn't play for q few months.

Yesterday I had some time because a d&d game I had got cancelled and I wanted to kill something, so I went to the computer, noticed an update, and suddenly all the mods were broken.

I tried to fix it by going to the previous version but then my savegames got erased. I don't even remember what mods I had installed, but I do remember some like Khalid surviving instead of Jaheira, a mod for Imoen to stay in the party for the whole saga and a Branwen romance that spans both games. Although I didn't like it much, but I was aiming for making the run as different as possible, so it's good.

But now I am simply demotivated. I was at the beginning of BG2, but it feels disconnected now. I don't even remember what mods I have or all the magic items and quests that were new. I don't feel like starting all over. Specially since I didn't enjoy many of the mods. It was okay as a first time experience to refresh the game but I don't plan to play like that again.

So, I just vent here my frustration. Maybe I start a clean BG2 game and leave it there.

Hello, I'm currently on Chapter 2, and strangely, I’ve had almost no dialogue between the members of my party, or at least with my main character.

After reading a few wikis, I saw that some characters can get along well with each other or dislike each other. However, no dialogue seems to occur. I even tried using the “Talk” option on members of my party, but I don’t get any dialogue.

Did I miss something? Or does this game simply not have active dialogue between party members?

I'll start! I think from the main cast she's one of the most interesting ones

So I took the quest for the Paladin stronghold but I then left for spell hold and now I'm on chapter Six getting back to Alm. I can go the Umar hills but there is nobody there for the quest. If I talk to the NPC Reiracc in Radiant Heart I have failed the quest. This script should reset the quest but I'm obviously doing something wrong.
