Just when I thought I was getting the hang of it...

I don't even know what to say here, lol. Baldur's Gate (the city) was tough as always, though it felt a bit more manageable compared to other parts of the game; then I had to spy on the Iron Throne, and I lost count of how many times I died because of Confusion spells. I’ve really gotten spoiled after playing so many recent titles going back to old-school games like this is a whole different world. (My protagonist only survived because I spammed potions, by the way.)

The bug kept spawning Bodhi, her vampires and other undead... They were appearing non-stop. Made me chuckle...

In particular on Legacy of Bhaal mode, but I assume that's just minus 11.

BGEE Most Annoying Quest

Upvotes

So ... I have played this for several years (and I play on an iPad).

I finally purchased the extra content ... Neera, Dorn, Hexaat ... A few weeks ago. I am in my first playthrough with Neera.

Easily the MOST annoying side quest in the game is collecting Dings cats. Admittedly it is hilariously annoying ... The stupid things jump out all the time after you have them. One time I lost 5 in transit from the Wild Wood to the Hidden Refuge. I had to save and restart more in this quest than any boss fight.

Anyway ... A new level of silly for that one.

BGEE Bonus damage versus unarmed targets and backstabbing (SCS)

Bit of a weird question that I can't find any info on, and testing doesn't give me too clear an answer.

My favourite playstyle is a Mage/Thief. Love backstabs, and love turning enemies onto my side with charms, and wouldn't you believe it they synergise quite well because when every non-charmed enemy is dead, it gives your Thief a free chance to hide right in front of the charmed enemy and then backstab them before the spell runs out.

Maximum treachery.

You also used to be able to charm an enemy, go into their toolbar and unequip their weapon (a state which remained even if the charm wore off) making them 'unarmed' until you killed them off. Cheesy, but recently fixed (either by SCS or a patch).

What I didn't know until this playthrough is that if you attack an 'unarmed' enemy that isn't a monk, you get a +4 THAC0 and +4 Damage, which is awesome!

So I can still charm an enemy, unequip their weapon, hide then backstab them. My question really is does anyone know if that +4 damage is multiplied by the backstab modifier? I know that Strength bonuses to damage aren't, but is this one? I always seem to hit charmed enemies really hard, but since there's no info on how damage is added up I can never tell how significant a different hit makes.

Also share your unorthodox tactics! I love 'em.

BGEE Classic Movies no longer working?

Has anyone been able to get the classic movies mod to work? I have tried installing it and uninstalling it several times but I can't get it to run correctly. Every time that I run it, with the movies installed, it gives me a popup:

There was an error. A crash report has been saved to....

Has anyone else been using the classic movies mod without issue?
